  • Ideas on what to say to a crush?

I have a guy friend (we've been casually seeing each other) who I always send text messages to before his basketball games where I just wish him good luck and such, but I was wondering if anyone had anything cuter, funnier, or more creative to say other than just, "Good Luck at your game! I hope you score lots of baskets! etc..." Thank you!

  • Removing scratches from Spanish Terracotta tile?

I am looking into purchasing a home, but the previous owners have scratched the Spanish terracotta tile inside while moving their furniture out. I know this type of tile is very delicate because of the way it is glazed, but is there anyway to remove the scratches? Is it possible to remove the tiles and insert new if the scratches can't be removed?

  • What game would be the most exciting to watch?

I want to take a guy I like to a Nuggets game (we're from Colorado!), but I'm not sure what would be the most exciting game to watch because I don't know a whole lot about basketball and I don't want to ask him since I want it to be a surprise. I know his favorite team is the Lakers, but there aren't any games against them coming up. My options are the Nuggets vs. Phoenix Suns and Nuggets vs. Orlando Magic!

1.) Determine which of the following correctly uses the Intermediate Value Theorem to show that the graph of the function has a zero in the given interval. Find the value of zero to two decimal places.

    f(x)=2x^3-3x^2-4x-1

    A. f(3)= 14 > f(2)= -5 (2.41, 0)

    B. f(2)= -5< 0 and F(3)= 14 > 0 (-1.00, 0)

    C. f(2)= -5<0 and f(3)= 14 >0 (2.41, 0)

    D. F(3)=14 > f(2)= -5 (-1.00,0)

    2.) Use quadratic formula to solve. -1/2x^2 - 7/4x - 9/2= 0

****I just don't know how to find the solution using imaginary numbers.

    A. -7/4 + or - 1/4 square root of 95i

    B. 15/16 + or - 3/16 square root of 97/41i

  • Physics homework question?

"A man drops a baseball from the edge of a building's roof. At exactly the same time, another man shoots a baseball vertically up towards the man on the roof in such a way that the ball just barely reaches the roof. Does the ball from the roof reach the ground before the ball from the ground reaches the roof, or is it the other way around?"

I'm kind of confused by this question, so I was hoping someone would be able to help me out! I would imagine that the ball would reach the ground faster than the ball would reach the roof due to acceleration from the fall, but if that is incorrect I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction! :) Thank you!

  • How does one become a member of an actor's union like SAG?

What are the names of other actors' unions? I have heard of people who now work on Broadway who have gotten their member cards when they were 15 and I was wondering how a person became a member of a union or what purpose they served?

  • Help determining the meaning of this poem?

I'm analyzing this poem for my English class, but I am having trouble finding it's meaning. I understand the poet is talking about not having a window in a classroom, but other than that I'm stuck! :/ Any help would be greatly appreciated! :]

    The Poetry of Bad Weather

    Debora Greger

    Someone had propped a skateboard

by the door of the classroom,

to make quick his escape, come the bell.

For it was February in Florida,

the air of instruction thick with tanning butter.

    Why, my students wondered,

did the great dead poets all live north of us?

Was there nothing to do all winter there

    but pine for better weather?

Had we a window, the class could keep an eye

on the clock and yet watch the wild plum

nod with the absent grace of the young.

We could study the showy scatter of petals.

We could, for want of a better word, call it “snowy.”

The room filled with stillness, flake by flake.

Only the dull roar of air forced to spend its life indoors

could be heard. Not even the songbird

of a cell phone chirped. Go home,

I wanted to tell the horse on the page.

You know the way, even in snow

    gone blue with cold.

  • Looking for honest opinions...(Pictures included)?

So, I know this section is flooded with questions like this and everyone is sick of them, but lately I've just been feeling down about myself when it comes to my looks. This is completely vain of me to say, but I used to be told often that I am pretty and now it seems like I am hardly ever told that. My appearance hasn't changed much over the years, except for the fact that I used to have bangs and now I don't. Would you say I'm attractive?

    I uploaded a bunch of pictures I know! :]

  • First Date Outfit Help?

Tomorrow I'm going on my first date and I'm really nervous! :o Anyway, I always find confidence when I'm wearing a cute outfit and I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on what I should wear. It's going to be 61 degrees and rainy and we are going bowling. I was thinking about wearing a pair of jeans, a yellow cami with a white lace one underneath, a white hoodie, and a pair of converse. I wouldn't normally wear sneakers, but since we are going bowling I just thought it made sense. :] What do you think I should wear? Also, if anyone has any tips for a first date that would spectacular! :]
