  • I like this girl but she's really shy and hard to talk to?

She's like REALLY shy. What can I say to start a conversation that would make her feel comfortable and a bit more loose, but at the same time not creepy?

  • Leaving my baby rabbits alone?

Im leaving the country for a week tonight but a couple of days ago my female bunny gave birth to three pups, one of which was dead. Theyre in a perfect setup atm and the mum seems very comfortable, and is definitely feeding them. While im away ive got a "sitter" that's simply going to clean out the hutch and feed them, which is a little less than what I would've done, so will the babies and the mum be ok without my supervision for the next week (any diseases etc to look out for)?

  • My rabbit just gave birth! Is there anything else I can do?

She gave birth to 4-7 babies this morning (I wasn't sure as she's nested the black babies in her black fur that she shed two days ago). Theyre in a tin box laying sideways with a "lip" about 3 inches from the floor to prevent the babies from crawling out, and below the fur that theyre laying in there are wood shavings. The mum seems normal, staying on top of/around the nest and not always going inside. I haven't seen her feeding but then again im not monitoring her 24/7 and she's getting fed well, so I don't think that's a problem. She lives with another female and a male. Should I remove the male (who isn't showing any hostility)? And should I remove the other female? Also should I feed the mum anything other than the regular pellets plus fruit and veg? Thanks :)

  • Oscar VS Piranha: Who would win?

If a full grown piranha and a full grown oscar were to fight over territory or food or whatever, in a 1v1, who would win? If the answer is the oscar then what other aquarium fish would be able to beat the oscar?

PS I'm not thinking about trying this at all. I wouldn't have the heart (or the money..).

  • Question about my 3 goldfish?

3 goldfish (two orandas one fantail), still young - around 3 inches big - and one of them (an oranda) has a habit of sticking her nose into the backside of the other two and chasing them around the tank. Are they old enough to be mating?

PS the other two don't really seem to mind.

  • Is my oranda going to be ok?

I've had Miranda for almost a year now and throughout that year she's been my most energetic and fun- to-play-with fish. She still is, but now she just looks like a normal white goldfish...The red cap she had has slowly faded until now and there are now no signs of it. It was never a "growth" as such, just a blotch of red on her skin, not like other orandas (maybe a fake oranda?). Should I be worried? She's still just as active in her 15 gallon tank with a filter rated for 55. Is this something to be worried about?

    She's around 2-3 inches long.

    Thanks for any answers!

  • Why is my oranda's cap fading?

I have a 3 inch red-cap oranda goldfish (called miranda, if it helps). I've had her for just over 9 months, and she's always been healthy and active. She's kept in 18-20 degrees celsius, 17 gallon tank with a filter rated for 40 gallons and she's alone in the tank.

For the past two days her usually bright red cap has turned into a more dull orange (it's always been just a cap, not a bubble). She's still eating like a pig, exploring the tank, playing as she used to but the discolouration is quite worrying. So my question is, should I be worried and what should I do?

The only real danger I could think of was the massive shell on one side of the tank which could have maybe had a part to play?

Oh and also, there are a few ramshorn snails that arrived with the shell ( i think) and i just left them there..

    Thanks!

  • Is it okay to have a constant supply of worms for my fish?

I got a bunch of live worms from my trusted LPS and put them in a feeder. I use them to condition my two bettas for breeding, and I occasionally feed them to my goldfish.

My question is, is it bad with having a constant supply of live worms in a tank? The worms are currently in a holder/feeder in my fry tank and the guppy and molly fry love them. But they're constantly eating and getting a bit plump, and also I'm sure there's something wrong with having live worms in the tank 24/7..

PS the worms are part of a diet of flakes, pellets, a home-made gel food and freeze-dried tubifex worms (weekly) for my fish, so the worms aren't the only food.

    Thanks in advance :)
