  • Cooperative bank in Cyprus?

Does anyone have any news on whether deposits of over e100k will be 'taxed' in the Cooperative bank in Cyprus as well as the other two main banks?

Also will this tax occur if there is e100k is in one persons name but not in one lump sum? For example if someone has 50k, 20k 80k?

    Thanks

If I am named on a bank account and I am an authorised signator on other accounts, can I have access to the money in the accounts? I know that as a signator its been set up as "anyone to sign". But am I entitled to the money or am I 'allowed' to have access to it?

  • EMF detectors issues on ghost hunts?

I seem to have an issue with EMF detectors on paranormal investigations. When things get a bit 'scary' for me, the EMF detector near me seems to dim so much that it seems to be off. It still lights up when there's activity but when there's none and its next to me it appears to die. I did it to three different EMFs last night, one was mine with new batteries. It's fine today, now I'm at home. Everything is back to normal. Any ideas?

  • Is there any way that a person can manipulate a ouija board without physically touching it ?

I have recently joined a ghost hunting group and the ouija board is used as a tool regularly. The last three times I have been on a hunt, I have had a message come through to me from my grandad. On two occasions, I wasn't even on the ouija board and I had to be called as the message was for me. My friend also had a 'call' on the divining rods. The thing that bothers me is that he tries to come through when strangers are on the board and I am not even in the room. When I do sit next to the board not everything is correct. Infact last night I tried to work out how this could be faked by the company that hosts the hunts. I can't see how they could do it but I am not convinced that the spirit is who it says it is either. Direct questions are answered wrong. Facts about my life are correct. It's just as if a person who knows me, knows my life but doesn't know my history.

Any ideas? It's beginning to bother me.

  • If someone falls pregnant whilst having a herpes outbreak, is there a chance of miscarriage? ?

The problem is that they had a miscarriage about 6 months ago. They are now 7 weeks pregnant and they've just spotted. The herpes outbreak was really nasty when she found out she was expecting. There were blisters on the lower parts and on her back too. She was really sick with it. What do you think? Bad news or not? Thanks for your advice.

  • How long after an accident can someone claim on your car insurance?

I accidentally scuffed a friends car in January and I have told her that she can make a claim on my insurance. I am not claiming for damage on my car at the mark is so small, its not worth bothering with. I told her to give me her fax details so I could fax over my insurance info and she hasn't bothered. Last week (nearly 10 months later) she said that she'll get on with it this week but she hasn't bothered to phone me. Obviously I'm not chasing her. My policy expires in Nov - what happens next? How does she claim and if she can't am I expected to pay? She did mention that we could say that it happened last week but I feel really uncomfortable about this... what do you think?

  • Wedding cake decorating?

Does anyone know if I can place the top cake directly onto the bottom one or do I need to place something between them to stop the top one crushing the bottom one? Both cakes are heavy fruit cakes that have been fed with rum.

I am a total novice and I have some friends who are getting hitched on the cheap and they have asked me to do the cake - OMG! I am quite good at sculpting and painting icing but I'm not very good at making smooth flat icing. Any tips would be greatfully received...

  • How do you get rid of the tips box on Yahoo Answers?

It drives me insane. You can't animate your punctuation, all proper nouns are spelling errors, and it just clutters up the page. Can we switch it off?

  • What does "Nine months supervision order" mean exactly? ?

I was just wondering how this worked practically and how serious this was. The specific case in question involves someone hurting a 17 year old and a female.

  • Does anyone else struggle with their kids homework?

I'm sure its to do with being out of practise, being tired all the time and not remembering -

Does anyone out there use algebra regularly? Why do we need Venn diagrams and does anyone really care particularly where they stick their apostrophes? I don't mean in the usual way of where we miss a letter but the tricky way where something belongs to someone etc.

It's bad news - I've had to book myself on a free refreshers course at the library on fractions, percentages and decimals, just to keep one step ahead of my 9 year old and believe it or not, I don't consider myself as a dumbo charlie. Is it just me or are there more struggling parents out there????

  • USA - Latter Day Saints?

I heard on the World news of the house of abuse that has been discovered and that 400 children have been taken into care. I just wondered whether your welfare system would cope with such an amount of people financially and physically within the same state, or would you have to move the children to where they could be accomodated. Also not knowing anything about the Latter Day Saints - how does the religion work regarding multiple partners and the religious age allowed for sex and children? I know you have the laws of the land which should be abided by but I wondered what the religion says.

  • Am I breaking parking laws?

I parked my car opposite someones drive. They could get in and out of their driveway easliy. I wasn't near any junctions etc, not on the path, just opposite their drive.

This grumpy rude old man told me that he didn't want anyone to park there and if he hit my car accidently with his huge Volvo it wouldn't be his fault as he had one arm.

Obviously I shan't park there is a hurry, but am I parking illegally? If he hit my car (or anyone elses), would I be in the wrong or him?

  • What's the cheapest holiday you have had?

Where did you go, what did you do and how much did it cost?

I've just been to Cromer on the Norfolk coast in my tent. 5 of us for £15 a night for 7 nights. I cooked each meal and packed up lunches. Cost less than £250 and we did everything we wanted to including hiring a boat. Kids loved it - one of the best hols we've ever had.

  • Has anyone got any idea of what liquors I could make with damsons?

Last year I made sloe gin and it was delicious and very popular at Christmas. I'm making twice as much this year. However, I have found a damson tree and heard that you can make damson rum or damson brandy. Anyone got any ideas or recipes please. Cheers.

Regardless of what they have worn or what towel they use to dry themselves, the fluff that collects in that little pit is always blue.

  • What do you think of the family who threw their mother on the rubbish tip?

I heard on the news that an elderly lady who was disabled was thrown on the rubbish tip somewhere in India by her youngest daughter. What's going on? What will happen to the poor old lady and what punishment will the family receive?
