Can you insulate a concrete house s cavity walls?
Hi,
I m a shared homeower and our house is freezing! Even with the sun shine today I m sitting in the dining room with cold/numb fingers and nose.. It s literally colder in than out as always.
Having been quoted aound 16k for external insulation, we could never afford that.
We could pay privately and have cavity wall insualtion for just £490.
However im just really concerned it can cause problems like damp in the future?
I m told the house is made of poured concrete with wide enough cavity for insulation
I m told my neighbours have cavity insulation in theirs which is exactly the same as ours. Anyone else had this issue or know if it is not recommended?
Thank you
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs4 years agoAre we now in a new tax year?
So I became self employed back in August 2015 and have made a few thousand.
I just want to doulbe check that I now just have to go onto the government website and fill out a tax return form?
I m also employed part time. I m guessing on payday (friday) the year-to-date info on my payslip will be back to £0 rather than what i ve earned last tax year?
Can I now go on to the gov website and do my tax return for 2015-16?
The other thing, i work 1 day a week for somebody self employed --- i send a monthly invoice to them. On the latest invoice some work on there is before 5th april and some is after 6th april, however the total invoice will be paid this week on friday. Will the whole amount of that invoice be put into just my 2016-17 books? Or does the work i done last tax year need to go into last tax years books and the days ive worked this tax year go into this tax years books? Or shall I just put the total into this tax years books as I ll be paid it this tax year? IF that makes sense??
Thank you

10 AnswersLaw & Ethics5 years agois this classed as copyright?
I m just about to apply for a tv show and the application allows for photos of myself.
I ve been told you re more likely to get on the show if you show you love it.
So, I ve taken a screenshot of the time I was shown close up in the audience on the TV behind the celebrity that was being filmed so the photo shows the player I was watching the show back on (the pause button etc) along with the celebrity and just me in the background close up.
Would I get in trouble under copyright laws etc. if I put that picutre on and sent the application in?

4 AnswersLaw & Ethics5 years agoWill I get time off work for adult circumcision ?
So the doctor can't give me a circumcision as the NHS will only do it for three reasons - cancer, scarring and some other reason I can't remember.
My only option now is to pay privately for it.
My concern is getting time off work, and having to tell my employer why I need time off.
Will my doctor of the private health providers give me a note for my employer? Will my employer have to give me time off? How long is a good amount to take off work?
I'm a home delivery driver so pretty Manual job

3 AnswersUnited Kingdom6 years agoAnyone been on a flying lesson experience?
So I got given a flying lesson experience for a half hour introductory flight.
I m really nervous as I don t know what to expect. I ve never flown a plane before even though I really want to try it which is why I am going.
How will I know what way to fly the plane and how far left or right to turn or how steep to go up or down etc.?
I have this horrible feeling that I m going to have a really stressy or horrible instructor that will shout at everything I do.
Thanks for any advice.
1 AnswerAir Travel6 years agoRenault Clio rear footwell soaking wet ?
Hi
I have a Renault Clio Dynamique and the footwell in the back behind the drivers door is soaking wet like a sponge. When I press it water just lifts up out of the carpet. I've checked the sunroof area and ensured the draining on the sunroof isnt blocked.
Where else could the water be getting into? theres no water on the seats, drivers chair or anywhere else - just literally a puddle on the floor. Everytime I dry it up it gets soaked again within a few days..
Thanks for reading.
3 AnswersRenault7 years agoHas anyone been in the audience of big brothers bit on the side ?
I was just wondering if anyone has been before? What's the experience like? Do ya get to meet the celebrities etc. when the cameras aren't rolling? Do they make the audience do all these warm excersices and dancing that other shows make the audience do? Is it worth going? I do like being in the audience of tv shows

3 AnswersProgramming & Design8 years agoPlease can someone help me with a bit of CSS ?
I've created a website by redesigning a drupal 7 theme, but for some reason, the content and front region (the front region is where the coloured boxes appear) have scroll bars, and i have to scroll across to read the text. I just want it to be a fixed width so all of the text appears on the screen and there are no scroll bars.
Im not sure what i should add or remove from the CSS sheets to have a fixed width with no scroll bars. Please could some one help me with this? I would be so greatful as im working on it for a client and cant seem to fix it no matter how much i try.
The website im working on is http://www.mediamatterswebdesign.co.uk/
Thanks.

2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agohelp me with mapping network drives please?
I have a drive in one of my windows 7 computers that is used as a server. four other computers can connect to this via mapping network drives without any problem and have been working since i set the drives up. however the windows xp computer keeps disconnecting. I have recenetly set up the network drive again and it worked for a few days. then it stopped and said 'disconnected network drive' and i cannot access the drive through my network places either.
it keeps on doing this, but if i restart the computer acting as a server, i have access again from the xp computer for maybe a few days. All the Win7 computers work fine, any ideas?
I have carried out the disconnect: -1 command in command prompt on the xp computer, and it said command successful and the connection worked for a few days and stopped again. this morning, i could access the drive from the xp computer. 2 mins later i tried to open a document from the drive and i couldnt as the drive was disconnected again.
thanks
