I am studying for a test I need to take tomorrow and my answer isn't matching up with the practice test.

The question is......

g(f(-1))

f(x)=(x-5)/2

g(x)=(x^2)-2

I did the problem like this.....

g(-1-5)/2

=-6/2

=-3

Plugging that into the g function....

(-3^2)-2

=9-2

=7

But, when I checked my answers it says the answer is 15!!!

What am I doing wrong? I really need to do well on this college placement exam.

I am starting an organic vegetable garden. I have decided that I want to build raised garden beds in my backyard. They problem is although there's plenty of space for the garden to go we have a lot of very tall trees casting shade over the entire area. I'm afraid that if I plant the vegetables that they won't recieve enough sunlight. But, I also don't want to negatively effect the tree's growth. Can my garden survive even if there is a lot of shade? Is it ethical to cut branches from the tree to give more sunlight?

I've always had problems finding the perfect matching foundation because my face is much darker than my chest. Lighter foundation just makes my face look ashy and matching foundations make my face look prominently dark towards the rest of my body. How can I fix this?

I'm scheduled for a blood donation in 2 weeks but, my doctor said I was anemic and put me on an iron supplement not too long ago. Can I give blood while on the supplement? If not how long should I be off the supplement to give a good sample?

I'm looking for a full-coverage waterproof/sweatproof make-up for a party I'll be attending next weekend. After my outfit and, attire I won't have much cash to throw around on hair & make-up. Are there any great high-quality makeups for drugstore prices that are sweatproof/waterproof? Or do you know a way I can achieve this for the fewest dollars possible.

So, I've always had oily skin. As a reaction I tend to wash my face with things that will draw out the oils and, that helps a lot in terms of my acne. My acne is usually under the skin which can be extremely annoying. But, for a while now I've had patches of skin around my eyes. Yes, it is eczema! It's very annoying when I do my makeup because I can see the scaley patches and, it's not smooth like the rest if my face. I'm looking for products that can really help for this. Any products that are good for both acne and eczema and, also make-up that will leave a flawless face. Also, any other tips dealing with this. Thankyou :-)

So, the past week or so I kept waking up with pain and bites. At first I assumed it was a mosquito but, they didn't itch. Instead they swelled up. So, at first I thought the bite and swelling/pain had no connection because they just happen to be in places where it's common to feel pain after a workout. My upper arm and the middle of my back also my calf but, today I had one behind my ear. Well, I looked over and there was the shadow of a bee or wasp. It was long and it had a stinger but, I pretty much ran out of there too fast to get a good look at it. So, now what should I do? I can't keep getting stung in my sleep and, I'm just lucky whatever it was I am not allergic to.

I am asking both on a small and, large scale. Do we help the poor in our country? Do we help third-world countries if our country is affluent? Which comes first?

It's my personal belief that we should do what we can. But, focusing on our country first. I think it's worse to walk by poor children on the streets when you live so close that it's easy to give direct help. I think if you have $100 dollars to spend then, sending $5 to feed a starving family in a third-world country is not so hard. But, what do you think?

If a Physician Assistant thinks a crime has been committed and, the patient is a minor should they call the authorities?Does this breech confidentiality if they report a crime without the minor or guardians consent? Should you talk to the guardian first or should you report as soon as possible then, talk to the guardian?

I am the middle-child of three girls we also have a brother. My older sister is beautiful and confident. She's a born leader and a hard worker. She's also favorite to my dad. My younger sister is thin, pretty, and highly intelligent. She's still in HS but, she's in honors society and, a program for future doctors. My brother is handsome, strong, and really smart. He's in the military but, is also getting his degree in engineering. I feel like crap in comparison to them. Everything I can do someone can do better. I got good grades but, not nearly as smart as the youngest. I have talent but, they have more. I'm not very pretty or thin and, they all have athletic and beautiful bodies and, faces. I keep thinking as I get older my beauty will start to show maybe I'll start looking more like them. But, I'm 19 year old female and, it hasn't happened. I do get along with my siblings especially the youngest girl we are really close. But, when they want to go to the mall and buy clothes I just want to stay home. I've been told I have nice fashion sense. I have pretty hair. Or i have nice makeup. But, no one has ever called me beautiful not even on my prom night. I love my siblings I'm just so jealous that I'm not as good as then and, it really hurts sometimes that they can't understand what's it's like for me because they've always been good-looking.

