I'm buying a Betta fish tomorrow and I thought I was going to put it in my fish bowl I already had, but now I'm thinking maybe a tank would be better. I was wondering if there were some people who have had experiences with different types of tanks.

Should I use my fish bowl or purchase a tank from one of those places? If from one of the websites given, please let me know what you think is best. I really want my Betta fish to live a long time!

Tomorrow I'm buying one Betta fish. I've been told they're fine in tanks or bowls. A few years ago, I owned a Betta fish and he lived in a bowl and never jumped out. For right now, I'm going to use my bowl I had from then. However, many people are telling me it would be safer to have a cover on my bowl, and I agree also. I was thinking maybe get like a mesh screen? I don't know a good way to secure it on top right now and I was wondering if anyone else has a better idea of how to cover it.

I just bought a Samsung Moment yesterday, but now I'm not sure if I'd want the Evo. I'm a technologically advanced, I love to text, take clear pictures, and customize my phone. I saw that the Moment is customizable, but less than the Evo. I love to text though, so I don't know if the touchscreen keyboard would be right for me. I just want some views on this... like if you have the Evo or know anything about it or the Samsung Moment. I mean, the Moment is a wonderful phone, no doubt about that, but it's still 3G and when it comes 2 years, or even next year, most of the phones will probably be 4G. What should I do?

I bought her April 17th from a pet store. They were not sure if all were females, but I think they were. They also said she was from a distributor so anything could've happened.

Anyway, after about 1 or 2 days or her getting home she became ill with maybe wet-tail/stroke? I gave her Dri-Tail and she seems fine except for her anus area. There is a small circle about 1/3 the size of a penny. This circle is a bit bloody looking (hardly) and sort of black? She gathers a ton of food but doesn't eat all of it, just stores some of it, then eats some. She also takes a good amount of bedding in her igloo, but not massive.

Anyone ever heard of this on a hamster's anus area? Also, I cannot take her to the vet. Thanks for all help! (:

I just bought some fleece for my guinea pigs to use as bedding, but I'm afraid they might get too hot in it...?

I'm scared my guinea pig may be obese :( I want her to have a really long life... will obesity shorten it? :(

My guinea pig plays alone in her playpen out of her cage. The pen is a little bit bigger than a beach towel, but is plenty of room to run. She will turn 2 years old at the end of May, but when she was younger she would always run. Now, she just walks around and sleeps in there.

About a week before Christmas of 2009 she hurt her paw. I took her to the vet and her paw is fine now, but after that happened is when she quit running in her playpen. I give her a hay-ball and usually a tunnel. Today, I just gave her the hay-ball and she still just sleeps.

Any ideas for something fun to keep her running in her playpen? She is very fat, but exercise will help her lose weight, but I can't seem to get her to exercise!

Okay so I had a recent question about my hamster maybe having wet tail... well I put DriTail in her water and she drinks it, but now I don't think she has wet tail because there is no diarrhea and she still drinks and I think eats.

Anyways, now I look at her today and she seems wobbly, hunched over, and her tail area is covered in aspen (her bedding). She is a teddy bear hamster, I just got her about 4 days ago and her tail area has been like that since she got home (Or the next day, I forget). Is this normal for that breed? (Her tail area like that). Something that really confuses me is... ONE EYE IS BIGGER THAN THE OTHER! I don't remember this yesterday, so I think it came up today. This scares me... and she sleeps all the time even in the night I think (I'm not really awake to know).

PLEASE HELP!!! I LOVE MY HAMSTER AND I DON'T WANT HER TO DIE :(((((

I am trying to make a bead pet, but I can't figure out how to do it! I was wondering if there is a website or something or a youtube video instructing how to make it. The first person with a good answer (providing links to an instructional website or video. Also, if you have good instructions that are easier than the instructions given in the box.) My guinea pig hurt her paw last Sunday and today is Saturday. Sunday night I put her in her playpen with my sister's guinea pig. They have played in the playpen before, but do not live together. After about a minute in the pen, my guinea pig started walking weird and started to lay down on her side a bit. I put her back in her cage, then checked her out. I saw that she hurt her paw because whenever i held it, she lied on it. I decided to wait a few days just to see if she would heal up. After a few days, I contacted her breeder and the breeder told me that the vet could not help it, that rest was the only thing. I agree with this and it makes sense, so I think there is no need to take her to the vet. I am just asking if there is anything I could do to help her. it is near Christmas and I have many activities planned for us to do together! I have held her since this happened, just not put her in her pen. Today I have not held her yet because my friend suggested that maybe if she rests more, she will heal quicker. My guinea pig still eats and drinks fine, but she is sleeping more and holds her paw up when she walks. Please help me!

