  • Social Security: Adding parents as dependents...will they lose benefits?

    Hello,

My parents are 66 and both collect Social Security. Money is tight for them & I'm considering taking them on as "dependents". In doing so, I'll be able to provide them with better health coverage via my plan from work.

My question is: Will they lose their Social Security benefits if I make them dependents? Are there any risks/"cons" in doing so?

    Thanks :)

  • Realtors: How do I find a good real that is making sales in my area?

    Hi,

I've went on to realtor .com and can see the list of recently solid homes in my area -but- I do not see the names of listing agents. How can I find a good realtor that is actively closing in my area?

  • Cost to have concrete poured on porch? (150 sq ft). Tile?

We have a 29 x 5 porch. It has two "planters" in it that we hate (9x 4 areas of mulch). How much should it cost us to have these filled in? Also, any idea on what it would run to tile ove the whole thing as well once the concrete is down? Thanks :)

  • Hair: What do I ask my stylist to do?

I've recently gotten some very bad haircuts. I think I may not be expressing myself correctly for "what" I want. Can you help me with "what" to ask for?

I have very thick hair (long) . I want beach bunny/Victorias Secret type hair. Something that I can get messy volume with (hot rollers etc) -but- that I can also pull up in a pony and have some pieces that soften the look around my face. I can't use product because of allergy issues. How would I describe this to the stylist?

    Thanks :)

  • Is his MRSA still contagious?

My father (66) had MRSA on his neck. They cut out the lump, and gave IV antibiotics in the hosptial from the 11th-18, then outpatient IV's from the 19th-7th (today). His doctor says he'll now follow up with a week of oral antibiotics. My questions is: I have some autoimmune issues and do not want to catch this. My husband and I are taking my father to an event in March and weren't sure if he is still contagious. Is he? Any advise is appreciated.

  • MRSA Questions: How long contagious? etc?

My father (66) was just dx'd with MRSA (Back of his neck). The oral meds aren't working and they want him to go to ER (he's diabetic and has only one kidney):

    1) How long do they generally keep you in hospital?

    2) How long is this contagious for?

    3) Are my husband and I "at risk" for catching this from him (we've had him in our car to go to an event earlier in the week but cleaned after we found out he has this)?

    Any advise is appreciated

  • MRSA: My dad just got diagnosed with MRSA...what to do?

My dad has what he thought was a boil on the back of his neck. The dr. lanced it and took a sample. That night, my husband and I took him (in our car) to the movies. Today, we found out that the test came back positve for MRSA. I have some immune system problems and need to know:

    1) We've cleaned the car with soap, alcohol wipes, and vacuumed...is this enough?

    2) What can we do to prevent catching this?

    3) For how long will he be contagious?

  • High IgG, Low Lymp, High RBC: What could it be?

    Hi,

Recent blood work showed High IgG, Low Lymp, and High RBC. What could this be? / Who to see?

    ________________

I'm 32, 115lbs, female. I have an adrenal issue (high 17-OHP), infrequent periods (always been this way) and as of late copius amounts of vaginal discharge (yellow/white) and burning (been tested for all STD's, trich Ph, Yeast etc---all negative). Gynos have been no help.

  • Blood Test: Low Lymph, High RBC, High IGM?

    Hi,

I have some hormone problems (high 17-OHP, high Testerone) along with minor heart issues (MVP, tricuspid regurg). 32 5'6 114 lbs. My most recent blood work came back with LOW Lymp HIGH rbc and HIGH igm. What might this indicate (and what type of doc to follow up with it?

    ________________

(Also, might be TMI but: I've had on going vaginal discomfort and discharge for the past year that the gyno can not figuer out---testing for everything under the sun. They think it might be hormone related; not sure if this factors in at all)

  • Husband Obsessive Masturbation?

What to do from here? I'm 32, married for 13 years. He's 34. I've always been much more sexual than he, but I'm able to deal with our imbalance in this. Recently, it's become more problematic though. We're down to (literarlly) 3 or 4 times a year. He does have some psych issues (depression, possible Biplar and several suicide attempts) so I try to work around not putting pressure on him. I asked a shrink before and they said his lack of interest might be from childhood trauma (he never stated this occured but he does have an uncle that went to jail for similar acts) -or- a powerplay.

