  • Workout Routine for a skinny guy?

I'm 5'10" and 160lbs. While I am skinny, i'm not "bony." I've been cycling recently and I have been shedding away what fat I have. I want to start lifting weights but my goal isn't really to get huge. I really like the "lean" look and I was wondering how should I go about my workout routine.

Based on simple google searches I've seen alot of talk about this 5x5 routine but I don't really know much. I am a student with no job so I have all the free time for this summer to at least get a base going for the fall.

Just to give you an idea where I am starting at: I can do 2 pull ups (both chin ups and wide grip) about 20 push ups. My entire body shakes when doing a plank. I have decent legs because of my bicycle

I burn a lot of calories when riding my bike 1500-2500 per session about 4 times a week but I eat a lot of unhealthy food.I just started these type of intense cycling sessions about a month ago..

Also this is what I look like now(the pic on the left) : http://skinnyfatmusclebuilding.com/wp-content/uplo...

  • How to play piano sheet music that has three lines of notes (Vocals)?

I have a song I want to play (Feeling Good - Michael Buble cover). I have the sheet music but I want to play the vocals with my right hand. I don't want to sing the song, I want to play it in its entirety. I though of combining the treble and bass notes but later on it the song it gets too hard.

Should I just omit the bass clef part or skip the treble part and play the vocals with my right hand?

Btw I only have 1 year of "piano lesson" experience and a few years of intermittently learning some random songs.

  • 2 front gears vs 3 front gears on a road bike?

Right now i'm riding a 3x7 old 90's road bike. I'm upgrading to a new road bike and I was wondering if I should get a 2x10 or a 3x10 road bike.

    Here are my concerns:

I have never used the 1st gear on my current bike.

I bike in a city that has only hills, but I get by dropping to my second gear if i'm climbing.

I heard the 2x10 needs less maintenance for the front gear since the shifter doesn't move as much

I don't race at all. I just commute and do the occasional fitness ride.

  • Smartphone for Straight Talk?

I have had a $20 phone with Metro PCS for years now. I'm ready to upgrade to a smartphone on Straight Talk.

Here is how I intend to use my new smartphone:

    talk/text

    mp3 player

surfing the web from time to time. (i have a laptop for primary internet use)

    Battery life is priority

    Don't care about a keyboard

I would prefer to be able to skip songs without touching the screen (buttons on the case, headphone buttons - I would like to run with music without pulling out the phone.

I don't care about the camera.

screen resolution and clarity is a plus

    responsiveness is a priority

  • Left hand is playing louder on piano than right hand?

I took 1 year of piano lessons about 6 years ago, and since then I have been teaching myself my favorite songs on and off. (This is a really slow process,I usually give up learning a song about 2 pages in) Anyways on a song i'm learning now, my left handed notes sound a lot louder than the melody. When I try to play softer, my right handed notes decrease in volume proportionally. Is there a method of fixing this where the left handed notes support the melody rather than competing with it.

  • Is there somewhere I can download the "installed" versions of Xbox 360 games?

Whenever I buy an Xbox 360 game I install it first. However, I just bought a used game and it won't fully install because it is scratched. I was wondering if I could just download the file from the internet and put it on my Xbox 360 so I can play the game with my scratched disc.

Also, I can load the game with reading the disc normally but after a few minutes it says the disc is unreadable.

  • Can I transfer personal media content to my Xbox 360 Slim?

I have a vast music/video collection, I've acquired over the years. I would love to be able to store the files on my xbox since i'm only using 10% of its available memory. I've heard you burn songs onto the xbox using blank CDs, but is there a more efficient way of transferring content with a cable or usb, etc.

  • Can you rotate a single charge with 3 different credit cards?

Lets say you buy something worth $500 with Credit Card #1.Then you pay that charge off with a second card.

Now the 2nd card has a balance of $500 while the first card has a $0 balance. Now with a 3rd credit card, you pay the $500 so the 3rd card has the $500 and the 2nd card now has a $0 balance.

Finally you pay the 3rd card's balance with the original 1st credit card. So theoretically can you transfer the $500 balance around the 3 cards? If so, can you do this process every three months so you would never have to pay the balance with your own personal cash?

  • Can you share media content with only a wireless router? No modem or internet?

I want to stream videos/music between my laptop and xbox 360. They are already connected previously at house with internet and xbox live. But i'm visiting family and wanted to stream movies.

Can I just plug in a wireless router and have both the laptop and xbox connect to the router and stream through a "LAN" connection? If so, how?

