I began my forced distribution from my 401k when I reached 70-1/2 based on the value of the plan at that time using the IRS equation for the minimum annual withdrawal. Since that time there has been a large increase in the plans value. It's now worth substantially more than when I began withdrawals. Do I need to increase my annual withdrawal amount or can I leave things as they are?

I'm having trouble keeping current.

Did anyone watch them installing the teleprompter for Romney's acceptance speech tonight at the convention center on TV? They showed them installing it this morning on the today show. It might be a new record. That sucker is almost as big as a scoreboard at a stadium. Just wondering what those of you who criticize Obama for his use of a teleprompter have to say about it.

Gold, silver, and bronze medalists are awarded $25,000, $15,000, and $10,000 respectively by the US Olympic committee. I'm wondering if that money is divided between team members in team events or does every team member get the entire amount.

The usual stated purposes of a free education in the US is to provide an educated workforce and an educated electorate. Illegals can't work and can't vote. Can someone explain why we give them an education?

The reason I ask is I have seen several answers selected as "best answer" which will result in serious legal consequences if they are followed.
