  • Can a cold/fever cause your period to be late?

My last period started October 19th, and it has yet to arrive this month. I wouldn't say that my periods are reliable, but they're good at coming near the end of every month.

I got sick around November 9th, and I was sick for almost a week with a cold and a fever, though I don't know how high the fever was. Knowing my history with fevers, it most likely was over 100 degrees. It was bad enough to make me sleep all the time and cause my head to hurt.

I'm no longer sick, but my period has yet to arrive.

Could the cold/fever cause a delay? If so, how long would that kind of delay last? A few days? A couple weeks?

  • I need $1000 to go back to college... Any suggestions how?

I need to pay back a loan my college gave me ($1000) before I can go back to the college, but I'm in a money rut right now. I have a job, but it's not giving me enough hours to really save up anything. On average, I get $25-$50 a pay check (I get paid every week), and most- or all- of it goes to gas to go to work the next week. I've been out of school for a year now, and it's KILLING me! I want to get my degree, get a decent job, and move on with my life... but I can't with this stupid loan blocking the way. :'(

I've tried getting a full-time job, but it's extremely hard right now trying to find one- especially in a college town! (I live in Gainesville, FL)

I've come up with some ideas, but I don't know how successful they would be. Could you give me some tips on how to start one of my existing ideas, or give me new suggestions that you have found effective?

    These are my recent ideas:

    T-shirt design

    Jewelry making

    Countless bake sales

Selling a lot of what I own on eBay/Craigslist

Donating plasma until I'm completely drained

Any advice would be great! I really want to go back to school! :-D

  • I'm Trying To Find A Job, But I Don't Have References...?

    What can I do?

Nobody wants to hire someone without references... but I really need a job! I'm getting cut off from everything until I get one, and I really want to move out of my parent's house. I'm 20 by the way.

I have work experience, but I haven't spoken to anybody from my previous jobs in almost a year.

My first job was a teaching job at a high school in another city. I taught their marching band program, so it was technically a seasonal job.

My second job was a seasonal position at JCPenney, which I got laid off from after the holidays. I have gone back there and re-applied several times, but they never contacted me for another interview (my most recent re-application was mid-November).

My third job was at Subway, but I quit after a month because my manager yelled at me so much for no reason (he liked yelling at the new people, and he even made me cry during my shift one night after insulting me in front of everyone).

I'm trying to find another job, hopefully a full-time job. It's just really difficult to do so without any good references. I'm also trying to stay away from anything food-oriented. My experience at Subway scarred me for life. :(

    Any advice?

  • Can anyone help me get a hold of some money really FAST!?

I'm currently enrolled at my college on a tuition-only loan, and I am not allowed to receive any more financial aid from my school this semester- which means I have to pay for my books and supplies out-of-pocket.

Well, I'm broke, and I still have no books or supplies, and it's almost the 3rd week of school! Nobody in my family has enough money to help me out, and I can't get a job because I'm too busy during the day with school and marching band rehearsals.

I don't know if anyone out there knows of any loans I can apply for, any loan companies you know/trust, or anything else that could really help me out...

I have to pass all of my classes this semester with a "C" or better, or else my school will not be able to give me financial aid ever again! I need school supplies and books! Please help me! :(

  • What Color Should I Dye My Hair? (picture included)?

This is my hair right now:

    http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2307/...

It's Dark Brown now, with some weird Blonde tips that will never go away. Anytime I dye my hair (even Black) it never stays any longer than a week, and it fades back to this exact color everytime! I hate it! I'll use permanent hair dye on it, but it will never stay! :(

I want to dye it Black again because I think I looked better with really dark hair, but I want to see what you guys think...

What color should I dye my hair? What products do you recommend to get that color, and last the longest?

  • Military Branch That Will Educate A Woman?

I've always wanted to join the Military since I was young. It runs in my family- my Grandpa was a Marine, my Grandma was in the NAVY, my uncle was in the NAVY, my Dad tried the Marines, and my mom has been to a NAVY boot camp. I would be the first one of my two other siblings to do it, but I don't know which branch is right for me.

I'm 19 years old, and in my first semester of college for a Biological Sciences major, and I am really hoping to continue my education until I get at least my B.A., preferably an M.A.

I've looked into the Coast Guard because they have a school that has Environmental Science as one of its majors, as well as a Band program (I also do music).

Would this be a good choice for me? I know there are lots of you out there that are in the Military, and I'm hoping some of you might be able to help me out. I'm looking for a branch that will educate me, rather than get me ready for combat.

