My grandmother passed away a year ago, my grandpa this December. He had 3 daughters, i'm one of his granddaughters, and the house is supposed to be sold and the profit split up in thirds.

my grandparents always took care of my aunts, but never my mom. the aunts had their mortgages basically paid off, they paid for their vacations when we'd all go as a family-- the biggest expense was helping pay for me and my sibling's college.

one of my aunts came in a few months before the end, furious that we wanted POA because she thought we were trying to steal his money. she backed down, but she's also done stuff like taking heirlooms without asking.

the way my mom tells it, they kind of split up the estate in their heads for a while now.

my parents took care of him through his old age, even when he was screaming and confused. they drove him, took care of his groceries, bathed him, they were basically full-time care until they had POA.

the thing is, his house has always been a block away from mine. i went over at least once a week, we were supposed to be left the house, but he developed dementia before he could change his will to reflect this. i want the house. i really, really want the house. he has some valuable things, but on the whole i don't care of those get sold. even the valuable things with sentimental value to me i don't mind giving up if it means i can keep his kitchen & garden.

i guess i just don't know where to start, or how to start asking. any advice?

i am just awful at sparkwheel lighters for some reason-- i spark and spark and spark until i give it to someone else! i got a zippo for lighting candles (and because i think they're cool) and have only been able to get a flame when i put a dot of fuel on the wick and sparked the wheel. i've tried rolling it on my pants, on my hand, nothing!!! any tips?

when i'm riding up in an elevator alone, i always send it back to the first floor when i get to mine. i just want to give other people that feeling of the elevator opening right when you call it.... is this a nice thing to do? do you do it as well?

i had a dream last night that you could buy things like avatars and wallpapers for your yahoo, and enough would get you a tshirt that said "i bought this with yahoo points." it was an ugly shirt, but in the dream i was disappointed i couldn't get it. what kind of things might you buy?

i have a satsuma tree that lets off more fruit than i know what to do with. does anyone have a citrus preserve recipe or tips?

tl;dr: dorm fell through, apartment options suck. advice?

I'm coming back to college in the fall semester to finish my degree. the only problem is i don't know where i'm going to be living. i took last semester off for health reasons and didn't sign up for the dorms until later, and i got a call that said i was off the waiting list but when i called up today they said i didn't have a bed.

i don't have a car, so there are only two options for apartments. in one complex, it's cheaper, but the rooms are unfurnished and there are break-ins like every month. i rented out the other last semester and liked it, but it was like 800 a month for a studio room in an old days inn that i ended up wasting because i had to take off a whole semester on a year lease.

my parents probably won't help me pay either: my dad lost his job, they say they don't want me staying in the first and the second is probably too expensive for us right now. i don't have a job with a consistent income because i don't have a car, and during school it's hard enough to keep up with my studies and my health, if i put a job on top of it i'm gonna have another breakdown and end up paying even more in the end.

i can't take online classes: the classes i need to graduate aren't online and i Need to get out of this house. i'm registered with disabilities, and i'm supposed to have a guaranteed room because i'm in the honors college, but neither of those seem to matter. does anyone have advice?

there's been a little kitten hanging around outside my house and has been getting used to our cats and our house. they let us pet it the other day and tonight it climbed into my lap and purred! problem is we don't know what to call it...

it is mostly black with tall white socks in the back, tiny bits of white at the front, a white chin with a perfect line that leads down to a triangle of white on the chest with that triangle connecting to a diamond on the belly.

Gender of the name doesn't matter. geeky names are encouraged! (one of the names i've been kicking around is strong bad lol)

ive never been into cars, and i was on the edges of a conversation with some friends the other day about how a recent mustang model isn't that good. as its a name everyone recognizes and i just assumed they made good stuff, i got kind of curious. what are cars you like? what are some overrated names? thanks bunches

i got a cheap commision spot from an artist i really like and i was wondering which of these characters i should get drawn?

the first is trevin, hes a teenage darkskin boy with a yellow fleece jacket that has blue and red accents. he wears jeans and old sneakers and uses a baseball bat to cast magic spells he gets from an angel. he has short braids or a just shaved head (i cant decide!) and has a strong body (but its hard to tell under the dorky jacket hes always wearing) and is kinda tall. his eyes are brown with amber in them. hes a sweet guy but gets serious in a fight!!

the second is allison, shes a psychic fire user with long brown hair she wears in a high ponytail. shes white with emerald eyes with a single big vampire tooth that u can see when her mouth is open. shes tall for a girl but not super tall. she wears a burgundy/garnet sweatshirt with a pink circle in the middle and blue grey pants that she tucks into boots. shes grumpy most of the time, but can have a laugh with her friends.
