English is the global language of business. Changing words in America can be confusing to people of other lands where proper English is taught.
We say:
“Gender” when we should say “sex”
“Gender” applies to grammar. (masculine, feminine and neuter)
“Impact” when we should say “affect”
“Impact” refers to a hit or collision.
“Ms.” when we should say “Miss or Mrs.”
“Ms.” Is the abbreviation for manuscript.
“Arsenal” when we are referring to a “collection”
An “arsenal” is only the building where weapons are stored.
“On board” when we should say “aboard”
“On board” means “on a board”.
“Like” when we should say “as if”
Example: He acted like I insulted him.
