I just signed up for an online dating site that has a good reputation. Awhile later, I received a message from an attractive woman, giving me a picture of herself (just 2 face pics) and her phone number to text. It was a full 7 digit number with area code included (so 10 digits total). I googled the number just to make sure it wasn't a scam. It traced the number back to Alabama (I live in Fl, so I figured maybe the woman had moved to Fl from Alabama). From the info I have gathered, she seems to be legit. She has provided more than 1 picture of herself, a full 10 digit number, etc. I text the girl and she replies. We have a conversation and she starts asking me to cam with her and sends me a link. Clearly I know the website is a scam so I don't even bother going to it. Upon realizing that the "person" I'm texting is a scammer, I send back a text and keep getting the same message back, word-for-word, asking me to join the cam site, so I realize its a bot, and not an actual person texting me. Is it possible that I am getting charged for texting the bot/scammer? I don't want to get any surprise charges on my cell phone bill. Also, I did not enter my number into any websites, "she" simply gave me her number and I texted it. Basically, I want to know if I can be charged just for texting that number. Thanks

Here's a little bit of background:

I recently made the switch from a college preparatory school in my area that was known for its prestigious students to one of the local public schools. Compared to just about every other public and private school in the area, the college preparatory school had better SAT/ACT scores, over 90% average AP exam pass rate, and more opportunities for the students in several fields of interest. The prep school had identical classes to what kids at my public school are taking but the work for the classes at the prep school were much harder and more involved. For example, if there are two students of equal learning capability taking per-calculus, one at the prep school and one at the public, the student at the prep school will have to work harder but will have a better understanding of the subject due to the more rigorous teacher. but, the student at the prep school will get a B in his class where as the student in public will get an A because the student at the public school will have an easier teacher.

So here's my question:

Will colleges prefer a prep school student with slightly lower grades over a public school student with higher grades? Will colleges realize that the preparatory school is more challenging than a public school?

I ask this because when I was at the prep school, I had a GPA of 3.5 but had to work my butt off to get that. But now that Im at the public school, I have a GPA of 4.2 and Im not even working that hard (in fact, Im trying to see if I can get more AP classes to raise my GPA). My goal for college is to get into a good college such as Northwester or Vanderbilt. Ive considered going back to the prep school because it had better teachers and better students. My concern is that colleges will see that I have a lower GPA at a private school and not realize that it is much, MUCH harder than public school.

I am a sophomore in high school. This year, I am going to a new school for the first time. Last year (freshman year), I went to a very small school (less than 80 kids per grade). I had several friends at my old school and I love to visit them. My old school's homecoming is coming up and I plan on going to the dance (Kids that don't go to the school can come as long as they have an invitation from someone that does go). I was planning on asking a lady-friend of mine from my old school to go to my old school's homecoming dance. I've already talked to some other people and I hear no one is planning on asking her, so it's not like I'm preventing someone from asking. Now that you guys have some background to the situation, heres my question: Is it rude to ask a girl to homecoming at her school if you two go to separate schools? I am confident she would say yes but I just want to know if it would be considered rude or weird to ask her. Thanks to whoever answers. I appreciate it.

I have had my ps3 slim for about 3-4 years now. As of the last 3 days, my connection while playing online games has been absolutely terrible. Every time I play I'm always getting 1 bar connection. I moved my playstation about 1 foot away from my T.V. and I started to get four bars for about an hour. Then, my connection went bad again. So I moved my Ps3 about another foot in a different position and I got full bars again, but this time, only for about 2-3 minutes. Then I moved my Ps3 AGAIN, but then it didn't seem to change the connection this time. I don't know what's wrong. It says the signal strength to my wifi is 100% but I still get 1 bar connection to call of duty servers. Can someone tell me what is wrong? What do I need to do?

I was planning on getting a po box at my local post-office. But I do have a few concers and questions, so here they are:

1) I know that when you sign up for a po box, you need to prove your residential address. So if I sign up for a po box, would all the mail that's supposed to go to my house go to the po box instead? Because I only want certain things to be delivered to my po box.

2) If I order, say an M-rated video game or tobacco, would I have to show ID every time I come to pick up my package? I am 23 years of age but I was wondering if I'm going to need an ID every time I go to the post office.

Theres a girl I like this year who's a sophomore. I'm thinking about giving her some hints in a few weeks about my feelings for her, but before i do, i wanted to get your opinion. What do you think about dating younger guys in high school? do you think it's lame, cute, normal, odd? Give me your opinion! I don't want to start giving her hints and then find out she might not like younger guys!

So I'm going to be getting my license soon and i wanted to know any recommendations on good first cars? i go to a private school so if i don't get a somewhat unique/cool looking car I'll never hear the end of it (yea i know, it's sad). I've talked with my parents about all these cars and the main problem is, is that the insurance is going to be WAYYY to high, intact my dad doesn't even know if i can get insurance on a 350z (me being a new driver and all). Here's the key factors of the new car:

We are going to buy it used

we we're looking for 20k or less (we could go a little more if it's really worth it, and i'd probably be chipping in some of my money at that point)

I'd like to add things to it like sub-woofers, and possibly and underbody LED kig. But i wouldn't put those in until i absolutely KNOW I'm a safe driver. I absolutely love cars so it'd be awesome to have a cool first one. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated! remember not to be too ridiculous though