I haven't talked to a recruiter yet because I need to lose some weight first. I would feel awkward going up there now, and then hear them tell me that I need to lose about 40lbs. I'd rather lose the weight first so I don' have to hear crap about it when I talk to them.

I hope you guys can help me out! This is something I really want to do to better myself, my future, and to help our country...

  • Best Laptop to Play The Sims 2 On...?

I'm about to receive a laptop from my mom as a gift, but I'd like to tell her what kind I want before she races off and buys one that SHE likes. One of the big things I want in that laptop is the ability to play The Sims 2 with no trouble whatsoever. I don't want to have to buy upgrades or anything... just the game.

What kind of laptop should I get? If you have The Sims 2 on your laptop, what kind of laptop do you have? Is the speed still good after 6 months? Also, do you have expansion packs installed for your game? Does it majorly affect the speed?

    Thanks for your answers!

  • I Work At JCPenney, But I Need A Job That Pays Better...?

I just turned 19 in September, and I am getting ready to go to SFC in Gainesville, FL in January as a full-time student to major in Psychology- and possibly English later on at UF, or stay with Psychology and go to Johns Hopkins.

The point is, I really need a better job. I have to pay for schooling on my own, and I would like to move out of my parent's house and move somewhere closer to SFC to save me gas money (right now I live on the other side of town of SFC. It takes me about 30 min. to get there- without traffic).

I currently work at JCPenney's as a sales associate, and I get paid $7.75 an hour, but they work me rediculous hours (8-5, 10-9, 10-2, 11-9, etc.) that definitely would need to change when school starts because I'll have classes everyday until about 3:30pm- except the weekends. I'm working there for seasonal employment right now, but I'm hoping to find a better job that will give me less hours, but enough pay to kinda compensate ($8 and up?). The supervisor at JCPenney's is horrible at schedules, and will make you come to work on a day(s) that you needed/requested off, and she'll get mad at you if you tell her you can't come in. I want to work for a company that will respect my busy schedule, and work around my schedule- not me work around theirs.

JCPenney's is my second job. My first job was teaching Middle School and High School kids how to read music and march for a Middle/Senior High School's marching band. That was a seasonal job as well (summer). I would really like to work somewhere that will take me as a part time employee rather than a seasonal worker.

I'd prefer to work with animals, like at PETCO or Petsmart, but I think JCPenney's pays more than them... unfortunately. I also do not want to work at a fast-food place; I'm too slow lol. They'd fire me lol.

Anywhere is fine, as long as it's not like Hooters or anything like that.

I'd prefer a starting pay of $8 or more. $7.75 isn't enough! Gainesville is getting expensive now! :( And it's extremely rare that JCPenney's gives out raises (there's a woman who's been there for 35 years and is still paid $7.75 and she's never had a promotion)

Please help. I'd really like to grow up and move out of my parent's house and live on my own for college. I get so much more done when I am by myself, and I believe that I would be a better student if I was by myself with no distractions!

  • The Biggest Margarita Recipe Book?

I'm hoping to buy my mom and my step-dad a really big margarita recipe book for Christmas since they have a Margarator.

What recipe books do you recommend that you know are really big books (more than 50 pages?) and have a TON of recipes for them to try out?

I'm willing to buy more than one, if necessary.

  • Create mechanical animals and creatures, like Walking With Dinosaurs?

How do you go about persuing a career in building and designing creatures like the ones in the Walking With Dinosaurs The Live Experience show? It's absolutely amazing how they created the dinosaurs so that you could hop inside them and control them!

How would someone go about making that a career? What classes do you need to take, and what major in college would be the best to go for?

I know that a lot of the creations would probably be used as movie extras, but I'm still very interested in that field of work!

I'm 19 years old right now, and I'm going to Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL in January. What College or University should I transfer to after I get my A.A. or A.S.?

    I'm willing to relocate anywhere!

  • Best Place to Start Over?

I'm a 19 year old high school graduate from Gainesville, FL and I'm going to school in January for either Music Education or English. I hate Florida, and I am wondering where a good place to move is- in the US, UK, or some other country. I'd prefer to go somewhere where people speak English, but I'd be willing to learn a new language if I had the help. I want to go somewhere where there are nice people, there's nice weather, where it actually snows, where it's not too expensive to live in, and is fairly safe to live in.

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Is This Legal To Do In My Story?

