  • How does my photography website look? Constructive advice please.?

This is my first time creating a website, and this is just the basic set up. I plan to get my own domain/web hosting very soon, but before I jumped in I wanted to get my basic ideas going and get some opinions and constructive advice. Please don't be mean, or super negative... any and all opinion is appreciated.

As far as pricing goes, these are the general going rates for my area, just slightly lower since I am just coming into the business and getting the hang of things.

  • What camera should I buy for my photography business?

I am an amateur photographer, but ready to take the next step. I have previously owned a Canon Rebel XTi, followed by a Nikon D3000, but I couldn't stand it, so I had to go back to Canon. I then purchased a Canon Rebel XSi.

I prefer Canon and am currently weighing my options with a budget of about $700 right now.

I am looking at the Canon 40D, a 50mm F1.8 (or 1.4 depending if I can find a good deal) and one other lens. That I am undecided on. I do primarily portrait photography, but also enjoy still life, street photography and landscapes.

    Please help, thanks!

  • Losing weight in stomach, love handle, and thigh areas. Best combo of diet/workouts?!?

After having kids and losing my baby weight by about 1 year post partum. I was at a healthy weight (for my height) and had no real concerns with my figure. It has since been another year, and I've gained 10 extra pounds which all seems to be in my stomach and love handles for the most part. Thighs secondary. It's starting to make me self concious... but I don't really know where to start in effectively tightening and toning these areas as well as losing those 10lbs.

  • Canon T1i or T2i? Lenses?

I'm wanting to buy a new camera. I'm seeing about a $200 price difference between these on Amazon. I am trying to figure out if being used for photography purposes primarily, if I would benefit more from the T2i and most likely the kit lens, or if I should get the T1i and possibly have enough money left to invest in other lenses? Thanks in advance!

  • I want to upgrade my DSLR. Can you help me?

I currently own a Nikon D3000... but after having owned a Canon Rebel XTi before, I never really liked the way this one felt in my hands. Well, I'm selling it and I plan to go back to Canon. I want to buy a dSLR that will carry me through a good bit of my 'career', I'm over the 'entry-level' dSLR's. I do know how to work my camera in Manual mode and want to use the camera I purchase next for a long time.

My budget varies. I'm working with roughly $1000 right now.

Also, I have two 35mm Canon SLR lenses... will they work with a newer model DSLR? They are the Quantaray (for Canon AF it says) 28-90mm 3.5-5.6 and a Quantaray AF 55-200 4-5.6

  • Would these two quantaray lenses work with a canon t1i?

My friend gave me two quantaray lenses that she used with her canon rebel eos g11 film camera. I am thinking about buying a new dslr and I was hoping to be able to use these. One is a 28-90mm f3.5-5.6 with macro mode and one is a 55-200 f4-5.6. One of them even says for canon AF but I didn't know if that would include a t1i.

  • Will this lens be compatible with my Nikon D3000?

And will auto-focus work, or no?

  • What is a good lens for children's portraits for a Nikon D3000?

Here's some work I do with the kit lens, but I know investing in something else could make it much better....

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/31256225@N05/45062528...

What's something affordable, but worth it... it doesn't have to be Nikon brand, as long as it functions with the D3000 and has Auto-focus capabilities.

  • How can I create a studio set up on a budget?

I am talking about using common household lamps and items to produce and bounce light. Also, what kind of fabric is best for backdrops? What kind of bulbs to use, etc etc.

Can anyone help me, or link me to a site?

  • What would be a good, affordable lens to invest in for Nikon D3000?

I am interested in all styles of photography, but I do have a child that will be a main subject. I have the 18-55mm lens that came with it of course, but I can't decide what my next purchase should be.

  • Opinion on boys name?

I still don't know the sex... but if its a boy, the fiance and I were thinking of going with

    Skylar Rylan Causey

I'm iffy because of the way it flows... not sure if Rylan is the best choice of a middle name.

    What's your opinion?

  • What is a good song about...?

say, trying to leave someone who is just weighing you down and making you feel terrible all the time. I guess like, having a significant other who makes you feel like crap... and realizing that it is time to leave them?

    Thanks in advance.

  • UK/AU or other Non United States mommies:?

I am from the US and am going absolutely nuts trying to figure out some of your termionology. I can only assume it's the UK or Australia. But I'm not sure.

I'm assuming a cot is a crib.... but what about

"prams" no idea on this one.

