After not being used, my toilet tank empties. Then when you flush the tank fills normally, then it will flush. I figured the flapper was leaking so I replaced all the parts and washers inside. After all that I have the same problem. I noticed this morning the tank was completely empty (dry) below the flapper level - so it's not the flapper. It must be leaking where the flapper screws into the bottom of tank. Is there some other place it could be leaking, why would I have the same problem with old and new hardware???

I'm trying to determine the effectiveness of installing an exhaust (bathroom) fan on my bedroom wall to pull hot air out of the room and into the attic. My goal would be to help our central AC make it upstairs or at least exhaust the hot air out. Our AC is works fine but downstairs will be 10-20 cooler than upstairs, the cool air doesn't want to go upstairs (3 registers upstairs). I've tried closing some registers but this doesn't help. My poor man's whole house fan (box fan upstairs blowing up into the attic) makes a big difference in getting the cooler AC upstairs. Also the bedroom I'd like to vent has an angled 12 foot ceiling that is against the roof also making it warmer. This bedroom is also unfortunately is the longest run from the blower (through the hot attic). My plan is to mount a bathroom fan (since they are quieter than most exhaust fans I've seen) and also an attic fan on the same switch. What do you think?