I'm trying to write a story about a woman who inherits a farm for her 21st birthday, and finds an injured lop bunny and nurses it back to health.

Is it legal for me to use another character's name- from another story- to use for the bunny in my story?

I want to use the name Anton (from the book "Summer of My German Soldier"), because I want that to be my character's favorite character from that book.

Is that legal? Or should I pick another name?

What name would you pic for a male beige lop bunny? Not a "cutsie" name like Cupcake or Butterscotch- a handsome name.

  • Spent too much on my debit card- by 13 cents- am I in trouble?

I went to Wal Mart last night around 10:45pm and spent $21.03, but I only had $20 in cash on me, and $0.03 in my wallet, so I used my Wachovia debit card to pay for the last dollar. I thought I had about $3 left in there, so I thought there was no big deal... until I checked how much was on my card when I got home. The Wachovia automated voice guy told me I overdrew by $0.13- which freaked me out because I've never overdrawn before.

I was planning on going to the bank later today and depositing about $3 in my account so that there's something there to keep my account alive. Will the $3 become $2.87 because of the negative $0.13? Am I going to have to pay a fee? Will I be reported for overdrawing by $0.13?

It's been less than 24 hours since I overdrew, so can I just put some money in there and the negative will go away and I won't be in trouble with the bank?

I'm only 18... I don't want to ruin my credit.

  • Can I make my own community service hours sheet?

Am I allowed to go on to Microsoft Office or something and create my own community service hours sheet? I've found some, but they were for high school students, or for scholarships... mine are for no big reason. I just would like to have some community service hours while I'm going through college.

I have these categories... tell me if I missed one:

    Date

    Employer

    Time (Begin)

    Time (End)

    Total Hour(s)

    Signature

Also, if you know where I can just download some community service templates, can you send me the link? I looked on Microsoft.com, but I couldn't find any.

    Thank you! :)

  • What kind of cameras were used in Planet Earth?

What kind of high speed cameras were used in the Oceans one- when the Great White Shark eats the Seal?

Where can I find one of those cameras?

    How much will it cost?

What accessories can I buy to make it so that I can put the videos on my computer? My computer is Windows, not Mac.

Can I put the video(s) I make on a DVD? What accessories do I need to do that?

Also, what are the underwater cameras that they used?

Where can I get those? How much will they cost? etc... (same questions as the high speed cameras)

I would like to get my SCUBA license soon, and go out and video underwater life for fun. I am 18 years old. Also, does anyone know any safe places to SCUBA in Florida (I live in Gainesville)? I don't wanna get eaten on my first day out in the water!

  • Too Heavy To Dance? Need Help With Weight...?

I'm 18, turning 19 in Sept., I'm 5'10 1/2" and I'm a size 17. I've been active in marching band for 4 years. I have great arm and shoulder strength from that and strong thigh muscles too. I've taken like... 2 dance lessons before when I was young but couldn't continue because my parents didn't have the money. I still remember a lot from back then, and I've learned some new ballet terms over the years as well, so it's not like I'm completely "out of the loop". I've been told I have an excellent arch too. I know chances of going pro are slimmer than none, but I've always wanted to just learn how to do Ballet, and maybe go on to Pointe someday. The college I'm about to go to offers beginner Ballet classes, and I'm going to take them this coming fall. My only problem is my weight. I'm big, but it's not like I'm covered in rolls or anything. I have a very flat stomach (you can feel my hip bones), but my inner thighs are kinda embarassing... Any tips on losing weight before mid-August?

  • I don't want this to sound wrong... but how do you start a cult? (for a story!)?

I'm trying to write a story, and it involves the slow and subtle creation of a cult amongst a few friends that blows completely out of line and into a serious dilemma involving lots of people. I need some help with some "basic knowledge" of cults:

    1. What are some rituals that cults preform (good and bad)? Do they chant a certain song, prefer a certain color, or is most of their "culture" made up?

    2. Who joins cults? Lost souls looking for attention? People looking to excel in the ranks in hopes for control? People looking for an answer to life?

    3. I know cult members wear robes, but in my story I'm having them wear formal uniforms (like a soldier's uniform). I am doing this for the effect of "formality" and "unity" (part of their motto); in a way I want the cult to resemble the Nazis... good idea or bad idea? Why?

    4. What represents "change", "unity", and/or "destiny"? I am trying to design the logos for their sashes, medals, and weapons (swords, guns, [smoke/gas] bombs, etc)
