how can I find out if I can put a intel 2.8 (p4) processor in this machine?

I bought a computer a fresh install, so the only software I have for the cdrw and dvd rom is windows media player? windows media player says no disk in drive D: or E:. When I put a linux os cd it will read in when I am booting then I cancel the os install. So why is a disk read at boot up and not any other time? windows media player plays utube videos fine? the device manager says both devices are working properly? Should the devices burn? and if I do have to do some free software do I have an all in one software for audio,video, and burn or do have to do three downloads? tia i'm a newbie to fixing cd's

we have a HP Pavilion 061 PY196AV-ABA a1130e 0p[1211CT101AMBEM00 with 256 memory the scan says we can add 3 gigs of ddr pc3200 400mhz. I want to add http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8... and I believe the origional ram is cl3. Im guessing take out the 256 stick(cl3) and just run the 2 gigs of cl2, if i keep the 256 stick in wont the computer run off the cl3 instead of the cl2? does this computer accept other ram ? I hear dells dont accept other ram very well. Do I need to go to bios to adjust voltage etc or should this configure automatically

im putting an upstream o2 sensor on 98 saturn sw2 with 161k mi. only 1 code and it says front o2 sensor, will the service engine soon light go off automatically after some cycles? will it go off instantly when new o2 sensor is replaced? ,what id usually done? taking off battery terminals for 30 minutes doesnt sound right? Im installing an oem part so no splicing

I had this same problem three mos. ago and I installed another flash player and it worked for a couple of mos. It is my mothers computer, out of town, How can I find out what flash player I installed, I looked on add and delete programs I couldnt find it, we have internet explorer. msg says java may be turned off, it is on, why doesnt adobe work, we have win 2000, ?my computer at home had win 2k and the adobe flash player works, we both have a good dsl connection

airhandler is in attic, heatpump is outside, airconditioner works fine, heater only heats up to 65 degrees, after that it blows cold air. thermostat settings are on auto and heat. what is em heat? system is goodman model# cpke4b-1b, and serial# 9611063989.

i try to play a video and it says download adobe flash player? I did and no help. it also says download plug ins i did no help, the monitor has no speakers (it has a microphone) could that be it? is it because of dial up? monitor is hp pavilion mx70 model# p1283s, it has a microphone but no speakers, i will add speakers tomorrow. pc is hp pavilion 9680c 256 k ram 651 mhz

I prime the carb 5 times before it runs continually, in south texas we only have to mow every 6 weeks. Would a primer bulb work? like the ones on a outboard motor boat? if so do I install it between fuel filter and carb, or between tank and fuel filter? fuel filter is good, carb is clean,

after the car sits overnight, i get the black and white smoke when starting , i have to rev the engine for 15 sec(or it will die), then it runs fine all day. Im guessing oil is getting in the cylinder and then it burns off and then runs normal? im getting worse gas mileage, ive changed spark plugs,valvecover gasket,pcv valve, I also have a slight hesitation when taking off from a stop . when i had the valve cover off i checked the chain connected to the dohc(no slack) is this the timing chain? How do i adjust timing, the distributer cap does not do it. i believe im running rich on gas, and maybe oil getting in the cylinder? thanks in advance for info

Im thinking of buying a used car that is origionally from tampa, he said it was garage kept, is this a rust bucket? any info would be appreciated, i dont know if it was garage kept or not, what can i inspect to see if problems because of being on the coast?

I have a felony (theft of a truck) 19 years ago,,im 41 years old. 2 dwi's, permitting dwi,0ver 20 years ago, cussing in public 16 years ago, and minor in poss of alchol? I cannot remember all the mip's? im tring to get into the army? but i need waivers? what are my chances. this stuff is 20 years old, i havent drank in 10 years, im married w a 13yearold and a 4 yearold, what if a minor charge comes up,(that i cant remember) mip ticket? I dont want to get booted out for lying on my application?
