i have 5 gears, and i have R (reverse gear) obviously. so would i call my car a 5 speed or a 6 speed....

basically, is reverse included? i have always thought its not, but iv noticed some people have 5 gears but call their cars a 6 speed because they have reverse too...

I just bought a tdi golf (2000) and i have some questions:

1) what rpm should i shift at (5speed)? i have not driven a diesel before

2) what are the 0-60mph times? just wondering

3) is this car reliable? are there any commonly occurring issues i should keep an eye out for?

4) the previous owner told me to keep the rpms higher than on a gas because diesels dont like low rpms? is this true? what rpms should i keep the car at? i want to be sure to get the best life out of my car, i want the clutch to last.

5) the previous owner told me 1000-1100 out of a tank of fuel, is this true? for 20$ of diesel priced at 1$ even , how many kms can i drive?

6) the timing belt is past due? is this a big deal? it was last changed at 210000kms and now the car is 360000kms, the car has been well maintained and lady driven so it is in outstanding condition.

7) what is the bolt pattern? what other cars have the same bolt pattern, what other VW/golfs(years) have the same bolt pattern? want to get myself some nice rims. and id like to know which rims are intercompatible to make finding a used set easier.

8) how to get the best performance?

9) what are some quick/cheap mods/things i can do to boost the performance?

i was driving under the influence of Marianna (Weed), i got pulled over, car impounded, got a warning had to go pick up my license (no charge, the cop just handed it to me and said "next time you wont be so lucky").

My question is, will this show up on my driving record or drivers abstract?

I want to apply for a job, they need a drivers abstract which is why im asking.

A few questions:

In wikipedia it said the wolfsburg edition only came in VW 8-valve SOHC 2.0L engine, what type of engine is this? gas or deisel? i cannot find it on any website, is this a more powerful engine than standard golfs? or weaker? is it reliable? fuel efficient? how much HP in comparison to other golfs in the same series?

Does the 1999 golf wolfburg edition have the same body as an mk3 golf (for example an 1995 golf) or is it longer? i need to know because im interested in getting a body kit.

what years and parts are compatible?

my power steering and cooling belt recently went, it over heated and i pulled over right away. it also blew up the coolent resovior tank.

now here is the thing, i replaced the belt, but it still overheats, and spits and bubbles from the rad, not to bad when i idle, but when i drive coolent and water goes everywhere. i havent replaced the resovior tank, but this doesnt effect the car, this is just the over flow for when it DOES overheat.

so i fill up the rad with water, put the lid on. and go for a drive.

ok everything is going good, temp normal for about 5 minutes, then bam, starts going up.

here is the wierd thing, then the needle then goes back and forth a bit, and sometimes it actually cools all the way back to normal, and i can actually drive normally without overheating for 5-15 minutes, but then out of the blue it starts to go up again.

i beleive the pump is either working, or kind of working, if it was broken there wouldnt be bubbles.. right? bubbles show the pump is working,.. i think. well of course it is working because sometimes i can drive without it overheating.

when i just start it, and let it idle.. no problems, it can idle forever without overheating.

some people are telling me its my thermostat, but how could this be the problem?

im just very lost, i still have power steering so the belt is still there, all other belts are working, everything is working, the exaust has a hole in it, but i dont think this could be related.

another thing i wanna note, but it might not be the problem (and this has been happening since i bought the car, not since it started over heating, and it hasnt ever been a really big problem, but i feel i should mention it just in case) sometimes when i drive fast for a while, then come to a stop, and im idling at a red light, the rpms start to go up and down, like as if im reving the engine, when im not, they go up to like 2k rpms.. 2.5k rpms, then drop down to 500 rpms, then back up. repeatedly, until i start driving again. someone told me the broken exaust might be effecting an o2 sensor, but i dont see how this would effect the rpms.

the main thing is i need my car to stop overheating, i need you guys to tell me why you think its doing these things, its very strange.

now i just need t know if my rims will fit onto this car

currently on my mazda MX-6 1993 mystere

either 17" 18" or 19" (not sure)

i have a 1993 Mazda MX-6 Mystere and it has quite a lot of power, but the mx6 is a pretty heavy car, iv been told that it would be much faster if it the engine didnt pull so much weight.. Im looking for some ways to make it lighter? any heavy components that can be replaced with lighter ones? maybe things that can be taken out entirely? (even the less than legal options would be nice to know)

i recently downloaded a bunch of music, i then imported it into itunes, a lot of the tracks dont have the names or are not named correctly, itunes wont get the song information it says i have to import it through itunes. i remember i used to be able to get song info even on my mp3's, but now itunes will only do it when you import cds. i really dont want to burn all my music to cds then import back into itunes JUST to get the song information.

is there any way to force itunes to just get the damn song information? or is there an alternative program that will get all the song info and update it?

i would like to know how big of rims i can buy for my stock mx6.

i want to get 18" rims with low profile tires, and i want to lower my car 1-1.4 inches. will this cause problems? if the 18" rims would fit on a lowered mazda mx6, what size of low profile tires should i get? and for a set of four how much would it cost (not the rims, the low profile tires).

when people buy a new car, what they usually do is they bring a license plate from their old car, and put it on the car they bought (even tho the plate isnt meant for that vehicle) and drive it home or to the registries.

someone told me you are aloud to do that as long as its not for longer than 1 day.

i was interested in getting a 93 mazda mx6, its a really cheap buy (1000$). comes with a set of custom rims, about 150,000 kms on the engine, tranny and car frame. its a manual v6.

before i buy i want to know, what are the most commonly occuring problems with mx6's, i have never owned a mazda and i dont know anything about mazda, how good it is or how shitty it could be. i have been a honda integra freak for the last little while haha.

what problems could occur with this older car?

i dont mind working for an online company, or even a local company that hires work from home positions.

i just need to know how to do it, and what are the actual ways of doing it.

i dont want to spend/invest money, since i have none at the moment, i just want to get paid via email/paypal for doing something computer related from home.

how can i get/apply for any type of online job, that pays well (at least minimum wage, or more)
