  • short quotes meaning "death comes to us all"?

    hi all,

i am thinking on having a tattoo on my back with a picture of the grim reaper and i want the tattoo to make people take a step back and think the quote on that tattoo is right we are all going to die at some point,

i will be putting it underneath the grim reaper in a scroll,

want it to make people think hard about us all being mere mortals,

due to it being a tattoo i want it to be as short, witty, and to the point,

    thanks all in advance.

  • i am in quite a bit of debt but require back surgery which will effect my income where do i stand?

    hi all

first of all i am a 31 year old male who has a prolapsed disc at l5s1 which i can still work with just about with the aid of pain killers but the painkillers i have are not good for your heart therefore my surgeon is considering surgery rather than keep on taking painkillers to hide the problem,

please note i have already had a steroid injection in my back which has took the edge off it for me but when i asked for a second one the surgeon kind of dismissed it,

my main concern is where i stand with my debts im worried if i lose my shift allowance which is a big chunk of my wage i certainly wont be able to keep up with all my payments,

please note i dont have any insurance of any sort,

thanks in advance for your heads up,

    ste.

  • my car struggles to start if still warm any ideas?

    hi all

    i have a vauxhall astra club 1.6 8v 2001 model petrol,

i have tried a different battery and changed the spark plugs ht leads fuel filter with no joy,

i find that when i start it normally it starts fine but lets say i park up and go to the bank for 2 minutes when i go to start the car again it struggles to turn over and battery light on and oil light on with low revs until i press accelerator for a split second once i do that the car seems to be ok afterwards but if i dont manage to tap the accelerator in time and it cuts out it will not start for a good 5 minutes and at that it still struggles and i have to tap accelerator in time again,

now my personal opinion although i know nothing about cars would of been that the fuel pump was old and blocked but now i have changed it as well as spark plugs and ht leads i am struggling to understand what else it could be,

    help would be much appreciated,

    ste.

  • l5s1 disc prolapse question?

    hi guys,

i have a prolapsed disc in my back that is pushing on my sciatic nerve and causing me alot of pain im 30 years old and want some advice,

first of all i have had a xray which showed no degeneration at all of my l5s1 disc and it is still ideal shape and size apart from the bulge which didn't show on the xray so i ended up having a MRI scan which in fact shows there is a problem there but the consultant says it is very strange that although there is a disc bulge the disc itself hasn't collapsed which is very strange in this case,

i get up every morning and cant even put my own socks or shoes on but i find the more i do through the day and push myself through the pain the more the pain disappears which has allowed me to still play football (or soccer) in goal for the last 18 months only 6 a side none contact type though,

the consultant has advised me to not play football for the time being although didn't seem too convincing that it was critical that i don't play,

he also stated that he is shocked that i can still work and go about every day life with the problem i have and says i must have a very high threshold for pain.

when i play football i find afterwards my sciatica clears up to the amount of 90% gone for the remainder of the day and although this seems mad to contemplate it actually seems to help with the pain afterwards,

i have a theory that because i play football in goal the getting up and down off the floor very quickly without using my arms could actually be doing me more good than harm reason i say this is when you have this type of back complaint you are supposed to exercise your core muscles to help you support your vertebrae with the surrounding muscles to take the pressure off the effected part of your body,

so question to anyone out there who knows about the back problem properly could i have built up my back muscles up in my back to the extent that they have protected my damaged disc more than usual and stopped it getting crushed because of the football i play and because i have been able to play football twice a week sometimes more without any problems would i be ok to keep on playing or should i risk not keeping my back muscles strengthened by playing which in theory could go against me and make my disc collapse as the muscles weaken??

strange questions i know and i do suffer really bad early on every single day just because it improves considerably enough that i can play doesn't mean i don't have this problem effecting my life alot,

any knowledgeable advice and personal information with similar issues would be greatly appreciated thanks ste.
