  • Can my husband re-enlist in the military if he was diagnosed with PTSD *prior to service*?

My husband was honorably discharged from the Navy with 30% disability from the VA - 10% of that was from PTSD that was connected to something in his childhood (nothing from when he was in the service) that created problems for him while he was in. The other 20% were physical problems.

He has spoken to a recruiter from both the Navy Reserves and the Army, and neither of them has said that he would be completely unfit to serve again (his separation code is written so that he CAN go back in). However, they did both hesitate when he explained that 10% of the disability was from PTSD. It was a civilian social worker on base who diagnosed it, not someone in the Navy. The situation is one that makes everyone uncomfortable to talk about, and so far he hasn't had to come right and say what happened to him, but because the recruiters sort of balk when he touches on the subject, it's hard to say if this is something that will disqualify him from future service.

Is it possible that he won't get back in because of his childhood trauma, something which did not come up during his initial enlistment? Or is it possible that the recruiters are merely uncomfortable with the subject matter?

  • Is a degree from DePaul University in Chicago considered prestigious?

I can't seem to find much about the school's rankings or how people in the field regard DePaul. I'm considering pursuing a Master's degree in writing and publishing, either to go back into the publishing field in a few years, or to teach at the community college level.

  • Why is my dog losing so much fur in the winter?

My ten year old Aussie/Lab mix is losing chunks of fur in the middle of the winter, but the way she does in the summer. I don't notice any actual bald patches so I'm not sure if it's serious enough to warrant a trip to the vet.

But it does concern me because I have never seen these tufts of fur come out in such huge chunks the way it is right now. It's usually only like this in the summer and we take her to the groomer to have her undercoat brushed out.

  • Facial mole growing a skin tag?

I have had a mole underneath my right eye for most of my life, but it has recently grown a small skin tag that is noticeable. I have lots of those, but have never noticed one growing out of a mole. It is black on the end, which is what bothers me, and is tender to touch. Should this be a concern?

I would go to a dermatologist, but I don't have any health insurance right now and am a student on a limited budget.

  • Cystic Acne and Sun Damage Advice?

In the past five years or so, I've developed cystic acne, as well as noticing a lot of sun damage on my face from tanning beds when I was younger. I am fair-skinned and have tried to avoid the sun as much as possible lately to ward off any future damage.

I have not been able to go find a good remedy or treatment for either my acne or the spots on my face and I've noticed lately both are getting worse. I've tried everything from Target-brand exfoliating scrubs to $50 tubes of retinol from Philosophy, and nothing has really helped.

Is it possible to actually "reverse the signs of sun damage" as some commercials state, or do I actually have to go in and pay a ton of money for a chemical peel?

  • What does it cost to rent a Landmark Theatre in Indianapolis for a video game party?

I want to throw a surprise birthday party for my husband in June and discovered that Landmark Theatres rent out to people with game systems, including catering. I filled out the reservation form online weeks ago and have heard nothing back. Does anyone have any clue what this would cost for about 15-20 people? Thank you!
