  • For car alignments, what can cause toe - specifically to go out of whack.?

I understand how camber and caster could be affected by the eccentric bolts shifting due to impacts from things like potholes. I don't understand how toe specifically can lose alignment. On my car, the tie rod ends are spaced evenly, however the driver's side wheel has drastic toe out (maybe 3 degrees). My power steering pump failed several months ago, I'm not sure if that could be related. Essentially - I'm wondering if something on my car is broken to cause this seemingly drastic toe out on one side of the vehicle.

  • Problems accessing my hard drive, Please Help?

I have a SATA external hard drive I am trying to use. The drive formerly belonged to my old laptop, (running XP). I formatted this drive using the Windows XP Installation CD, without actually installing windows. Now I am trying to use this as an external on my current Laptop running Vista. My computer recognizes the drive, it shows up in the device manager, and it makes the connection sound when i plug it in. The drive however, DOES NOT show up on "My Computer". I have no way to acually access it. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

  • Do you think people will continue to believe in God and/or the supernatural regardless of advances in science?

For most of human history, God and religion were our only explanation for how the world worked and how humans came to exist. Today however, most educated people believe that science (through fields like evolution and cosmology) offers superior explanations for where we came from and how our physical world functions. Even complex “uniquely human” characteristics like morals can be scientifically explained through evolutionary psychology. This has lead many people to abandon religion seeing as it just seems silly to believe in old religious doctrine, especially ideas like creationism. Still, many people who legitimately understand and believe in evolution continue to believe in God.

There are at least two worldviews people have; the scientific and the religious/metaphysical.

The scientific worldview assumes that “all there is” consists of the physical, tangible universe, and that science could, in principle take in all that exists. In this model, god will slowly be squeezed out as he/she/it no longer serves any purpose.

The metaphysical worldview suggests that the tangible, physical world is only part of “all there is” and that science will therefore never be able to explain or describe God - because it is beyond the reach of science.

Which world view do you think is more valid, is it time to let go of god? Do you think humans will always be drawn to God or the supernatural?

  • Help! I broke/bent my suspension?

It rained today and i was sliding around in a tight but empty parking lot with my mx-5... after 15 minutes of fun I made a mistake...the car under-steered and I plowed into a curb at about 10-15 mph... Now my wheel is bent and has a slight wobble, but worse,(and a separate matter), the car now pulls strongly to the right instead of driving straight. Yes i know that was absolutely idiotic.... I'm guessing I bent some part of my suspension/frame. Does anybody have a good idea of what i broke and how much it will cost to fix?

  • Does DL Hughley have a college degree or any other formal education?

I've tried to figure out DL Hughley's education background on google with no luck.

I've seen his show "Breaking the News with DL Hughley" 3 or 4 times now and I can't help noticing his lack of insight. Honestly I think he's a clever guy and a decent entertainer. That said he seems ill fit to host a NEWS Show.. he clearly lacks intellectual depth. In a recent show, DL cracked a joke about Joe Biden's wife Jill teaching at a junior college... It's true..Jill Biden is an English professor at Northern Virginia Community College. Frankly though, I don't see how this is that funny, let alone worthy of mentioning on his show...

Anyhow, I'de be interested to know what kind of formal education DL Hughely has.. Please leave sources

  • Can anyone recomend Linux based laptops?

My 6 year old laptop finally died. It was a powerful computer when new, 512 MB RAM, and 1.3 Ghrz Centrino processor. I reinstalled windows every year to keep it running quickly and it held up great. My mother's brand new HP with far better specs takes 3 times longer to boot and is just plain slow. To be honest I'm sick of Windows and don't want to buy a new laptop with Vista. I've heard there are much cheaper and smaller laptops which run linux and can run Open Office and connect to the internet... Are there any brands or websites out there to order one? What are my options?

  • How bad is it to drop the clutch at high revs for a launch start?

I drive a 99 Miata and don't want to kill my clutch. I've only done this type of launch start twice but find it immensely fun. How bad is this for my car? would doing it another 10 times ruin my clutch/transmission?
