  • Why is it so unreasonable for a girl to pay for herself on a date?

Every guy I date insists that they should pay for my meals. Even when I tell them that I want to pay for my own portion, they don't back off. Its so annoying. Its an instant turn off for me. It shows that they don't actually care about my own opinions and beliefs and would rather just try to "impress" me so they can get laid. Oh and don't give me the "gentlemen" argument. A true gentlemen would respect the girl's decision and allow her to pay if that's what she wanted.

  • Which battle was more epic? Normandy or Kursk?

The largest seaborne invasion of all time vs the largest tank battle of all time. Which one would've been more amazing to watch?

  • Are relations between the US and Iran worse than they were between the US and the Soviet Union?

I seem to recall the Soviets had an embassy in the US. They also traded with the US. They even cooperated on space missions at certain points. Would it be fair to say that current US-Iran relations were worse than US-USSR relations throughout the cold war?

Who would've won in a war between these two countries in the 1960s? Assume no US intervention.

  • Do you think its a shame that Lego are mostly advertised towards boys instead of being gender-neutral?

You almost never see girls on the front of Lego boxes. You rarely see girls in Lego advertisements. Most lego figures tend to be male. The female ones tend to be really girly. Girls are always stuck with feminine Barbie like toys, which is a shame I think. I think we should encourage them to play more with Lego and other toys that help to develop their visual spacial abilities.

  • Do you think its a travesty that almost all toys designed for girls are feminine and girly?

Why don't we encourage girls to play with Lego or other toys that encourage them to be creative and build things? Why are girl toys comprised mostly of barbies instead of things that help them to develop their visual-special abilities? There is so much more diversity in the toys advertised towards boys. Why don't girls have that diversity?

  • Was the Soviet Union way weaker than the US?

I mean other than nukes, wasn't their military sort of a joke? Modern Russia would get owned by the US really badly. Hard to imagine how the Soviets would've been much better...

  • My best friend asked me out. I said no and now she's ignoring me. What do I do?

It was such a shock to me when she asked me out. I mean she's beautiful, smart, funny and charming but she's been my best friend since we were kids. I think of her as a sister, not as a potential date. I told her I couldn't go out with her because it would be too weird. She said she understood but I could tell that she looked really hurt by my rejection. Its been a few days and she's been ignoring me ever since. She's not answering my texts or even opening the door to her place when I head over there. Its getting a little frustrating. My friends are criticizing me for rejecting "such a hot babe" as they like to put it. Her friends are calling me a jerk for rejecting her because of how hurt she is. Its like no one cares what I want. What do I do..

  • My best friend is in love with me. What do I do?

I overheard her talking to her friend the other day (she didn't see me). Apparently, she's been in love with me for a while now and she's planning on letting me know soon. It sounded pretty serious. I've known her since we were kids, I know when she's telling the truth and this was definitely true. I don't even know how to react to this. I mean, she's beautiful, smart, funny and charming but it would be so weird to date her. It would be like dating my own sister. I'm still so shocked and don't know what to do. Should I tell her that I know about her secret or just wait for her to confess her love for me? I don't know if I can wait. I really need to get this off my chest and let her know that I'm not interested. How do I do that without hurting her?

  • My best friend is in love with me. What should I do?

Long story short, my best friend of 5 years has confessed her love for me. I didn't know how to react. I didn't even say anything. I just walked out of the room. She's been calling me all day but I haven't responded. Its just too awkward for me to face her again. She's like a sister to me. How can I date her? At the same time, I don't want to hurt her...

  • My roommate/best friend is in love with me. What should I do?

She's been my friend since we were kids. We've always been there for each other, even in our most difficult moments. We have the same interests and we hang out almost everyday. The problem is, because of our close friendship, I look at her more as a sister than someone I could date. She on the other hand, doesn't see things that way. I overheard her taking to her friend the other day. She didn't know I was there but in that conversation, I heard her talk about how she's madly in love with me and has been for a long time. She was talking about whether she should tell me how she feels. I walked way before they could find out I was there. I was so shocked, I didn't know what to do. I've tried to ignore her for the last few days. It was just too awkward for me to confront her. She's been starting to wonder if there was something wrong with me. She doesn't know that I am aware of her little secret. I really don't want to ruin our friendship but at the same time, how can I date someone who I basically grew up with? Don't get me wrong, she's beautiful but she's like a sister to me...

  • My sister is too much of a girly girl. Should she toughen up?