  • First date ideas for someone who's never had a date?

I'm a 21 year old male, and never been on a date...i know. I finally asked a girl out and I don't think I can carry a conversation on for a full dinner. So where can I take her that allows room for pauses without it being awkward?

    If it matters:

    she's 18

she's a co-worker but our schedules only match once every two weeks. (thats how we met).

at work, conversation is very easy for me because I can just leave when things seem to settle down.

We chilled outside of work once at it was great. We had a great natural conversation in the cold outside for 1-2 hours but idk if i can do it again.

  • Can a Blind person learn Braille by themselves?

I have an older uncle who is going blind. He wants to start learning braille. However he doesn't have anyone to help him learn. Is there a program similar to Rosetta Stone for learning Braille. Obviously he can't use a simple Braille book because he can no longer see. Basically I'm looking for a commercially available Audio driven Braille learning program.

  • Can someone else play my Xbox 360 downloaded games on a different gamertag?

I want to sell my xbox to my friend and I want him to keep the downloaded games I bought from Xbox live. I have no intention of re downloading the games on a different system but my friend will have his own gamertag, not mine. Will he be able to play those games without any trouble?

  • How to cut without losing muscle mass?

For my first bulk ever I went from 9.9% to 14.9% body fat in 7 weeks. That s 162lbs to 174lbs (5'10"). I gained 2-3lbs of muscle and 11-12lbs of fat.

I'm quite disappointing with how much fat I gained so I am just going to cut and start my bulk over.

In the past I had no problems with losing weight but I never checked my fat percentages before. This is my first time working out so I don't want to lose any of my muscle progress. I just need to know the general idea of how to avoid burning off my muscle.

Do i still lift heavy with low reps or light weight with high reps? Do i eat more or less protein/carbs/fats?

  • Which level of bicycle parts should I look for my level of riding?

I want to upgrade from my Trek 1100 (road bicycle) with Edge components. I'm looking on Bike Direct and the level for the parts seem to vary prices. (Sora, Tiagra, Ultegra, etc.) What kind of bike/components should I aim to get for commuting (10 miles a day) with the occasional 30 mile bike ride.

The parts don't have to be the lightest or carbon fiber. I'm not really worried about being aerodynamic. I wear basketball shorts with a cotton t-shirt on my bike (a big no-no apparently) I just want to get the best bike for my budget. I'm looking to spend $600.

  • Whats the point of cardio if you have to replenish your lost calories?

On a sensible diet to lose weight a typical guy should have a 500 calorie deficit from his BMR or maintenance level.

Lets say for me, my maintenance level was 2500 calories per day. If I just eat 2000 calories a day and avoid exercise, won't that be the same as eating 2500 calories a day and burning 500 calories by doing cardio?

The net intake of calories is still 2000 calories...

Yesterday evening I worked my Chest/Triceps. Today I want to work my Back/Biceps. Since Chest/Triceps are push motions, and Back/Biceps are pulling motions, is it ok if I do the workout without a days rest between?

    Thursday:Chest/Back

    Friday: Back/Biceps

  • What muscular weight should I set a goal for bulking?

I am 5'10" and 167lbs. I'm %10 body fat with not much muscle definition.

This is not me but is what my body looks like :http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/attachment.php?...

This is my goal after bulking/cutting : http://www.kineda.com/photos/lifestyle/abs.jpg

Basically I don't know how much weight I should gain. And i'm sure i don't have much muscle hiding under my fat since the only dumbells I can use in my workouts are in the 25-30lb range. (Except for my back which is 35-45lbs) I can't even do a single pull up

  • 1 dog, 4 people in the house? obedience problems?

My 3 roommates and I are thinking of getting a dog. We are all going to "own" the dog. I am going to attempt to train the dog through showing my dominance over him. However, will having other roommates taking care of this dog confuse the dog when it comes to obedience.

Example: if it thinks of me as the alpha male, will it be less obedient to the other people, or aggressive?

  • Road bike or Commuting/hybrid bike?

I live in Athens, GA which is nothing but hills. I only ride on pavement but I do ride in all types of weather.

Right now I have a trek 1100 road bike and I love the speed I can get with it. However when it rains, i feel a bit unsafe turning corners. I was thinking of upgrading to a new bike with a budget of $600 but I don't know which will be better. I've never ridden a hybrid before so I don't know the pros and cons.

Btw I don't have a car and I will be selling my current Trek bike to help pay for my new bike.
