  • Should I move to Hungary for a year?

I m a 25 year old female. I work as a landscape architect for a top firm. I make 50k per year. I have an amazing apartment and a boyfriend of 3.5 years. I am nervous because I was offered a position near Budapest Hungary to work as a teacher for high school students. I would be teaching British literature in English. I would be gone for a full year. I am really torn. I believe it would be a great experience; however, I am afraid to leave everything I know for an entire year. i would only have $100/week pay. They would cover my living expenses and possibly food. However, I would have to pay my ticket to and from Hungary. I also have to pay two insurances and my student loan payments.

    What do you think?

  • Legal advice: how to find my grandpa in hospice?

My grandpa is in hospice, but my mother and I don't know where. His wife has full medical power of attorney and won't tell us. She cashed in policies that were meant for me and my mom and she doesn't want my grandpa to know about it. This is why she won't tell us where he is or let us see him. My father died and my grandma died. My grandpa is the only family my mom and I have left. We couldn't see him for Father's Day yesterday. My grandpas wife never visits him and he is wasting away in a hospice alone. How can I find him and see him?

  • My mom got drunk and missed my college graduation?

So basically, I'm 22 and my mom has had a drinking problem my whole life. When my father died in a Las Vegas hospital, I returned to the hotel and fell asleep. At around 4am four casino attendants carried my mom back in the room because she was so drunk. The day we spread my dad's ashes my mom got wasted and got in a serious car accident that crushed her skull and she was paralyzed. She fully recovered and had an amazing brain surgeon but she still drinks constantly. My grandma died and she was drunk at her funeral and made a scene. Now, a few months later, I am graduating college in architecture. I have no family except my mom. I really didn't want to attend the ceremony because it was just too hard for me. But my mom pressured me into it. I spend $180 on a cap and gown even though I'm broke. I went and she was so drunk. She never came. She kept leaving these voicemails on my phone and my boyfriends phone with slurring words and it didn't make sense. The only one there was my boyfriend. He's really the only one I have in my life. I am thinking of taking a year of not talking to her because she really doesn't treat me right sober and worse drunk. I think this would help me get out of a depressed state her actions help me have. What are your thoughts?

  • Undergrad degree in Landscape Architecture, now I want to go to Medical School. Advice?

I received my degree in Landscape Architecture and I want to go to Medical School to become a anesthesiologist. This poses as an issue because I only have taken physicals and pre-calc in my undergrad. Most medical schools require more science courses and higher levels of math.

Also, the landscape architecture program was very rigorous where I went. During my undergraduate career I had some traumatic events. My father and grandmother died, and my mom was in a bad car accident that left her paralyzed. Because of the hard times in my undergrad, my gpa is a 3.2. From what I read, this is too low for most medical schools.

Also, the high cost is an issue. Like most recent college graduates, I have no money and would need loans to fund my education.

    So my questions are:

Should I take more science and math courses? Can I do this at community college? Are there any med schools that will accept me without them?

What about medical school abroad? Are there schools that are cheaper? I would like to practice in the US so would it be difficult to get a residency in the US? I also only speak English and I can get by in Spanish.

    Thank you for your input.

  • 30 yr boyfriend with no car?

Hi there, I'm 22 and my boyfriend is almost 30. We both live in a apartment. Our lease will be up in 7 months. Basically, he's an international student getting his phd in chemistry. I'm getting my undergrad in architecture. I will graduate in a few months. He will be done with his PhD in a year and a half. He gets paid for his research but not much. He doesn't have his drivers license even though he's lived here for four years. We live in az so a car is needed to get around. My previous car broke down and i bought a new one. The car payments and everything are killing me. I'm so stressed and it's frustrating that I have to drive him around. There were many instances where it would be nice if he drove. For instance, my grandma died and I was so upset but I had to drive home since he couldn't. He keeps saying he will get his drivers license and after a year he hasn't. He said he will save for a car but hasn't. And he is a international student so he can't get car loans. Idk

  • Cat problems? Shelter?

I have had my cat for four years. Almost all four years, I have had trouble with her peeing on beds or couches, really anything soft. The first time this happened I took her to the vet and she had a urinary tract infection that she got from the shelter. I got her medicine and treated it. Even though she doesn't have a infection anymore, she still pees on the couch and bed. I am very concerned about this because I have room mates. I have tried everything! Even using citrus spray...everything. I don't know what to do. I am considering bringing her to a shelter even though I have been against doing that my whole life. It is so stressful that she pees every time I let her near something soft. I am so sick of constantly cleaning everything. My father passed, my mom was in a car accident and became paralyzed, I am also a architecture student so this cat thing just adds to my mountain of stress. What should I do?

  • Persians and keeping relationships a secret?

