1 AnswerMovies4 years agoHow can one draw the distinction between friend and enemy?
What is the difference that makes a difference?
And how is it worth mentioning?
what is the primary difference? since the linguists and 'people of thought' deemed it necessary to define a distinction.

1 AnswerOther - Education10 years agoDo you know this Poem?
Wait for me and I'll return,
only wait very hard
wait when you are filled with sorrow
as you watch the yellow rain,
wait when the winds sweep the snowdrifts,
wait in the sweltering heat,
wait when others have stopped waiting
forgetting ther yesterdays.
wait even when from afar no letters come to you
wait even when others are tired of waiting
wait even when my mother and son think I am no more.
and when freinds sit around the fire, drinking to my memory
wait
and do not hurry to drink to my memory too.
wait
for I'll return,
defying every death
and let those who do not wait
say that I was lucky
they, never will understand that in the midst of death
you, with your waiting
saved me
only you and I will know how I survived
Its because you waited
as no one else did

5 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade agowhat are some ways to be 'not dirty' ... so to speak?
Whats your view or experience on any of this?
Just as there is physical filth, there is spiritual and metaphysical filth, or what I call 'state-ual' filth.. so to speak.
The argument is that its not the dirty thing, or compound, environment, or arragement etc that is the problem, but instead its "the effect" these things have "when they interact with you". The word "you" means you and yours, you and all your processes, from atom to atman ... etc
Then from the point of view of anything, including you, there is nothing 'unclean', intrinsicly, nothing to be shunned. But instead there is only "an awareness or unawareness of the effects" of that thing. "That thing" could be a state, arrangement, or an actual thing. (note that a "person" would fall into each of these categories)
At this point you'll see that "cleanlines&filth-etc" is merging with the more general "danger".
Some say all things merge as you travel up along them, (like an upside down tree). so that discussions such as this could be made redundant by more general ones.
But for the sake of argument lets deliberatly keep "cleanlines&filth-etc" in the picture and as the topic.
So "the effect to our process" is all we register or measure when dealing with or qualifying uncleanness. If this view is correct then it will affect two things:
First it will change the way we think about any dirty, filthy, unclean, repugnant (or any other word) thing. we would realize that we couldnt care less about that thing itself. or atleast not in relation to its (cleanlines&filth-etc)ness. and if "you" happen to be that thing, then you could see "what their problem is" and , if you're feeling graceful, be kind enough to excuse from them. this remains the same whether you're "too far below" or "too far above" them, because the effect would be the same: to in a, deemed, harmful way affect their "process", (or thier "ness" to be clear).
This is why some would say "do not interact with so and so", or "stay away from those people". or "dont touch that", because the effect is two way and vice versa for both.
Secondly, it would greatly increase the number of things that we would consider unclean. (where again "things" can mean states, arrangments etc) (and also "unclean" should be rightfuly "dangerous" (the reason for not is that the discussion will have something to do with loftyness and piety))
This is because we would no longer be measuring them based on dogmatic "being told" or "instinct" or "habit" etc. but instead by precisly measuring the effect they would have. you'll notice that some things could be also removed from the list, but I think on average for most, the number would increase, atleast initially: you'll also notice that this relies heavily on your awareness of what your "ness" is all about in the first place.
I have more to say but I've been writting this for 2 hours and I'm tired of it. sorry if anything is still unclear
What I want to know is: what are some metaphysical or spiritually unclean things you know of?
from not having a tidy place, to virtues or states of mind or not placing an upside down bowl on the left of the table on the fifth day of the second month. etc..
