Uhm...hi.

  • My parents won't let me spend the night with my friends?

After homecoming, a group of five of my closest friends (Colton, Haylee, Kristie, myself, and my boyfriend Aaron) are going to Colton's house for a movie night and a bonfire. I asked my parent's if I could go, and they said I could go until 12 but then they would have to pick me up. I assured them that we would be sleeping in different rooms and such but they refuse to consider that I am a responsible adult and forbid me to stay over. I really don't want to go and leave at 12 because I would feel like the "odd one out". What should I do?

(If it matters, here is some background info. Haylee and Colton are dating. We've been best friends for 3 years. I am not sexually active and am not planning on becoming sexually active for a long time. Although my friends drink, I don't and refuse to drink by all means. Thank you so much!)

  • Can you revise my thesis please?

I'm writing on unbiased and accepting classroom techniques and strategies. My thesis is:

Teachers can promote unbiased classroom relations by encouraging positive cross-cultural attitudes, advocating positive social interactions and providing students with an unprejudiced teacher role model.

I know, it's really bad right now, and I thank you in advance!!

  • What adults can learn from children research?

I have to research, write an essay and give a PowerPoint on something related with children (for a Child Education class). I recently saw Adora Svitak's "What Adults Can Learn from Kids" presentation, and found the topic really interesting. My idea was to pick out a few aspects of childhood that adults seem to loose over time, and talk about how observing and learning from children can better us as adults. The problem is, I have no idea where to start on this topic. Should I start by listing the aspects of childhood that we tend to forget as adults, and then focus on how we can better ourselves? Or is that too narrow of a topic? Or too vague of a topic? Help?

    THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

  • Translate 8 sentences to Spanish?

    The sentences are:

I was five in this picture. I was mischievous, shy and generous. I dreamt of being an archaeologist. I always played checkers, hide and seek and toy cars. I had one dog, a bear, dinosaurs and blocks. I always watched cartoons in the morning. I was easily annoyed by girls.

  • If I wanted to be model..?

    Hello!

My friend and I were curious as to what it would take for one of us to become "models" by today's standards (which are semi-ridiculous). But anyway, I weigh 126-128lbs, am 5'5" 3/4, wear a size 36B, and have sandy blonde hair and brown eyes. I usually wear a size 8 in pants, but I have sizes ranging from a 4 to a 10.

What height, weight and appearance transformations would someone like me need in order to become a model today?

( Side note: I, in no way, want to be a model, this is just out of curiosity ^.^ )

  • My mom dislikes my fashion..?

    Hello! So here's the situation:

I love to dress girly. I love dresses, and ruffles, and bows, and flowers, and peplum...ect. Marzia Bisognin is my fashion icon. The thing is...my mom dislikes this. Sometimes, I think I'm too girly for her taste (example: she likes the clothes in Hollister whereas I like the clothes in Asianicandy.com). Recently, I showed her the clothes I wanted to buy with my birthday money. Her responses to them were "It's just alright I guess", "Are you sure you want that?", "I wouldn't get that it doesn't look like you", and "That just looks really bad". I don't know why it bothers me, it just does. And then it makes me feel like my fashion style is weird. And then I end up not buying the clothes I actually like, which leads to me having a closet which is half-full of clothes I will never wear. What do I do?

    THANK YOU!

  • 1950s critiques of youths and civil rights activists on us?

I'm having difficulty with this history question: analyze the critiques of the us society made by the youths and the civil rights activists

I know there was a Free Movement Speech, and that it sparked student activism, but I'm not sure how. No idea about the civil rights activists. Like Malcom X?

  • Civil War South v. 1950's South Arguments?

I'm having some trouble answering this question:

Southern states and representatives use the "states rights" argument to prevent the desegregation of public schools. Is it the same argument used by Southerners as to why they wanted to start a Civil War in 1861?

I have to explain this in 2-3 paragraph and I'm not sure what to include in the paragraphs, although I'm fairly sure the two arguments were similar (they both went against the previous national decisions on slavery).

  • Can you translate this to Spanish? (English)?

This is for a project where we have to talk about a future trip in the future tense.

I will go to Pueto Rico. I will take a car to the airport, an airplane to Puerto Rico, and a bus to visit places there. I wil take sunglasses to protect my eyes, sun screen to protect my skin and a bathing suit to swim. I will see seagulls, whales and crabs. I will swim at the beach, buy souvenirs and go zip lining. I will eat Mofongo and Alcapurrias. It will be nice weather in Puerto Rico. It will be sunny. If I were you, I would take sun screen because it is very hot and sunny there.

I have all of the vocab, and it's mainly conjugating the verbs. This is so I can fill in the holes in my report. Thank you so much it means the world!

  • Am I developing an eating disorder?

Well, here's the story. Sometimes, I overeat. I'll eat a pack of crackers, ice cream, wheat thins, snow caps, and basically any snack food in sight. Then, I'll purge some up, by spitting and, I wouldn't say throwing up beause it isn't that much, but as much as my body allows. Sometimes i dont though. And then I might eat light for the next couple of days, to even out my body. I know what Bulimia Nervosa is, and I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong or not. What do you think?

I am 16 years of age and am 126-129lbs, for background information.

    THANK YOU!

  • I'm slowly drifting away...help?

Hi, I'm a junior in high school. A last year, I struggled with cyclothymia, or where your emotions skyrocket from one to the next. After CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), school started back up. I became a junior. I have friends, lots of them, but after spending so much time in CBT and not being able to communicate all summer, I felt distant. I've never been one for drama, so that isolates me even more. Whenever I want to hang out with my friends they're all ears, and excited, but whenever they hang out I'm never invited. I feel alone sometimes. They all text and message each other, and I'm not included. I don't know what to do. They've been my friends for 3 years, and one of them hardly says hello to me. I've tried to get closer to them, but them never try back. What do I do? They're good people, very funny and nice. I just feel...alone.

  • Why is parental influence bad? (Source)?

I'm doing a research paper on parental informational influence. This is when the child/teen believes that their parent's are more knowledgeable than themselves in every aspect and immediately conform to the beliefs of their parents. I am focusing on three aspects of this: religious beliefs, political beliefs, and familial relations based upon prior familial experience.

I know that parental influence leads to ignorance later on in life, but I need a more credible source to say this. Do you know of any reliable authors/research papers/books/ect. that state this?

  • Argumentative essay topics?

I have to write an argumentative essay during second semester, but we're supposed to be considering topics now. I am extremely interested in psychopaths, and sociopaths, but I don't feel as if those can be argumentative. I am also interested in other psychological disorders and mental illnesses. I'm not really interested in anything pertaining to technology or education. With my picky taste, do you have any suggestions as to what my topic should be? Thank you in advance!
