Gas heater won't stay on - replaced thermostat . . . ?
We have a Payne Plus 80 Gas heater. The pilot light is just fine. I just replaced the old thermostat (thinking that was the problem).
If I turn the power switch off then back on, the heater will kick in and run one or more cycles, bringing the heat up to the set temp. It used to be that if I didn't change the temp within 8 hours, it would maintain the temp until i changed it, then it would turn off. Now, I've reset the thing 3 times so far, and it isn't staying on.
If I touch the wires (red/white) together, it turns right on, so I thought it was a thermostat problem. Now I'm not so sure.
Any thoughts?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoBusiness Structure for Counseling/Consulting?
My mother is a counselor and teaches classes. Her focus is family/kids. I help her with the classes, provide some coaching services, and do consulting. We want to start a business, and have picked out a name. At this time we will split the profit from the classes, and we each will get what we earn from our individual activities less taxes.
We want to limit liability and maximize tax benefits. We live/work in Washington State. What form of business structure would you recommend and why? Our gut says LLC, but we aren't the experts. :)
We will be visiting with a lawyer or accounting executive to finalize the business, but wanted to gather some information ahead of time.
3 AnswersSmall Business1 decade ago2003 Dodge Grand Caravan SE SPORT vs 2006 Kia Sedona (or Nissan Quest) - What would you do?
Here is my dilema - My husband and I just had our first baby Christmas Eve. We decided that I would be a stay at home mom, so we've gone from 2 incomes down to 1 (so we're on a tight budget). We currently have a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder (owe $9500 on it still), a 2001 Dodge Neon, and a 1993 Pathfinder that we want to sell.
We've found a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport for $12000, and a 2006 Kia Sedona for $17000 (both low miles) (Also found a Nissan Quest 2004 for $17000.
- Hoping to get $6000 after paying off Pathfinder on trade in.
We would only need to finance 8k on the Dodge (lower our current monthly payment & allow us to replace husbands car with a truck sooner)
We would need to finance about $13k on the Kia, with about the same payments as now.
We would need to finance about $14k with the Nissan.
I think the Kia has better safety features, and I love the fact that the sliding door windows open.
My question to you - what would you do and why??