So now that school has started back up, I have to start prioritizing my life. This is really tough for me because i have been trying to lose weight (I'm pretty skinny for the most part but i have just a few areas of fat that i REALLY want to go). Usually my schedule works like this

8am-3:30 pm: School

3:30-6:30pm: homework

6:30-7pm: dinner

7-8:30: more homework

8:30-8:45: walk the dog

8:45-10: more homework (just about finishing up at this point)

I'm supposed to be in bed by 10pm every night unless it's the weekend or i have an absolute ton of homework. Grades are extremely important to my parents (i don't have to be A+ student but anything below a B on a report card is unacceptable) so this means i absolutely can not miss/not do any of my homework. I usually don't have that much Homework that due by the next day, most of it is studying for quizzes and tests, which i usually have 1-2 per class per week. The gym I go to is open 24 hours but that doesn't really matter that much since I'm supposed to be in bed by 10 anyway. Any help on creating time in my schedule to go to the gym as much is possible would be great! (btw i usually make my workouts about an hour and a half or so: 45 minutes of cardio and 45 minutes of weights). Also, my school has cut out it's P.E. class so i no longer have any time to get exercise during school. and the last thing is, I'm in high school, so that is why i have such a boat load of work.

Recently i bought a new Macbook Pro. I've heard all these things about a startup disk but my mac didn't come with one? was it supposed to? what should i do now?

So im a teenage guy (under 16) and i have extremely wavy hair. i do my best to straighten it by taking a shower (with shampoo and conditioner), blow dry it (with help of my mom), and then put a tight beanie on to help the hair stay straight down until i have to leave for school. Even after all that stuff my hair still gets wavy-ish during the day.

My mom isn't going to help me with my hair anymore and i don't know how to use a blow dryer. What can i do to help get my hair straight without having to use a straightener, blowdryer, or getting it permanently straightened at a salon?

Okay I'm facing a major issue when facing the black screen of death on my computer. When I hit the power button to turn the laptop on all that comes up is a black screen, nothing else. I waited several minutes (15) for SOMETHING to happen, but nothing happened. I had my dad help me and he held down all sorts of buttons while rebooting the computer but even then nothing happened. What's wrong with my laptop? It's a HP pavilion dv9000, I'm on vacation and I really need my laptop at night when I have nothing else to do. Thank you!!!

Hey everyone, so im kind of starting to lose my motivation to do my workout exercises every night before i go to bed (push-ups, sit-ups, side planks, bicep curls). I really dont want to lose all of my motivation. the only thing i do right now to stay motivated is watch shows like 'the jersey shore" and "real world St. Thomas" to stay motivated, i know the shows are lame but in reality the guys are getting girls because of their nice bodies (which is my reason to watch them, nice body= awesome girls, so i work out). i need a new source of motivation, so my main question is what do you do to stay motivated to be healthy?

So i do my best to try and wash my face every night and every morning. In the morning this is what i do to take care of my face (in consecutive order):

apply/rub Neutrogena oil-free face wash (orange, plasma-like stuff) with hot wash cloth on my face

wipe my face with Neutrogena "rapid treatment" alcohol-free pad over my face

apply a Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer over my face with SPF-15 (dermatologist recommended SPF)

And then at night time (1 extra step):

apply/rub Neutrogena oil-free face wash (orange, plasma-like stuff) with hot wash cloth on my face

wipe my face with Neutrogena "rapid treatment" alcohol-free pad over my face

apply a Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer over my face with SPF-15 (dermatologist recommended SPF)

apply a product called "Differin (.3%)" over areas that need treatment.

i can literally all of these steps every day and night for a month and still have acne! i dont understand why it wont go away. is Neutrogena not a good brand to use? someone help pleaseeeee.

my acne is getting kind of bad and i want to stay off the product "Accutane" if i can. ive been going to a dermatologist and everything he gives me doesnt work that well :/

Hey guys/girls. I'm looking for a new pair of headphones for anywhere around $350 or lower (but i'm willing to go a little bit over if it's really worth it). I've poked around a little bit on the internet but of course most headphone reviews i see are somewhat bias. I'm looking for some headphones that will give me good bass (for Hip-Hop, Rap, Dubstep) but also good trebles because i don't want to have headphones so bass heavy that it muddies out the treble. If possible, style isn't a big deal but it would be nice. Some of the headphones i've considered are:

1. Sennheiser HD 598

2. Sennheiser HD 600

3. Sennheiser HD 650 (very iffy on these, would most likely buy them off amazon)

4. The infamous beats by dre studios (if youre wondering why i'd even come close to considering these it's because of their style, i know their sound is ok but not worth the $300, like i said, it would be more for style)

5. Bose quiet-comfort 15 (yes i know, they're also overpriced)

6. Sony xb 700

7. this one is more of a question too, I checked out the sony xb1000 but they stopped selling them, why is that?

I'm open to ideas. I haven't checked out denon or audio techinca but i hear they also have good headphones. If you could also explain whats so great about the headphones that you suggest that'd be fantastic! Please remember that i'm looking for headphones with really good bass but not a muddy treble, Thanks!

So i think my brother has been looking up dirty things on my ipod and then deleting my history, because everytime he borrows it, he gives it back with all of the history cleared. I want to know what he's been looking up. Is there any way to find out what he's been looking up with my computer? like is there a way to get into my internet server and look up everything thats been looked up in the past? ike im basically trying to find out what he's been looking up on my ipod with my computer. thanks
