  • Tangible verifiable evidence? What would you think if you were a christian...?

and your daughter came home with a young man who demanded "tangible" "verifiable" evidence for everything. For instance, wouldn't get in the car with you unless he first saw your driver's licence...or wouldn't believe you were the girl's parents without a blood test. And then when you provided the evidence he would debate the authenticity of it (ie anyone can get a fake id, or perhaps you bribed the guy at the blood lab). Would you want your daughter to pursue a relationship with such a person? Do you imagine any parent would want their daughter to end up with such a person?

  • Evolutionists, how long would this take?

So if I forget to flush the toilet, how long would it take my turd to turn into cats, dogs, people and elephants? Keep in mind my floater already has living matter in it, so this should happen much quicker than your original primordial goo, which still had to somehow come to life.

  • Would this be evolution?

My son has the flu. He sneezed some nasty boogers out and I was too lazy to clean them up. The next morning that gob of goo had evolved into a creature that cooked me breakfast and did my laundry...true story (at least as true as any other proof of evolution). What think ye? Was my son's booger the common ancestor of a breed of super housekeepers?

  • Why do unbelievers...?

always talk about how christians are pre-occupied with homosexuality? Do you not realize YOU are the ones bringing this topic up? I bet you ask 10 times the number of questions on this topic, and that is a very conservative guess, its likely much higher. What is your deal? Obsess much?

  • Christians did you know?

When Jesus refers to the "eye of the needle"...He is NOT referring to the gate into the city? If you look at the term Luke uses, it is literally referring to a surgical needle, and being a physician, I'm sure Luke would use this term correctly! The point is, it is IMPOSSIBLE for man to enter heaven on His own merits, but with God all things are possible. I saw this "eye of the needle" being misused in a different question, and just wanted to ensure christians knew the "gate" reference is inaccurate.

  • Christians who believe in evolution?

If God used evolution, why does Exodus 20 repeat "In 6 days the Lord made the heavens and the earth"? Why wouldn't it read "God used 6 periods of time or In Egypt you worked every day, I now want you to be able to rest one day a week from your labours". There are so many things it could say here, but instead it says "In 6 days the Lord made...Thoughts? Is God lying in Exodus 20?

  • Evolutionists, please explain the giraffe to me?

So I have read here many times that a mutation causing a longer neck gave long-neck giraffes a competitive advantage over short neck giraffes. Due to inability to compete for food successfully, short neck giraffes died out. What about young giraffes though? They have shorter necks for many years until mature. Why did they survive while their neck was the same length as the dying short-necked variety? As far as I can tell, giraffes should be extinct by this logic. No young surviving means no continuation of the species. Also, giraffes eat grass in addition to leaves. Why wouldn't the short neck giraffes just eat grass? The long neck ones eat grass, and this would have actually been a competitive advantage for the short neck giraffes. Please provide a serious answer if you know how. To me, the giraffe does not support evolution.

  • Why do people say bacteria becoming resistant to penicillin is evidence of evolution?

To me, its evidence that organisms can adapt to their environment. I mean its not like that bacteria turned into a fish and swam away, right? It is still bacteria. Is there a lab somewhere where bacteria has turned into something else - you know, a nice fluffy kitten? Or do they really just stay bacteria? And if they do, why do people use this as evidence? Its kind of embarrassing that this is evidence.

  • Did I just kill the ancestor of a potential nobel prize winner?

I had sea bass for dinner. What if this sea bass was going to be the common ancestor of a super-intelligent being? I felt so guilty eating it. When I had seconds I felt even worse.

Some may say fish aren't intelligent, but when we were swimming in the primordial soup a billion years ago we weren't too bright either.

  • Christians, why do you say God can not hate when the bible clearly says He does?

You hate all workers of iniquity – Psalm 5:5

The Lord tests the righteous, but the wicked and the ones who love violence His soul hates Psalm 11:5

Jacob I loved, but Esau I have hated Romans 9:13

Here are 3 verses (there are more), that speak of God hating the sinner, not just the sin. Clearly God does not "love the sinner but hate the sin". If this were true, the first example would read "you hate the works...but it doesn't say that. It says God hates the "workers". And to those who quote John 3: 16, have you even read that entire chapter? This verse speaks about those who believe. And who will believe? The elect. What does the rest say? The last words of John 3 say this "The wrath of God abides on him". That is not the warm fuzzy message of God loves everyone. God loves His elect whom He has chosen before the foundation of the earth. Plain, simple, biblical.

  • Evolutionists - why do you get so upset?

Why get so upset when people bring up the "why are there still monkeys if we came from monkeys" argument? Sure , you no longer believe this, but for years this is what was being taught as fact. Go look at some textbooks from 20 years ago. I guess some people aren't aware that your theories have changed again. Cut them some slack, after all, many of us grew up being taught it was fact that we came from monkeys. When you keep changing your mind (Lucy, piltdown, nebraska etc) its hard for the rest of us to keep up. We're just dim witted christians. Pick an answer and stick with it!

  • Christians, why do so many of you go out for Sunday brunch?

We know of a person who would like to go to church on Sunday, but his boss will not allow it because the restaurant is so full of people coming over after church. Apparently a high percentage of their business is Christians. If the Christians stayed away the restaurant would likely close on Sunday (its in an area that doesn't have much, except a real big church next door!) Should we not be promoting church attendance rather than making it impossible for others to attend? At my church we have a pot-luck at church every Sunday so that we don't miss out on fellowshipping (if that 's a word) with one another. If we have any guests at church they are welcome to stay because there is always plenty of food to go around. If you are one of these Christian Sunday brunchers, how do you justify the fact that because of you people are unable to go to church?
