  • Why do people think faith is a value?

    I'm always hearing from politicians and the media about how faith is a value, but I don't understand how having belief without or in spite of evidence can be a value in and of itself. People can have faith in anything. Is this statement empty rhetoric that generically appeals to people of all faiths, or do people actually believe that faith itself is an intrinsic value?
