I just graduated with with a bachelors in information science engineering, and I am interested in a job role that relates to networking, security or software development. With no working experience (except for 6 months technical support at IBM, right after I graduated), what course (such as a Microsoft certification or CISCO course) do you think would land me my desired job at a good company? I'm planning to quit IBM this month, and would like to bolster my credentials so I'll get hired- which is difficult, otherwise, since most companies require relevant experience.

A list of some of the recent developments in technology/computing would be a great help, if some of you would please. I'm thinking interesting new innovations etc. My niece is in 8th grade, and she has this competition at school; it's like a quiz.Thought I'd help her out with some research. Any help would be appreciated!

I'm going to use HTML, CSS, JavaScript possibly PHP (in notepad? or where do i put the code for my website?) to build a website for the first time. It is a one that should be able to store a decent amount information (so in a database of sorts) but my website can't connect to a database like sql can it? I mean, if were to access the website on another computer how would i retrieve the info from the database on my computer? I will buy a domain name for my website; so does that mean I create a database on the server? what kind of database would it be, and what query language do I use? (someone recommended I use a vamp server but I'm not sure why or what that is.) I would really appreciate any help very much!

We're using eclipse at school for our Java codes and I was wondering why we need to put different classes on new tabs and link them using packages.....um, can't we just put them on one page? Like in C++? Or is our teacher confusing us and can we in fact put our entire program with all its classes on one page? or is each class in Java supposed to be in a different file or something?

I'm learning programming and well- I always thought the reason we use classes is so that you know, you can create objects and instances of objects and all that but i don't get how if c/c++ is also object oriented then why doesn't it utilize the concept of classes? if c is object oriented without classes then why does Java need seperate classes?

i'm making a german chocolate cake, only i don't know how to make the frosting! i have limited ingredients and little time!

after i got my braces off my ortho. shaved off the ends of my teeth so that those ridges would go, but he shaved off way more than necessary on one of my teeth so now it's noticeably shorter than the rest. it's the one between one of my two front teeth and the canine. =( i didn't realize this until recently and now every time my tongue feels my teeth or i look at my smile in the mirror i feel like demanding that he do something about it! it looks so uneven, and it doesn't help that i have vampire-like canines adjacent- making for a good and obvious contrast. I do realize it's not the end of the world of course; i'm simply wondering if it would do any good if i go back and tell him to take a good look at what he did there and could he shell out a few dollars for me to fix it. he can def. afford it (he's expensive), i paid and entrusted my teeth to him for 4 years. however, it has been 3 years since the incident. sigh...

i do remember noticing him look like "oops" while shaving them, although he didn't say anything to me. i didn't make much of it at the time, i was too excited to have my braces off. i don't like that he wasn't honest enough to mention it to me then. ugh.

somebody i know dreamt that he was stuck on a little ledge very high up on the slope of a mountain. his wife had just dissappeared around the corner over there (on the mountain) and looking far down he can see his brother, who's watching him too. He tries to get off but he can't because if he takes a step he'll fall. he's in fear and realizes the only way he can be saved is if someone comes to his rescue cuz it's not in his control. this is a recurring dream, and i really want to know what it's interpreted as please...

I completed my high school in 2006 and have been abroad for a couple of years. Now I want to go back to school and do not want to ask my parents to support my education. So basically I'm wondering if there are any services in general that will allow me to take a loan without me having any money or income which will cover my boarding/lodging and my class expenses. Do they give loans like that? Does financial aid exist for students in a situation like mine? And question number two: When will I have to start paying it off? I prefer to concentrate just on the academics and have no part time job until I land myself a job (which would be after I graduate, hence the education)? If it makes any difference, I will be taking up computer or software engineering. Thank you any help is greatly appreciated...

I was just wondering if it's advisable to work for a few years and then do my master in software engineering or do my mba. I don't think good universities accept students for masters unless they have a few years of experience. Is this true? i would love to do my masters first and then go for a job, but will i get accepted by a good university without any work experience? my gre scores will be good i'm sure, but my current gpa isn't that great...

A gentleman I know recieved his Ph.D through Columbus University because he is working, is a husband and father, and has no time to attend classes to teach, etc. The Ph.D is in Computer Science and he got A's on all his 5 papers, as well as on his dissertation. So is he not a recognized "Dr."? He himself does not hold it in much esteem because it was done thorough written correspondence, but he got As on all 5 papers as well as on his dissertation. Shouldn't he be proud and not feel inferior to those who had the advantage of attending a well known university to get their Ph.Ds!? (I mean he does not even want to tell his colleagues because of this perception he has! But he's brilliant, and yeah he undertook this at the age of 52 so he's not looking to get into like a university or something.)
