Would you support making smoking completely illegal in the U.S.?
The only reason it isn't illegal is it brings in a lot of tax $, generally from the poor.
8 AnswersOther - Society & Culture9 years agoAre we really afraid China or Russia will invade the U.S.?
I am having an argument with someone on FB about why we (the U.S.) need to spend so much on the military. One of us is arguing that we need to to make sure we aren't invaded by China or Russia, do you think that is a valid point? I will add my thoughts after about 1 hr.
14 AnswersMilitary9 years agoChristians: agnostics and atheists are part of one of the fastest-growing demographics in the US?
The US is increasingly portrayed as a hotbed of religious fervour. Yet in the homeland of ostentatiously religious politicians such as Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry, agnostics and atheists are actually part of one of the fastest-growing demographics in the US: the godless. Far from being in thrall to its religious leaders, the US is in fact becoming a more secular country, some experts say. "It has never been better to be a free-thinker or an agnostic in America," says Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the FFRF.

I think there is hope for our country. The faster growth is in young people. I see a tidal wave of young people realizing religion is all a bunch of BS.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoHow long do you think it will take for us to finally outgrow religion?
I believe within 100 years, it will be just a small group of weirdos (as opposed to the large group now) that believe in the ancient mythology.
25 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoHow can Christians on YA that say science is evil, false and wrong do so sitting @ and using their computer?
I am talking to the Christians that feel that way about science, I don't need to hear how lots of Christians believe in science.
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoChristians; does it bother you that there is a correlation between higher IQ and lack of religion?
More educated nations have less interest in and need for religion http://hypnosis.home.netcom.com/iq_vs_religiosity....
States that are the most religious are most illiterate and states with highest IQ are less religious http://i.imgur.com/kpb5A.png
23 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoDo people honestly believe in "Hell" with the lava and fire etc....?
I get, to some small extent, people believing in heaven and religion. But to truly believe there is a "Hell" where people burn for eternity in a lake of fire/lava... Really? How can anyone honestly believe that? It sounds more ridiculous than believing in witches or monsters. I would expect it from people in the dark ages (or before) or from the illiterate among us, but not from rational, educated adults.
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoChristians, You say to atheists, "what if you are wrong"?
So by your logic, shouldn't I believe in every "God" from every religion, just in case Zeus or Odin etc. is the correct one?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoChristians, does it bother you that there is a high correlation between illiteracy and religiousness?
From country to country, the more advanced & educated they are the less religious they are (with the U.S. being the 1 big exception) and in the U.S. the most religious states are also the most illiterate & poor with Mississippi and Alabama leading the way as most religious States.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoI changed my display name over a week ago but it still show the old name in YA?
I changed my display name a week ago and it still hasn't changed. I clicked on "Edit My Preferences" then "Change name", then I entered the new name in the "change display name" box that popped up. I then clicked save, the box goes away and I clicked submit.
If I go into my profile or "pulse" it shows the new name. No where (other than YA) does it show my old name....?
What am I missing?
1 AnswerYahoo Answers10 years agoChristians, why do you take some part of the Bible figuratively and other literally?
Isn't that very convenient?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoChristians like to say they don't need to prove "God", atheists need to disprove...?
...Do you get that that is no more logical than me saying you need to disprove the Creator "Herbert" who is an invisible rabbit. He created the universe, I know it because I feel him in every thing I do and it says so in this book I have here:
"Bugs 12:26 - I am Herbert, and all that you see, and don't see, I created"
also
"Roger 3:42 - I sayeth, thou shall eat no rabbits, because it pisses me off and you shall spend eternity watching reruns of "The View" if thou hast"
And
"Thumper 24:7 - Thou shall follow no other Creator, they are false and foolish, follow only me with offerings of carrots and clover."
See, it is written, so it must be true!
I hope you have eaten no rabbits, that is a horrible punishment...
He is real, sorry you have been following your false god for so long. If you don't believe me you need to prove he doesn't exist.
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoFor those that say atheists can not disprove "God".?
The same argument can be made about Zeus or the tooth fairy. What makes your point any more valid?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoChristians the believe that the entire world was under water in "the flood".?
The Bible gives the date of the flood as beginning 2345 BCE and ending in 2344 BCE. The Egyptian empire/civilization was going strong at that time, the Sphinx was built before 2500 BCE. Their civilization didn't all die in some flood, it continued on for 1000's of years with no record of any flood. Explain...
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoChristians (or anyone) that believes the world is 6,000 years old...?
There were cultures and civilizations dating back 10,000 to 12,000 years ago. Do you think they enjoyed watching "God" create the universe?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoWhy is it OK for Christians to knock on my door and force their stupid beliefs on me? Could you imagine if...?
...Atheists went door to door spreading the word that believing in "God" is really pretty ignorant, small minded and stupid.
We would never do that, why do Christians?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoHow is it that the only time science is wrong is when it contradicts the bible?
The computer you are using, to the chair you are sitting on was made with some form of science and with scientific discoveries. From the car you drive, to the cell phone you use, and putting men on the moon and satellites around other planets, all done with science. But when it contradicts the bible "science doesn't know what it is talking about & it is evil"....
Really?
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoChristians, if we are visited by an alien race, would you tell them they need to believe in Jesus...?
...or go to hell?
Could you blame them if they laughed in your face?
