Since I was quite young I have bitten my nails. It's not just a case of biting them when I'm bored or nervous, it has become a habit and I often do it unconsciously. I also bite them way past the quick, so that they often hurt or bleed. I have tried, in the past, to quit biting them, but I find using the bad-tasting nail polish or putting plasters over my nails does not deter me. Also, even if I do stop for a while, I will always get back into the habit so I'm not sure what to try now. Would it be worth visiting my doctor? And if so, what sort of things would they suggest? Are there are other methods that chronic nail-biters could try?

Is it a series' run? (looks most correct, but would suggest multiple series)

A serie's run? (just looks wrong to me)

Or do you leave the apostrophe out altogether?

The sentence I'm trying to write is 'half-way through the series run, Joel left.'

Any help is much appreciated, I can't find anything about this on Google!

If it weren't for the white pickups and controls, you wouldn't be able to tell that it had yellowed slightly, but because of them, you can see that the scratchplate is slightly off colour. Is there anything I can use do to get the scratchplate back to it's original colour, except for buying a new one? (it's a cheap spare guitar I leave tuned to drop C, hence no /absolute/ desperation, but I'd love if there is some magic cleaning product that could rewhiten it).

I saw a bird in flight and I can't work out what it is. It had hooked wings, something between a Kestrel and a Swallow. It was about the same size as a Kestrel, I would say. It had a fairly long, flat tail, straight and square...same shape as a ruler. :P

It wasn't flapping it's wings or swooping or anything, just gliding.

I'm guessing it was some kind of bird of prey, but I've looked through a bird book and couldn't find anything like it. :( Either the wings were the wrong shape or the tail was wrong.

I live in the south of England, about twenty miles in land from the sea. Does anyone have any idea what bird this could've been?

On another note: I saw a barn owl today, too, at four in the afternoon. o.O

I've never really been a fan of mainstream anime like Naruto and whatever. I love weird anime, stuff that makes you think. I loved Serial Experiments Lain, Ghost in the Shell, Ergo Proxy, Paranoia Agent, FLCL etc. amongst others, and am looking for some more interesting, intelligent anime.

I guess you could say I'm a fan of the mindf--k genre, any recommendations?

Some of my friends have to read and re-read lyrics before they can begin to remember the words! I've met some people who have pretty good memories but can only memorise a few songs. I have a terrible memory but I can memorise a song after hearing it a few times, I know hundreds of songs off by heart. Why is this? Is it something to do with the way we listen to music? (I'm a big music fan.)

How many songs do YOU know off by heart? How easily to you remember the lyrics?

I was trying to watch videos on Youtube but it told me that I needed to enable Javascript or install the latest version of Adobe Flash, so I installed the lastest version which is 10.something and it still would not work. I uninstalled Flash 10, followed instructions on the Adobe website to change some registry files which would enable me to install Flash 10 properly, and after reinstalling I could watch videos on Youtube. However, videos on Megavideo were still not working. I uninstalled Flash 10 and installed Flash 9 as some people have said would fix the problem, but now neither Megavideo or Youtube will load any videos. In Megavideo the actual player never loads and there is a black space instead, it's the same with Youtube. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? I've tried everything I can think of.

I'm just curious, what are the long and short term effects of a lack of sleep? I only got four hours sleep a few days ago and nearing the end of the following day I began to get light spots across to the right of my field of vision and had a headache, so I went to sleep. I don't plan on doing it again any time soon, but what happens to people who often get very little sleep? (BESIDES feeling tired, duh.) Thanks. :)

I haven't played Petz 5 for years but I reinstalled it for fun and decided I wanted to take more than 2 Petz out at once. I know I downloaded a toolbar addon/mod thing once that allowed this and all sorts of other stuff (aging, editing Petz etc) that sat next to the "help" button on the taskbar. Does anyone know the name of this addon and where I could download it from? (It was unoffical, ie it was made by a fan and not by UBIsoft or whatever.)

I'm trying to download an album and right now it is counting UP the remaining time instead of down.

I recently installed some extra language packs for Word but I don't see why this would've put them there.

I've looked EVERYWHERE.View settings, margin settings, page settings, and I can't see how to make them go away. D:

Anyone know how I can get rid rid of them?

When I extract the songs they are in no specific format and so I cannot play them. When they are still in the zip I can see they are mp3s but Windows doesn't like that they have very long file names, I cannot rename them! Is there any way I can get my music OUT of the zip folder, without corrupting the files, so I can listen to it?

I never really watched horror films before but I've discovered I really like them xD what are some good ones I can watch? I don't care what rating they are, I wanna know some "classics" I should watch first like The Shining etc. that are great films from the genre. :3 Thank you!

Would it be better to skip lunch or to just have a light lunch if I'm going to be having a big dinner later? I have a pretty small appetite so I never eat much! I've been outdoors today so I've had excercise, I know that helps.

I never been to a concert before, I'm gonna go see Escape the Fate play next month. What kind of stuff do I need to bring?

I'd be happy to seed torrents for months, but I want to know if seeding many torrents at once will slow my computer of my download speeds.
