At fifteen and sixteen, I expect them to have certain responsibilities. They are expected to do chores, i.e. keep their room clean, put up their laundry, maybe do a little of their own laundry. Most days I do ask them to do about an hours worth of chores, but I am ignored. I am reduced to asking, asking again, pleading, threatening to take privileges. They are rewarded nicely when they do well, so it's not like I'm not giving positive reinforcement. Just getting them to do anything is like trying to pull teeth. I am out of ideas, and privileges are at a minimum. They don't seem to understand that it is not my calling to wash their clothes, and pick up their endless messes. If I say anything, they roll their eyes at me and say okay, I'll get to it, but they don't. Nine times out of ten I end up doing it,mainly because it's stuff that I just can't ignore. I can't allow them to go to school in dirty clothes. Advice, anyone? Only serious answers please.

So why has the word been used to describe the those who go to Broadway plays and attend fashion shows? How does these things give you knowlege?

I used what I can and gave a bunch away.I took a bunch to Operation Hope and Manna, but they can't use them because they haven't been checked by the FDA. I would like to can them, but I haven't ever canned anything by myself in my life. (I used to help Grandmother as a child, but that's been a day or two and I can't really remember how she did it). Anyone have some easy instructions for canning pears for the culinary challenged? Only serious answers, please! Thanks.

The worst thing I ever did (please don't judge!): I was sleeping with someone for about a year before I told him I live with someone else. (I was too cowardly to end the relationship. I was hoping he would do it). Six or seven months, I finally told him I was happy with my life now, and I had no desire to see him. He was upset, but I wish I had done it six months before.

I called, faxed, and e-mailed the adjudicator Friday trying to get a continuance so I could get legal advice. The adjudicator called at 4:40 pm and said request denied. Any advice? Serious answers only. Thanks.
