one of my good friends has a birthday coming up. we've only been friends for a year but she's already done so much for me. i will forever owe her big time because she put in a good word for me at my present job. she said it wasn't that big of a deal but honestly, i don't think she understands how much i have enjoyed working there for 9 months now. so, in my book, i owe her big time. i always got compliments on a pair of diamond earrings i wore & she said she used to own a pair of heart shaped ones that broke. would getting her a pair for $80 be too much? is it appropriate? i would feel embarrassed if i went overboard or outdid her boyfriend. any thoughts?

i feel so embarrassed about this because i honestly don't know what to make of it. i started working at my place of employment about 6 months ago. one of my guy coworkers has been driving me crazy for the past few months. i don't know if he likes me or if i've got this all wrong somehow. first of all, he's always been super nice and a genuine person. so when he started asking me questions about school, my hobbies, and my family, i figured he was just trying to get to know me. he tried getting my facebook a couple of times but i wouldn't give it to him. he would always take my magazines/ books and start flipping through them. one time he read something about an awkward conversation starter being "did you color your hair today?" every time he saw me, he would ask me that. it became like an inside joke between us. then he starts talking about me with the other coworkers like betting on how long i've been working there or bragging to them how i know 3 languages. he's always looking at me while he's at my station & the weirdest parts are coming up... he wears this mood ring that he always takes off and tells me to put on. at first it was cute because i complimented him on it but then he starts telling me to where his ring whitle at work. i don't feel comfortable wearing it and i feel weird around him now. plus, just last week out of nowhere he asks about my boyfriend (i never talk about my personal life at work so i have no idea where he got this from). basically, i feel so uncomfortable around him now. i hope i'm not leading him on because that is not my intention at all. his flirtatiousness is making me a little uneasy because that's not what i want. anyone wanna help me figure this out? ):

i'll try to keep this as simple as possible. what is a realistic amount of money that could be lost by a celebrity gambling in vegas for one weekend? this person is not a professional/ habitual gambler. say they were just having a bad night. what would be a shock value amount of money for them to lose? i've never gambled in vegas. not even sure how much money you can blow. this is for a story i'm writing.

currently, I am working on my BA degree. i have not committed to anything seeing as I have 1 more year before I declare a major/minor. but here's what I'm thinking & working towards so far: major in History (concentration being United States), double minor in American Studies & Political Science, AND get teacher certification. is that too far-fetched? I just don't want to find myself in a corner 10 years from now with no way out (job-wise). opinions?

let's say Bob is a certified paramedic. spent 2 years in a community college and went through training and all of that. but now he wants to go back to school and get his bachelors. what could he potentially major in that would aid in his "craft" so to speak.

i have a question about the level of degree obtained by a person who went to college for 4 years. they got into the pre-pharmacy program but decided not to go on to grad school and thus, never became certified to practice. what degree would they have gotten after 4 years that they opted out of going on?

anyways, this is the situation. a couple has known each other for 8 years. married for 6. husband (we'll call him brad) is head over heels in love with his wife. he's away for many months out of the year because of his work. but he always finds days off or takes a week off to fly in and spend time with her. wife (we'll call her carrie) sacrificed a lot in their marriage together. she moved to the other part of the country to settle down with him. her family hates him for the most part, but that didn't stop her. and she basically lost her sense of religion bc she married out of her faith. now she's lonely because he's away all the time and jealous bc he's kinda living her dream job.

she starts having an affair with one of her male friends. there are no feelings involved on her part. she's just lonely and confused and angry. they've slept together twice. now she's feeling guiltier by the day. still loves her husband, but he's oblivious to everything.

how should she tell her husband? what should she say? part of this has to be brad's fault, right? opinions?

i don't have very many details. but the plot of it involved a man. he was given a second chance by an angel that kept repeating throughout the rest of the movie/show. i guess he went back in time to try and change the future. his fiancee or girlfriend was going to die. i remember one scene in the snow at the park with snowballs... does anyone remember anything like this? i just know it made me cry a lot. really touched me when i was younger and now i can't remember it.

I'm only 17, but way too stressed out at work already. My boss is an old jerk. Last Saturday, he did not say one positive thing to me all day. He kept criticizing how I'm doing everything wrong and what not. I asked for a raise (bc it's been a year) and he flat out said absolutely not. I asked why and didn't even give me a clear response. I'm terrified of going anywhere near his office because he always questions me and makes me feel bad when I open my mouth. I hate my coworkers and the job just doesn't interest me anymore. I leave for vacation in two weeks. Should I tell him this week that I'm only working until I leave and won't be coming back after that? What do I say to him? Help, please!

here's the thing. i've been working there for five months now, but i honestly can't take it anymore. originally, my friend & i were hired as replacements for a girl who had been there for ten years. they trained us but now everything seems to be falling apart. we have ZERO respect over there. and it's not like we're not trying. we're young and we make mistakes. we're not friggin doctors so how are we supposed to have everything memorized. they expect us to work there for the next couple years. they've changed a lot of things at the work place because they thought we couldn't handle things. plus, i didn't realize before i accepted the job that it would conflict with an internship i would be taking after the new year. how do i tell them i'm quitting. he's already had a heart attack from too much stress at work. i'm also terrified of them giving me a bad reference for future jobs. some of the ladies don't seem to like us very much. what am i supposed to do? should i talk to him now and tell him i'm not coming back after the new year? then later should i hand him a letter of resignation? help!

i'll try to paint the scene as best as i can. we have a czech man and an australian woman. they were never married but had five kids who were born in australia. but the dad ended up w/ custody so he took all the kids back to czech republic to live for many years until they were of legal age.

my cousin has always been like an older brother to me. we were big sports fans & would play ball together @ fam bbqs & get-togethers all the time. he actually coached me in a way. but when he started bringing his gf to the fam events, things changed. a bunch of us would suggest playing some bball/vball on teams like we always did and she totally brought the idea down. she didn't even give him a chance to answer himself. then when he proposed, she wasn't happy w/ the ring and the poor guy had to work to pay off the new one. when the wedd plans were underway, she told me i was going to be a bridesmaid. my plans had changed and i ended up not making it to the wedding and she resented me for it ever since. she dragged him to live in another city and completely isolated him from our family. then when she got pregnant, she TOLD MY MOTHER that we should send over a package for the baby. now my aunt is saying that we should come over more often so that i can play with the baby and watch it. i'm a freaking adult in my 20s and fed up w/ that entire side of the fam. what is wrong w/ everyone?
