5 AnswersOther - Politics & Government9 years agowhy was abortion proclaimed illegal?
greed. plain and simple.
The strongest force behind the drive to criminalize abortion was the attempt by doctors to establish for themselves exclusive rights to practice medicine. They wanted to prevent "untrained" practitioners, including midwives, apothecaries, and homeopaths, from competing with them for patients and for patient fees.
The best way to accomplish their goal was to eliminate one of the principle procedures that kept these competitors in business. Rather than openly admitting to such motivations, the newly formed American Medical Association (AMA) argued that abortion was both immoral and dangerous. By 1910 all but one state had criminalized abortion except where necessary, in a doctor's judgment, to save the woman's life. In this way, legal abortion was successfully transformed into a "physicians-only" practice.

9 AnswersElections9 years agohaving more kids in America is the right thing to do. agreed?
since the next generation will inherit an incredible tax burden, would it not be prudent to have more kids to spread the burden a little thinner? a larger tax base would expedite an economical recovery for the next generation.

1 AnswerOther - General Health Care10 years agoWho are more cult-like? Catholics? or Mormons?
i'm not a religious person really, so i view it as a bystander would. given that, it seems to me the catholics are closer to a cult than any religion i've witnessed. i put this question against the mormon religion simply because a southern bible thumper said the mormons are a 'cult' in the news today.

1 AnswerOther - Internet10 years agoDo you feel vulnerable?
america being so absolutely poor these days, i worry for my safety and protection.
with pakistan looking like our next enemy for supporting terrorism against the united states and it's interests around the world, and america talking from both sides of its mouth regarding israel, i feel like something's got to give real soon.
pakistan has nukes. i would not be too suprised to see one in the hands of a terrorist organization. that toubles me deeply.
the situation regarding israel is putting the US in a slippery situation. calling for a two state solution one year, and disregarding palestine's request to be recognized as such (respectully, of course) the next.
something's gonna give way to chaos.
