  • How many children can our income support?

I won't be very specific about our financial situation, but here are the basics: my husband and I are RN's and bring home (after taxes) about 105k. We own 10 acres in North Florida and are planning to build in the next year. Our debt is mostly restricted to our 2 vehicles until we build our home. We have 1 baby on the way and we both want several children, but want to provide a nice lifestyle in which we can always provide new shoes and put them in activities like sports or music, and take occasional small vacations- nothing extravagant. I worry that I won't be able to provide for a family as large as I want. What do you all think?

  • how can this estate be settled if the owner has died?

My grandpa Henry made his land into an estate for his 5 children, and the overseer is my dad. All but 2 children have died, but of course those that died still have kids and grandkids. My dad still pays the land tax every year, but nobody knows what will come of these 40 acres once my father and his sister have died. How can we legally reclaim this land so that my dad can divide it as he sees fit?

  • Where can i shop for my hourglass figure?

I know it's ridiculous to complain about having an hourglass figure, but it's starting to get old! I need tips on where to shop, because most stores now are displaying tons of billowing tops and loose tanks and things that look great on women with thinner frames, but with my measurements (39, 28, 40) those things just hang over my breasts and make me shapeless. I am only 20 so I don't want to look over-tailored either though. Ladies, where can a curvy girl find more choices that still look young?

  • is there a medication that can be taken for anxiety only when needed?

I only experience anxiety at certain times, like when there are going to be a lot of noisy people at my house or if I have to go out to be around a lot of noise in public. I just hate chaos- it makes me very stressed and almost angry. I want to know if there is something my doctor can prescribe that I can take only when I need it instead of every day. I don't want to live in a fog ALL the time, just when I need the extra help relaxing.

  • Financial aid for 18 yr old living on her own?

I moved out of my home and planned to go to college this fall, but was shocked to hear that I must use my parents' tax information to apply for financial help- even though I will be paying for college without their help- until age 25.

Is there any kind of loophole for this situation? I want to go to college but how will I afford it if I have to pay in full out of my own pocket?

  • How to overcome the language barrier...fast?

I work in a small restaurant with only 7 employees, including myself and the owners. The owner and his wife speak English, but everyone else speaks Spanish, and I'm growing more and more frustrated with our lack of ability to communicate. If I see an employee violating a health code, I cannot tell them. If I need something cleaned or taken to a table, we cannot communicate. If one of them seats a customer, they cannot understand the customer and vice versa. How can we teach each other to understand one another better? I only know VERY little Spanish.

  • What is the weight of an empty book vs a book filled with words?

Say you have two books, right? Book A is totally blank- just pages and a cover. Book B is filled with words or pictures (some form of ink markings).

There must be a difference in the weight of each book because one is filled with ink. But how much of a difference? I'm very interested to know!

  • Why can't I find 34D?

When I want a new bra it takes me days to find one. Unless I want to drop a ton of cash at a fancy boutique or at Victoria's secret, I'm always out of luck. Juniors' sizes stop at C, so my selection is always a bunch of ugly granny bras, IF they even have my size. Really, it's almost a miraculous thing; stores carry 32A-36C and then skip to 38D. I'm a fun girl and I want to feel that way inside. I like pretty colors and lace, not nude nylon. What on earth am I supposed to do?

  • Why are my leggies numb?

    Okay, so here's the rundown:

About a week ago on Sunday both of my legs became suddenly numb on the front portion of my lower-leg. They felt weak and would give out easily if I bent them. I could easily feel a pinprick, or if I put any pressure on the affected area, but if I were to lightly stroke the area, I could barely, if at all, feel it. I could hardly stand the dead feeling of it.

It mostly faded away by the end of the week, but it came back yesterday on Sunday, only in my left leg. This happened once a few years ago, only I just woke up that way.

I was thinking a pinched nerve or something?

Any answers to my problem? If not, what sort of doctor should I see? I've been meaning to go, I just haven't the time. Very busy life.

  • How do I stretch my ears enough to fit these plugs in?

I've been stretching my ears for months now, and I'm finally getting close to my goal. My problem? I'm broke. I'm going to 4's and I'm at 10 now. I have the size8, 6, and 4 plugs already, but no tapers and no money. So how am I supposed to get these plugs in my ears? I mean, they're just blunt-ended cylinders and they're too big to just push in. Can I just buy a size 4 taper and use it to stretch the very outside of my hole to prepare for the 8's and 6's? Any other ideas?

  • Why has my eye color changed over the years?

I was born with clear blue eyes that eventually faded to a bright blue-gray by the time I was in school. By the time I was in middle school they were more gray than anything. Now I'm almost out of high school and they've changed again; they're green. Just like it's been since I was little, they've got a navy blue ring on the outside and they're yellow in the middle. So up close it seems they haven't changed at all, but from a distance it's clear that they have.

What causes these changes in people? Is it very common?

  • How do I deal with my depressed boyfriend?

My boyfriend is really going through a lot right now. Anyone can understand the effects stress have on a person. But he isn't just stressed, he really does have a history of struggling with depression. Over the past month he's been getting worse and worse.