Okay, so I am an American girl in my 20's. A year ago, I dated a Persian guy. At first we didn't make it public, but I didn't want to be in a secret relationship...so he made it public and all hell broke loose. The Persians at my university were judgmental because he wasn't dating a Persian. I would like to think I am attractive and intelligent, so it's not like I am strange or anything. I do have a few close Persian friends, and I started rooming with a Persian girl. Through her, I found out that even the Persians dating each other keep their relationships secret (even from their friends) in fear of being ridiculed. To me this is ridiculous, but I understand that Islam looks down upon dating, but most of the Persians here are not religious; yet, they are still so scared of the judgments.

Also, through my roommate I met another Persian guy. We didn't tell anyone we were dating for the same reasons...also he is in the same circle of friends as my previous Persian boyfriend.

Anyway, I really care about him, but I don't like the sneaking around. I don't know if I should end things. If I do break up with him, I will be very sad because he is very thoughtful, compassionate, intelligent. Also, he has revitalized a creative spark in me that has been dead for quite some time. But I don't like all this hiding and fake-ness associated with this particular Persian Community at my university. It's draining. And our circles of friends can never intertwine since, these people are so cliquish. Any advice?

  • Not sexually attracted to my boyfriend?

So, I started dating this guy. I would.like to think I am physically attractive. I'm tall, blonde, blue eyes, but he is about 2-3 inches shorter. He's very skinny. Anyway, I didn't care about these things because he is highly intelligent and talented and very kind to me. We just click, however, we have been dating for 2 months now and we were making out and started to feel each other up for the first time. I felt him and his penis was like an inch or maybe two inches big! It was soo small! I click with him in so.many ways and I am trying to connect physically but I don't know if I can! Am I just being shallow or what?

  • Am I being scammed on model mayhem?

I have recently been a part of model mayhem and have been doing some modeling with photographers I met from this site. I have been asked to do a shoot with Louis Vuitton. But I am skeptical. They sent me a check for $2,311.00. I am supposed to keep $300 and sent the rest to my make up artist. The $300 covers my transportation allowance. I will be paid close to $3,000 for the actually shoot which is a month away. I am supposed to send the money in two transactions via western union. :/

  • What pet bird should I get?

I had my heart set on a pionus. I have wanted one for 10 years; however, I was a victim of identity theft and lost $2200 dollars. A pionus is about $600, and i dont know if I will be able to save the kind of money anytime soon. I have a large bird cage...empty of course with 3/4" spacing with a playtop and a separate perch. Is there a similar bird that is less expensive that is similar to the pionus that I can put in my cage?

    Thanks,

  • Pionus or Senegal Parrot?

Which to get? There's a Senegal that I will be meeting tomorrow. This Senegal can talk and do tricks. The Senegal's rehoming fee is $400. There's a Maxi Pionus baby that will be $580 after shipping.

I would like a quiet bird, that will be okay sitting on a perch while I work. I do think a talking bird would be entertaining though.

  • Which Parrot to get: Pionus, Green Cheeked Conure, or Meyers Parrot?

I have a rather large cage with a play top. The bar spacing is 3/4 of an inch. I also have a perch.

I live in an apartment so a quiet bird the better.

I also like talking birds. But it's not a necessity.

I would like to bring the bird to my studio to chill on a perch while I work, then bring him home at night.

If you have experience with these birds please share. Also, do the different mutations of the green cheeked conures have different personality traits than the normal green cheeked? I am partial to the pineapple green cheekeds myself.

  • Pionus Parrots: Get a juvenile parrot or an adult?

So there's a juvenile baby that is 12 weeks, hand-fed and weaned. There is also another adult that is 1 to 2 years old. I like the idea of adopting a previously owned parrot and giving it a loving new home, but maybe it would be better to bond with a younger baby juvenile. What are your thoughts?

  • Quaker parrot vs Pionus Parrot?

Trying to decide what bird to purchase. I wanted an indian ringneck, but i visited them at the store and they were way too hyper. I am looking for a loving calm bird. I do want my bird to talk. I like the medium sized birds. I think the ringneck size is too small but the macaws are too big. I live in an apartment. I am looking for a bird that can travel with me to my architecture studio and hang out with me on a perch during the day and come home with me at night. What are peoples experiences with these birds? Any information is appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Annie

  • What parrot should I get?

After much online search I decided I wanted a indian ringneck; however, after visiting one at the store, I quickly changed my mind. They were much too hyper and not really cuddly. I loved a pionus parrot and african grey. The Macaws screaming was far too much for me. I need a bird that is more laid back, will bond to me, be intelligent, I know all birds are noisy but I cant have the Macaw screams, I dont want a parrot that is too small either, i like the medium sized guys. I would like a cuddly, talkative and colorful bird. Obviously, I am asking for a lot but what do you believe is the best bird for me? I also do a lot of work at my architecture studio, so a bird that can travel well from home to my studio is ideal.

The pet store is selling a pionus parrot with the cage for $700 or an african grey with the cage for $900. What do you think about this, also what other bird types do you suggest?

    Thanks