It is not red and is only noticeable if I hold her and look. Does she have wet-tail? I fed her a lot of veggies lately (not too much, but about every other day) She still eats and drinks fine. She doesnt seem tired or anything, actually more energy than usual. Any answers help! And please do not tell me to take her to the vet because I do not have the money really and she is an old hamster. I have had one hamster die of old age and this doesnt seem to be the same symptoms. I want a great tv show to watch and get obsessed with lol. i want something without much sex and stuff but not babyish. im 12 years old so nothing like hannah montana or anything.. NOTHING DISNEY! some shows i like are secret life (but my mom doesnt rlly like me watching it), the nanny (i love this show but they dont make new episodes :() , icarly (will grow out of soon). any suggestions? i hope i find my favorite show with your help!!

My syrian, black bear hamster, Luna, seems sick. A few days ago she was sneezing or coughing, i couldn't tell. But whenever i wake her up to check on her, one eye wont open all the way. Last night she ate carrots and this morning i fed her apple and shes eating her food. She seems more sluggish than usual even though my sister said she was on her wheel a few days ago. When i held her she seems thinner, but i dont understand that since she is eating. I cant really tell if she is breathing heavier than usual. I have 2 other hamsters and they have never been sick and neither has Luna. I have never had a sick hamster before so i am scared. Since she is a black bear its hard to see her eye. I have had her for a year and a few months. I held her last night and she tried to bite me which she usually doesnt do so maybe she is reacting to pain. I really dont want anything to happen to her so PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

I bought a bag of shells from walmart today and they were from the arts and crafts section and they looked they looked like the shells i would buy in the pet store. my hermit crab is molting so i need a bigger shell since hers right now is a bit small, and so is her extra shell. I was wondering since they were from walmart if they are bad to use?? i dont want to hurt her or anything if chemicals are used or something in them...

my hermit crab yesterday looked dead (hanging out of shell, gray/ashy color). i researched and it said if she did not smell bad she is probably not dead. so i gave her a chance and today i have seen the ashy colored exoskeleton, which i think it is the exoskeleton because i looked closely and saw inside the shell her orange/red/purple legs. i havent seen her fully out of her shell with the new legs but i have seen them go in and out and i think shes eating the exoskeleton. im pretty sure shes molting... i have misted her tank a few times a day and the heat has been around 73 degrees F. i have put her log over her so she can be safe and cozy and she is on the surface if you didnt notice by what i have said. but i want to know what i can do to make this a good molt because this is my first crab i have ever had molt because all of my others have died and she has been very healthy and showed many signs of molting and she is very important to me so i want to make it a good molt. so what can i do? and how long will it take? she is maybe a bit over average sized? she has one shell with her which is beside her. its a tiny bit bigger than her... should i get a bigger one? please give me any info about molting you can. thank you!

i have one hermit crab and have had her for almost a year. im sorry for vague info, but i forget what she used to do. but for around a months time she was eating and drinking very much and i would have to give her more food and water almost everyday. she is a medium sized crab and lives alone in a tank and is provided with salt and regular bottled water. i give her jurassi diet food mixed with store bought coconut and zoomed fruit salad. she has a log and lives with bark, sand, and gravel. i am giving u that info in case it is important because i want her to live as long as possible. she has 1 extra shell and her current and extra one r neither painted. i clean her tank about every month. her tank is usually around humidity- high 60s/low 70s unless i do a big mist. anyways, she has suddenly stopped eating and drinking for a week or so. i have been having to put her in her water and she hasnt eaten and i cant force that in her! please help me! idk if shes about to molt or what!! is there any way to get her to eat and drink more?? PLEASE HELP ME!!!