She can't take a joke, she's overly sensitive about everything and she refuses to do any sort of hard labor. The other day, I was fixing the deck because my parents made me. My parents were at work and so I asked my sister for some help. It was a two person job but she refused to pitch in because according to her, girls aren't supposed to do any sort of physical labor. Whenever she has to lift something or anything like that, she makes me do it. If I refuse, she goes complaining to my parents. She's also really sensitive. If she insults me, I just brush it off. Whenever, I say something to her, she gets really offended. Sometimes, she even starts crying. One time, we got into a heated argument and she started attacking me. I didn't hit her back, I just pushed her off of me. She landed on the ground and hurt her elbow a little. Just a tiny bruise but it was enough to make tears come rolling down her face and act like a baby. She acts like a fragile little princess all the time and it sickens me. We aren't living in the 50s anymore. Am I wrong to think that she needs to toughen up a little?

  • Some muslims moved in next door. What should I do?

I am scared. I haven't left the house in over a day. They even came to my door the other day, carrying what looked like food. They might have been trying to poison me. Anyways, I am really freaked out now. I saw one of them through their window the other day and it looked like they were performing some kind of strange ritual like they were worshiping their wall or something. I don't know what to do. Even my dad is freaked. He tells me not to trust them.

  • How would you react to a suicidal westerner blowing himself up just to kill some terrorists?

Imagine there was a Canadian atheist who used to be a muslim. The problem is that he has become extremely suicidal lately. He decides to end his life and to take down some bad guys with him. His solution? Join ISIS or the Taliban. Except when it comes time to go blow himself or to kill some innocent people. What he does instead is turn on the terrorists and blow himself up there so he could take them all down with him. How would you react to someone like that? Would he be a hero or just a murderer?

  • My girlfriend won't let me evict my tenants. Is she being unreasonable?

I've rented out my basement to a 19 year old girl and her 12 year old brother. They're both very sweet and well behaved but the girl is having alot of trouble paying her rent. They don't have any family to support them (parents passed away recently) and they are in ALOT of debt. The girl is genuinely trying her best but it doesn't seem to be enough. She's still behind on her payments. I've tried reducing the rent but it hasn't changed things too much. I've been thinking about evicting them so they could go somewhere cheaper but my girlfriend wont let me. My GF moved in with me a while ago but she doesn't pay any of the bills because she's still a student. I own the house so the financial stuff is my problem. I developed the basement so i could have an additional source of income, I didn't do it as an act of charity. My gf has become really attatched to my tenants. She's always bringing them food and gifts. She spends alot of time with them and treats them as if they are her own younger siblings or something. Which is fine with me, I'm not trying to be mean but this attachment of hers is preventing her from looking at things objectively. She says it would be cruel to kick them out. What am I supposed to do here?

  • My roommates girlfriend says I'm not allowed to let girls stay the night at my place. Is she just crazy?

My roomate started dating this chick a few months ago. I didn't like her from the start. She was always really controlling and she's basically turned my roommate into her own little servant. The other day, she's at our place and you know what she does? She comes up to me with a list and says "these are the new rules for our place". As in MY place, not hers. She doesn't live there and still, she's trying to make up some rules and stuff. Anyways, one of her "rules" was that I was no longer allowed to let girls stay the night. They could come over to hang out, but I couldn't sleep with them. Why? Because she was worried about her own boyfriend being seduced into cheating on her. It is absolute garbage. I just snapped at that point. I told her if she even attempt to tell me what to do in my place again, then I would physically pick her up and throw her out of the house. My roommate is mad at me for yelling at his girl. I told him to man up and find someone who isn't so bossy. I mean seriously, what gives her the right to make rules for a house she doesn't even live in? Especially for such a ridiculous reason. Is she just crazy?

  • I attacked a guy who was bullying me. Did i go too far?

He has bullied me for the last year or so but I've always just put up with it. I've tried talking to people but it hasn't changed anything. All he ever gets is a slap on the wrist. The other day at school, he started insulting me out of no where. I was in no mood for his nonsense. I had just learned that one of my really good childhood friends from back in Syria was killed the night before ( he was still living in Syria). I had been crying all night. Now this jerk comes up to me and starts insulting me for no reason. I was already in a horrible mood but this just pushed me over the edge. He eventually tried to push me. At this point I snapped and bit his hand. I bit down so hard, he started bleeding. He screamed and started crying, begging me to let go. After I let him go, he looked at me with the most terrified expression. So did everyone around us. They all backed away from me as I walked to class. The school suspended me for a few days. Did i really go too far given my mental condition at the time?

  • (poll) Should I evict my tenant?

She's 19 years old and has a 12 year old brother. Her parents passed away recently and she's buried in a mountain of debt with no relatives to support her. She does all she can to support herself and her brother but she's been having alot of trouble paying her rent. She still hasn't fully paid off her rent from the last 2 months. Should I just kick her out