My laptop just got a virus and it was on wifi. There's one other computer in the house connected to the same router. If it's off can the virus still come after when it's turned on. My laptop is also off and, I don't plan on turning it back on until a professional looks at it. But, should I be worried about my other PC?

My laptop has basically taken it's last hit. I'm literally so depressed at the moment. By all accounts it was holding up and, just needed one repair. I bought a new battery and cord and, now I feel foolish. I got a virus despite having Norton and, I'm just in awe. My computer won't start it crashes as soon as it turns on. A blue screen comes on and, nothing will work. It feels extremely slow before it crashes and, I'm typing on my phone right now. Is there anyway to get back to my computer. I've got files that I need for school and, I actually needed my laptop for next semester. I didn't plan on this happening but, now I'm at a loss. Please if there's any way I can get into my computer even just long enough to retrieve some important documents. I've had this laptop for almost 4 years and I'm devastated. Please, Please, please help or direct me to some help.

I have nephew and, we're trying to get him started reading and learning his letters for kindergarten next year. The problem is he hates the idea of learning. Even when we try to play games with numbers and letters he just gets frustrated and doesn't want to try. I'm really looking for something super-interactive and fun. I'm hoping he'll learn without even realizing. Any suggestions on how to get him excited. Or any products, programs, or games you think he'd be interested in. He's quite intelligent he just doesn't like to learn. He says it's boring and, he'd rather play........again he's 5.

I keep having nightmares about my teeth. Most of the time it's my teeth falling out but, last night it was a nightmare about holes in my teeth. I can't understand why I'd be having these dreams. I have good dental hygiene. I just don't get it.

I have always been an artist at heart. I play multiple instruments, I sing opera, I love poetry, and for fun I animate cartoons. I've always been a dreamer with big dreams. After highschool I wanted to go to college and get my business degree and music degree. I wanted to find any kind of work but, my ultimate goal was to open up a performing arts studio for kids and teens. I also, dreamed about creating my own scholarship lol. I got scholarships for college but, my family didnt have the rest of the money to send me so, instead I opted for community. I was really depressed not going to college after I worked so hard in school and music. But, now I'm staring in September. I'm 19 and a year behind but, I'm ready to work hard. It's just well, I guess I'm scared. If what will happen to me if I go after my dream. So, instead of taking music at all I'm only taking accounting classes. I'm in the track to get an associates and become a book-keeper or something along those lines. The pay isn't super but, it's decent. I'll have a place and food!!! My mom is upset because I've given up my dream if opening a school but, I just don't want my education to go to waste. With an accounting degree I can support myself. With a music-business degree ill be doing what I love. What would you do?

PS, I've taken high level accounting/business courses in highschool. My teacher reccomended that I go into accounting. That's why I chose this career in particular. I'm good at it.

I'm getting kind of irritated of my mom and older sister. But, I don't know if it's warranted or not.

My sister has a son he's 5 now. I've been babysitting and watching him for free since my sophomore year of highschool. I would even skip school to babysit for her. Usually, there was nothing in return and I was pretty okay with that. Now, it's getting out of hand for me. I'm not going through a good time right now and I don't have the energy to do my best care taking. I still do my best but, I just get so tired so easily and my sleeping schedule is so out of sync with my nephew. I try to tell them to give me a heads up when they want me to babysit so I can atleast attempt a good night's sleep. I'm kind of an insomniac so, it's really hard for me to get a consistant sleep and I'm a little irritable at times. I don't want to take that out on my nephew that's why I don't want them to just spring things on me. Anyway, they don't ask me to babysit. THEY EXPECT IT! I can be sitting ont my day off thinking I have a free day and they just drop him on me. They said "you're not doing anything" it just makes me feel like my time isn't even worth giving me a heads up or including me. I don't mind babysitting I just hate not being asked. I feel like I atleast deserve that respect. And babysitting my nephew isn't super easy it's usually a 48 hour at minimum nanny job. To top it all off she wouldn't even give me $20 when I needed it. Am I wrong to be upset? She is my sister after all.

I have he iPhone 4S it's not up to date as if this moment. I got a new charger and, it was working fine until yesterday. For some odd reason it won't charge unless the phone is dead first. I left it on the charger all night even it wasn't working. When I woke up it was dead so I plugged it into my moms charger and it magically had a full charge. But, when I plug he charger in the charger icon doesn't pop up at all. Looking at the charger it's in perfect condition. Could it be the phone? What's wrong with?

I'm trying to lose 5 pounds my brothers in the military and he use to run up and down the stairs to get fit. I just want to know how long or how many times a day I should be doing this excersize???
