I am an Indian myself but I am very light skinned and sharp faced for an Indian. I look like an Iranian or Albanian. My face is also kinda sharp (long forehead, medium lips, long nose etc). People (especially in South India) think I am from White or something. Sometimes they touch my skin. They say any girl will like me because I am very handsome, light skinned and not dark. I mean why are many Indians like this especially the dark skinned ones so obsessed with light skin?

I am 22 right now and work for a multinational corporation. I was the top scorer in primary school. I was also good in secondary school. I became disinterested in academics in high school and got very bad grades thereby not having the opportunity to choose a good university. I could not attend a good university but I have a good job now. I am again very interested in academics and want to do a PhD. I regret why I did not put efforts to study well and get into a good university now and I feel ashamed of the university I graduated. I am not comfortable saying the university I graduated. Do I have some sort of problem. I also sometimes think if I am not intelligent but stupid. I become so depressed about how people think of me. The important thing I get depressed about is when people make fun of me for not being able to attend a top university

My father is White/German and my mother is Indian. I have never felt white in my life and also I hate my father and what he did to my mother. He cheated on her and it is because of my mother and her affection towards me that is keeping me alive. I had a German name as my surname but removed it and kept my mother's surname as my surname.