I love him so much. We're incredibly close, and very open and honest with each other. It really tears me up to see how unhappy he is.

He isn't talking any medicine or anything; he's just dealing with this on his own. I never pry about what's getting him..I'm afraid he might not want to talk about it (should I ask him anyway?) I do everything I can to just be there. Sometimes he'll get short with me or say things that are unnecessary, but I understand that he doesn't mean it. I just calmly let him know how it makes me feel when he disregards my feelings and he'll just apologize and I'll drop it.

Am I doing the right things? What more can be done on my part?

  • How do I make my knees stop leaking plasma?

I fell while running and skinned both of my knees really bad (it's not so deep that I need medical attention, though). Both of my knees are swollen and bruised. As soon as I made it home I cleaned both wounds, disinfected them, and bandaged them. The blood stopped running out within about ten minutes but the clear liquid (I believe its plasma) has been seeping out all day now. I can't keep a bandage on for more than an hour before its totally saturated. I really need this to stop if its possible. Its just not okay to be walking around with pinkish liquid running down my legs, not to mention the pain its causing me (since it can't scab over).

  • Why should I take birth control if I'm not having sex?

I'm 16 years old. No issues going on with my health.

My mom wants me to start on birth control. I'm not having sex. I don't plan on it until I'm older and married anyway (and that's final; No bending there).

I suspect she is only doing this because she knows I'm involved with a much older guy, but she says its necessary for me to be on it for other reasons.

I don't have any problems with my period, so I don't need the pill for that reason either. So, why should I be taking birth control? Is there something I'm missing with her logic? What about negative effects?

  • What makeup should I use for these (African American) girls?

Tomorrow I am helping out two girls on my dance squad who have no experience with make-up get ready to have their pictures done. I'm white, so of course all I have is make-up for a white face. But they have good enough complexions that they only need a few basic things.

One girl has a skin tone just deeper than caramel, has light and dark brown hair, and dark brown eyes. The other has very dark skin; darker than average, black hair, and deep brown/black eyes.

They just need their eyes to be made up as well as their cheeks and lips. I know how to apply it all, I just have no clue what colors to use..

What colors would be best for them? Keep in mind what they'll be wearing: a bright red, black, and silver uniform. Also keep in mind, my collection of products may be quite limited. Just assume I have mostly neutral colors.

  • RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome) at 16?

I'm 16 years old. RLS runs in my family and I am aware that it *is* hereditary. I'm up at 3 a.m. at this very moment because my legs seem to think I'm running a marathon (which is making my entire body move all over the place), when in actuality I really just want to go to sleep. Lately it's been getting more noticeable. Not just recently, more like over the span of a year. I still can't stop bouncing them and it is driving me up a wall. It isn't from eating the wrong thing before bed; I ate vegetables for dinner (no dessert). I have this problem other times too, in class or during church I absolutely have to shuffle my feet or move my legs somehow or I can't concentrate.

I'm really growing tired of laying in bed for 3 hours every night, even when I'm completely exhausted. I get so restless that I'm brought to tears of frustration. On a good night I can be in bed by 11 and asleep by 12:30.

Do you think this is RLS starting to show up early? Is there a probability of something else?

Any solutions? I'm tired of using dramamine and tylenol p.m. for the wrong reasons.

  • What exactly is a blouse (as defined in a dress code)?

I know it's a shirt. But what makes it a blouse (a collar and a few buttons make a polo a polo)? The uniform policy I have to follow allows blouses but I haven't a clue what to shop for. Does anyone happen to really know what a blouse is?

  • You can walk down the aisle of a speeding bus, so..?

The example in the question: Let's say you're on a bus coasting at 50 mph. That means that you could walk down the aisle of the bus at over 50 mph, right?

I want to know if there are limits to this rule. Another thing, some scientists believe that if we travel faster than light (I think it was light..) we can actually travel to the past. What if we were in a vehicle capable of moving just under that speed? Could we run forward while in that vehicle and move into the past (assuming that the time travel theory actually holds some truth)?

I know this question has a lot of hypothetical parts to it, but I don't know how else to put it.

  • How can I get over my fear (of roaches)?

Okay, I know this is ridiculous and it sounds like a really common fear, but in my case, this has amounted to a phobia that can consume me completely at times. I can't even say the word "cock roach" out loud without shuddering. IT makes me feel like they're in my mouth. They get huge where I live, and now they're trying to come inside since it's been staying around 100 degrees outside lately.

When I see one I completely start to panic and fall apart. I can barely bring myself to ask for help, because I'm afraid the thing might start flying at me or the person might think it's funny and bring the bug to me. The last time that happened I locked myself in a bedroom screaming at the top of my lungs, crying hysterically. I've decided to try and get over (or at least tone down) my fear because of a meltdown I had today. I needed to take the trash outside to the road, but I just couldn't. My sister really doesn't like me and she enjoys seeing me upset, so she forced me outside to do it. I absolutely lost it. I couldn't breathe and I started wheezing and gasping and choking on my tears. Needless to say, I didn't take it to the road.

Please help me! I'll do anything it takes..aside from directly exposing myself to them. Anything would be better than that.
