  • How did the U.S. become involved in the politics of Southeast Asia back in the 1950's?

Was it because of Communism? In what ways did the U.S. involvment impact the political climate of the 1950's? Is this the reason why Eisenhower lost the election to JFK?

  • What are the benefits and challenges of my plan?

This is for my assignment for Science.

My plan to reach sustainability is similar to the governments, but my plan has more regulating. If a person breaks the law, they will be fined. To help guarantee the long-term sustainability of the program, I will need the communities involvement in my plan. In my plan I will acknowledge community efforts by giving some of the benefits of protected aarea conservation back to the local people in the community.

What are the benefits and challenges of my plan? I just need some ideas to help me along. Thanks.

  • help please !?

The largest Hispanic groups in the United States are Mexicans, Puerto Ricans and Cubans. Hispanics are also one of the lease educated ethnic groups in the country. (Estrada, 1988; Broun 1992).

Mexican Americans came to America for labor and to seek the American Dream but lack the education to help them to advance to higher paying jobs. Some go through high school but do not advance to college and some drop out of high school. In the labor field Mexicans get fair pay though. They take pride in their family. Their women take charge of the food and decide what to fix each day. Mexicans speak a mixture of English and Spanish.

Puerto Rican Americans speak English but the Puerto Ricans speak mainly Spanish. Puerto Ricans tend to stay out of mainstream American cultural but the Puerto Rican Americans blend in with mainstream America by speaking English. Their families are important to them and respect is a vital role in the family’s relationship.

Cubans also speak Spanish but to set them apart from any other group they have their own style of music and food. Cuban Americans have assimilated themselves into mainstream America culture. Cubans are in tune with the GOP with their strong anti-communist stance and tend to be more supportive of abortion than any other Hispanic groups.

El Salvadorians primary tongue is Spanish and they are extremely poor but came to America to work and send money home to their families and to escape from war and poverty. Most El Salvadorians are illegal residents of the United States so they do not take part in politics or vote. Some El Salvadorians are Roman Catholic but some follow other religions. The El Salvadorians families are usually big and the women generally tend to the home and children. The female children that are older help tend to the other children. The men and boys are viewed as higher in rank and family order. They are seen as the providers for their family.

As you can see in my research there are similarities among the four Hispanic groups that I chose such as they are all Spanish speaking, family oriented, have there is respect for family in each of them.
