I know it sounds cliche, but if you can't afford the vet, please do not buy the pet. All animals need care and regular vet visits. If you cannot afford to care for them with these regular wellness checkups, please do not purchase them. Pet stores sell many varieties of animals, but these animals do not come from good backgrounds or good genetics. A better option is a local breeder or shelter. Try petfinder.com for animals in your area in need of loving homes. Please spay/neuter your pets.
Can reading a book out loud be considered copyright infringement?
As a teacher, I often wonder where lines are drawn. One such line is with read alouds. Of course teachers everywhere read aloud a book to the class without incident, but what if I were to post a video of myself reading that book on a class website so they can listen to the story again on their own? Would this be considered illegal due to the recording device that has now come into play? Or if the book is read over and over (for arguments sake lets say Where the Wild Things Are is the book in question) by teachers and parents everywhere, does this mean it is okay to post?
Any information would be helpful. It's difficult to sift through the information online to find exactly what I need. Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoCan you connect a Wii to a computer using Vista Media Center?
This may not even be possible, but I'm hoping it is. I'm running Vista (came with the computer) and I'd like to hook up a Wii to it. It has a media center that I use to watch television on. There are places to insert the yellow, red and white cables on the computer. Is there a way to get the media center to recognize the Wii (or if not the media center, the computer in general)? Has anyone done this successfully? If so, what do I need to do to get it to work?
Thanks in advance.
3 AnswersNintendo Wii1 decade agoIs it legal to paint over the red flag on a mailbox?
My husband and I are building our first home. It is scheduled for completion sometime at the end of March. I would love to surprise him with an individualized mailbox. I don't want anything too over the top, but I was thinking about painting the red flag portion of the mailbox to look like a toothbrush (he is a dentist). Would this be legal? I have researched painting mailboxes and found nothing on painting the flag portion. Thanks in advance for any websites or information you can give.
6 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoSewing machine for beginner for small animal hammocks?
I'm a total beginner. I would like to start sewing small animal hammocks using fleece and some quilting material. Any ideas as to which machine would be best and under $100? I have been told to get an automatic threader... or something along those lines. No clue what that means, but would certainly appreciate any help you can give!
6 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoAny suggestions on keeping rat smell down?
I have two female rats. I house them in a cockatiel cage. I used Carefresh bedding, as that worked well with my gerbils, but one of my rats couldn't handle the dust and continually sneezed from it. I changed over to Yesterday's news and the sneezing stopped immediately. I clean the cage out every other day due to the smell. It's terrible. It was terrible even with the Carefresh bedding. The rats get bathed every other week and I clean the cage with bleach (completely scrubbing and rinsing so as not to harm them). I am finding that urine is seeping underneath the pull-out tray and forming a puddle until I take it out and scrub it down. I don't know how the urine is getting there but it smells simply horrible. Anyone else have this problem? I know they shouldn't smell, but my housemate is getting to the point where he wants to bring them to an individual that takes in unwanted rats. I love my rats. I need to find a way to keep down the smell. I also use Bio-odor in their water.