    "dummies" (are these dolls?)

    "nappies" (diapers?)

I'm kind of lost... and curious as to what all of your baby termionlogy is compared to ours.

    Thanks.

  • What happens when you first join the military, and the months after? ?

My fiancee is looking to join the military. I am not sure which branch yet, but I am pretty sure he is thinking the Marines.

We will be getting married before he enlists... and I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and kind of concerned with what is involved in the beginning, how long before you go, how long he would be gone, living situations while on active duty...

If anyone can give me some good answers on what happens when you sign the paper.

  • How far along do I look? Photos inside.?

I've been a little curious as to if I look the right size for how far along I am.

    http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/61/l_8...

10 points to the first person to guess correctly. I am only 1 day off from an exact week, so I will take the week I will be tomorrow as the correct response.

Thanks so much, I have to do something to ease my mind.

  • Anterior placenta, a few questions if you know about this subject?

1st- Did this cause any problems in your pregnancy?

2nd- Did it prevent you from feeling the first kicks as early?

3rd- If you had a 3d/4d scan, did it get in the way, as I hear it sometimes does. (I want to get a video/photos done, but not if the placenta will be blocking)

    Thanks so much! (:

  • Honest opinions on this baby girls name?

It's original yes, and I know that. It's different yes, I know that too.

    I want honest opinions.

    Alesia London Causey

    and Alesia is pronounced Uh-lee-see-uh.

If you are going to say you don't like it, don't just say IT SUCKS... say why!

    ONE MORE QUESTION!

Also, do you think that it will cause problems profesionally when she is older, Dr. Alesia Causey, or something like that. I don't think so, but what would you think? I'm sure she won't mind it in high school, it's unique and pretty. I just was thinking adult age too.

  • Does my belly seem the right size for 14 weeks 4 days?

Hi all, I have been really nervous... worried that the baby isn't growing up something cause weighing in at 105 and only 5'3... I was sure I would be showing by now. So, now I am relying on strangers for reassurance. I haven't had an ultrasound or even heard the heartbeat yet, I have an appointment on December 1st, the earliest I could get once my insurance went through. But I've done a couple extra pregnancy tests and they have been positive. I have had no bleeding either... but I guess being a first time mom to be, I am nervous.

Btw, I didn't know I was pregnant until 8 weeks. Applied for Insurance at 8.5 weeks and was approved at 10 and booked the appointment, but they weren't seeing patients until 16 weeks except for bloodwork and a pap, but I had that done at a clinic, and they didn't offer heartbeat monitoring.

Anyways, with all the said here is the photo.

    http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/56/l_5...

I feel a lot of like its just bloating, but I so badly want to show to know that everything is progressing correctly. I talked to someone who didn't show at all until 18 weeks, so I feel a bit better, just wanting some more opinions thanks!

  • I want to become a surrogate mother... but how? Advice from others who have done this?

I am currently pregnant with my first child... but I have always wanted to be a surrogate mother. I wanted to wait until I had my own, so that there would be no emotional attachment holding me back or anything. Anyways, I am due in May... and wouldn't be thinking of doing this until at least 6-12 months after... but I really want to do it.

I want to give a couple something that they will never forget. There is nothing more amazing than helping someone have a child that can't.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone could help me find out more information on becoming one, especially in Georgia (in the US for those that live in UK).

Also, if you have been a surrogate, share your stories please!!

  • 13 weeks and paranoid, please reassure me.?

Okay, so I am very paranoid that something is going to go wrong. I am 18 years old (19 next month) and this is my first pregnancy. It took me and my fiance almost a year to concieve (I was told I couldn't have children due to endometriosis that runs in my family) anyways. I was having severe cramps at 10 weeks... no bleeding though. I went to the ER anyways, just to be sure since I had not seen a doctor yet. They did a pelvic exam and an ultrasound and I saw the baby, and the heartbeat. They said everything looked okay. I am now 13 weeks and 1 day and just feel like something is wrong. No cramping, no bleeding... just the way I feel. I have a doctor appointment for December 1st for an ultrasound and everything I will be 15w5d, but I can't help but feel like I am going to get horrible news. What is going on with me? Is this normal? I am just so scared... I'm not even showing at all yet, and I only weigh 105 so I was sure I would be showing by now. Can anyone relate to me and help me out? I want this baby so bad and I am so scared of losing it.....
