  • Trying to decide Cocker Spaniel or french bull dog?

My husband and I a exploring the idea of getting a dog for our family. He loves the cocker spaniel breed, I have never actually been around that breed. But growing up we had a springer spaniel, and it was a bitter. I know not only is every breed different, but also every dog is different. I have read up on both breeds the cockers and the french bulldog. I just want to know what some actual owners think. When we get the dog our children will be 2 and 3 years old. Any words of advice. Also I know before we decide at all I need to talk my kids for a meet and greet with the dog we are looking at.

  • To parents who have boys and girls, ?

I know every child is different, but I was wondering if your sons seemed slower in development then you daughters. My daughter was walking at ten months, saying a few words. My son is eleven months today and shows no interest what so ever in walking or talking. He just started pulling himself up to stand at the couch, and then just screams until you help him down. He doesn't seem like he wants to even try saying mama or dada or baba.

I am no worried I am just wondering if it is a boy thing, or if my daughter was more advanced.

    Thank you in advance.

  • How long do you need to keep a refrigerate off if you transport it lying down?

We are having a refrigerate brought up from about 5 hours away from us. The only way we are able to get it is lying down in the back of a mini van. My husband heard somewhere you need to keep it off to let the freon settle, but we weren't sure how long. Anyone know?

  • Potty training advice, please help!!!?

My two year old, seems like she is ready to start potty training, you know telling me she needs to go, or telling me when she went. She knows how to pull you pants up and down. But when it comes time to sit on the potty she won't stay there. And if I can get her to stay there, we sit there for up to 15 minutes, and she won't go. Example this morning we sat there for 15 minutes and nothing, then 10 minutes after we got up she pooped, and freaked out. Any ideas, I don't want a 3 yr. old in diapers, and I am sure I am being silly but I have this weird feeling my 10 month will be ready to potty train before or when my 2 yr. old is. Thanks in advance.

  • I need some advice, my friend lost her child.?

I have a friend who lives back east in a another state, and I am trying to find way to let her know I care. Well here is the situation. She was 34 wks pregnant and 2 weeks before her scheduled c-setion she heard a placental abruption. The baby didn't make and she coded twice on the OR table. She ended up in ICU, on a vent. She is physically doing better now. She was sent home, to recover and heal.

Well to my question now, I am trying to decide what would be more appropriate considering I live 2000 miles away, should I send flowers to the baby's funeral or should I send a small sympathy bouquet to her house. When my mother died, which is completely different then losing your child they sent it to my home. Since I can't make it to the hospital, can't be there to just sit and be with her, and I don't want to bother her on the phone. What do you find to be the best thing to do.

I am a mother of two and couldn't and wouldn't want to imagine what she is going through. But what to let her know I am thinking of her.

  • Question for men who have had a vasectomy?

My husband had one on friday, I know it has only been a couple of days. But I feel so bad for him, he says the pain isn't getting any better. How many days did it take for you to start to feel a little better? I know every man is different, I just want to let him know there is light at the end of the tunnel. He thinks the pain wasn't worth it.

  • Question for any moms who have had a c-section....?

I am 6 weeks post-op as of yesterday, when I was closed up, they just did internal sutures and glues the outside. I was wondering if anyone who had the same type of closer had any trouble with the healing. My wound seems to still be bleeding a little, there is no pain or redness. I have a call out to my OB to ask him, I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this, and how long it took to completely recover?

  • Toddler eating habits...?

My daughter is 17 1/2 months old, and about two weeks ago she has decided she isn't going to eat anything. She use to be a really good eater, but now she will pick at the food and maybe take 3 bites at the most. It doesn't matter what we feed her. I know they go though stages and are picky at times, but is this normal???? My husband and I are starting to get a little concerned, but she still acts fine.

Okay I have a 16 month old and a 2 week old, my 16 month old today decided to pull the poop out of her diaper and bring it to me, she has been hitting me, and kicked the baby this afternoon. • For all you teens having sex......?

I have a question for all of you. What makes you think you are ready, and mature enough to start having sex. Did your parents ever give you the "birds and bees talk"? Also before you became sexually active did you know about all forms of birth control and prepare yourself and learn how to use it? I am asking because there always seems to be a bunch of pregnant teens asking about, abortions, and if they are pregnant, and what not? Oh one more question, do you ever think about STD's when you are having sex?

  • Breastfeeding?

My son is a week old, and will not latch on. I started pumping but feel like I am not producing enough milk,

example: I will pump and get an ounce, and two hours later there is only likr a 1/2 ounce. So I what a little longer and only a half ounce.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get him to latch on to the breast.

I gave up after a couple of days with my daughter, and just gave her formula. I am really trying to avoid that this time.

  • What is it with names people give their children these days?

I don't know is it me or are the names babies are being given these days just ridiculus. Do the parents think about the children and when they start school, these kids need to learn to spell their name and teachers and other need to be able to pronunce them. It irratates me when someone has a name that you try to and they get offended because their parents gave them some name that makes no sense. Sorry I need to vent after reading some of the names people ask about in here.

I must be boring my children's names are

    Nicole Melanie and Joshua Richard.