Today, I had to use his phone. There were soooo many nake celeb and general porn pics on there. He claims to have "stomach problems" and disappears to the bathroom 3 or 4 times a day. What's kind of creepy, is when he "runs off' to use the bathroom (and download porn) it will be of something we just watched on tv (for example, Taylor Swift on tv last night, he runs off ot bathroom, boom, naked docotored Taylor Swift pics on phone). I haven't said anything to him b/c I don't want to set him off. But I'm ready, willing and able to be sexual (even if he isn't into traditional "sex" but is open to BJ's etc), haven't "let myself go", I'm not a nag etc. How would you proceed from here?

  • Low blood pressure and "Tricuspid Reguritation?"?

I've been feeling a little run down lately but assumed it was from hormones (I have an adreneal disorder). My blood pressure has been running at around 80/50, pulise 90-100. Had an Eco and it said mitra valve prolapose (minor) and mild Tricuspid Reguritation. Seeing heart doc next week.... Are these anything to worry about? What's the treatment?

  • Invisalign Reaction(swelling etc): Alternatives?

    Hi,

I've been using Invisalign for three months with no problems. My most recent set caused my lips to swell, crack and for two puffy areas to form under my lip/above my chin (looks like bulldog jowls). As it's the weekend, I'll be getting in touch with my dentist (he's not an ortho.) on Monday to have my "buttons" ground off and to discontinue treatment. What causes this and what are some hypoallergic solutions (I'm sensative to nickle) for fixing my teeth (Gapped)?

  • Legal: Empty lot; owner is not mowing it. Snakes, rats and bugs...oh my!?

We bought a small house and behind us an empty lot. In our county, you cannot report an un-mowed lot be mowed unless there is a house on it....so basically vacant lots can just grow and grow. The weeds have grown to about 3 ft, there snakes, rats, bugs etc. It's a fire hazard and not something we want behind us. We're in Florida; is there another way to go about getting this mowed?

  • Invisalign and Oral Sex?

    Hello,

I'm 32, married for 13 years and just got Invisalign w/attachements. I'm going on to my 2nd set of aligners and was wondering if it's ok to engage in oral sex during treatment? WIll it throw off the corrections that they're making (I have some spacing). Also, do I take them out or leave them in?

Slightly embarassing to ask, thus I"m posting here instead of bringing it up to the Orthodontist (Lol).

  • Legal: Taking home inspector to court, they made an offer?

We bought a house (in FL). The home inspector said it was fine less a few minor issues. We found out (within 2 weeks of purchase) that the trusses are rotted through. EVERY contractor we've had out for estimates, the structural enginer etc,. commented that they have no idea how this guy missed it. We're trying to sue for 20k (repair est. at 20-38k) as there is no way I would have bought the house if I knew it needed all this. He sent a counter to our attorney at 2k....where would you go with it from here?

  • Invisalign: Ringing/pressure in ears?

    Hi,

I'm 32 and got invisalign last Thursday(w/ attachments). The first 2 days were fine; by the weekend I had ringing in my ears and pressures that would come and go (kind of felt like the day after you go to a rock concert). Monday and Tuesday were fine, now the presssure/ringing has returned.

I called the dental office and they said to take them out for a few hours and see if that helps. The ringing has subsided -but- it went away with them in as well. What is causing this? Do you think it's the aligners or an unrealted coincidence (like seasonal allergies)? Any input is appreciated.

  • Ultrasound says "hetereogenous liver"...what does that mean?

I posted before but was told to include more info. Any help is appreciated:

Background: I'm 32, F, 118 lbs. Have cystic ovaries and suspected adrenal hyperplasia (high 17 OHP), Mitra valve prolapse and murmur. Went to doc with edema (this is what he wrote on ultrasound order---have also had lower abdom. bloat for a few years)...everything came back fine on ultrasound but report says "Hetereogenous Liver". I had a liver cyst once on a CT if that makes any difference. What does heterogenous liver mean and does it require a follow up?

(My doc is good, but his practice is large and they're not great with calling you back with results or for follow ups---any advise is appreciated).

Is this something that needs a follow up visit? What conditions can it indicate?
