  • Ford Fiesta Steering Problem?

Every week day for the past 3 months, I've been driving my Ford Fiesta to and from work on the M25. I do about 100 miles a day.

Just recently, I've noticed that the car has been jerking to the side every now and then - as though the steering has come loose.

To top this off, today as I was changing lanes, the car pulled me violently to the side almost back into the path of an overtaking car.

Does any body know what might be wrong? The car is a 2009 plate, 1.25 litre with 27,000 miles on the clock.

  • Can you use a day travel card on London Overground?

I need to make a few journeys within London, and the quickest way to get from place to place is by using the Overground.

I'll be making journeys such as Clapham Junction to Wimbledon.

  • Backdated Electric and Gas Bill?

I received a bill this morning for Gas and Electric dated between November 2010 – June 2011 from an address that I previously lived it at. I have not lived at the house for over a year and a half and confused as to why I have been sent this letter now after having confirmed with my provider that all final bills had been paid upon moving away from the address.

I spoke to a customer services agent to query this and was advised that the meter at the house was wrong from a recent reading which is why the bills have been sent out now, however a meter reading was completed upon moving out (by an agent visiting the house).

I would know why it has taken over a year and a half to rectify this and is the provider allowed to charge for this? There have been two more sets of tenants living at the address since I left, and therefore how does the provider know it was my electric and gas usage?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • Commuting on the M25?

I have just been offered a new job and for the next two weeks will be commuting on the M25 from Hemel Hempstead (Junction 20) to Leatherhead (Junction 9).

I need to be at the office for 9am and was wondering what time I should leave to get there in time? When its clear it takes me an hour to do this journey.

Does anybody do a journey similar to this at present? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  • What happens if I miss a connecting flight because my flight is delayed?

Im travelling from Guatemala City to London on the 8th December.

I have two stopovers - one in Miami and one in New York.

I have plenty of time to catch my flight in Miami (4 hours) but in New York I only have 1 hour and 25 minutes to reach the connecting flight.

My concern is, what happens if my flight from Miami is delayed and I miss my connecting flight in New York? Would I the airline have to put me on the next flight, or would I have to pay for this?

I don't know if it makes any difference, but I've booked my flights through Opodo.co.uk

  • Stopover/Layover at Newark Airport?

I'm flying from Heathrow to Costa Rica and have a 22 hour layover at Newark International Airport in New York.

Am I able to leave the airport to visit somewhere such as Manhattan or to book a hotel over night? If so, would I have to purchase a visa for the day?

I am a British Citizen in case that makes a difference.

  • Job Application Questions?

I've recently applied for a couple of jobs on application websites such as TUI Travel and Virgin Holidays. Both of these ask questions such as 'why do you believe you are the ideal candidate for this position?'

Should I keep my answer short when answering these questions, or should I be aiming to use the character limit that is set for each answer box (e.g. 4000 characters can be used).

  • Can a company keep my bank details?

I have recently cancelled a direct debit with a company as I wish to cancel the service they are providing. The contract has run its course therefore I am able to cancel it to change companys.

I was just wondering whether a company is allowed to keep my bank account details after I have cancelled my Direct Debit with them as they said they would keep a copy of these in my notes on my record. Are they allowed to do this, as I am worried someone else may be able to get hold of them?

If somebody could provide me with a reference as a backup to show that this is not allowed I would be greatful.

  • Boeing 747 Landing Speed?

If a Boeing 747-400 is supposed to be able to land at around 150 knots, why when I am flying on Flight Simulator X does it always seem to fall out of the sky at this this speed?

I am flying with my flaps fully extended, yet the plan seems to drop incredibly quickly if I'm flying anything below 175 knots.

  • How much money will I need for a month in Thailand?

At the moment Ive paid for flights and have around £1200. Will that be enough?

Im going to head from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, then probably down south to the islands, and will then work my way back up to Bangkok.

I will be travelling in June/July. I was planning on booking my bed for hostel just before I leave the last hostel. Is that a good idea?

Ive put together a rough estimate of how much I will spend on each hostel and for transport. Do you think its realistic? It can be found at the link below:
