    School bus stop sign law?

Got into in argument about some school bus stop sign rules.

Say I’m stuck in traffic on a two way road. As traffic starts to move a school bus stops next to me going the opposite direction. The stop sign comes out to let kids off. Just as the sign comes on my car is halfway past the back of the bus going the opposite direction. Do i stop and wait for the bus to leave or do I get out of the way as all the cars in front have already moved forward?

Some say i should wait until the bus leaves just for the kids sake but legally am i allowed to move if the I’m already the past the stop sign of the school bus? Hopefully the drawing makes sense.

  • Which came first: the word “fat”to describe large out of shape people or the word “fat” to describe a nutritional molecule?

Just find it odd that we use the word fat to insult people and also as a scientific term. Which came first? Why would scientist choose an insult to name this molecule or why did society start insulting people with a molecule name.

  • What came first: the word “fat” as in large person. Or fat molecule found in food.?

I find it odd that the word fat is a molecule that we use for nutrition but somehow it got associated with being large out of shape person. Just wondering which one came first. Why would scientist name a molecule something we use to insult people. Or why did we choose the insult to be a specific molecule.

  • Can a police officer just walk into any major event(concert, sporting event, ect)?

As a police officer can you just flash a badge a be allowed to enter a sporting event under guise of just being there to keep things safe? If so I wonder how many officers take advantage of that to see some cool events. I think I would be guilty of if too if I had that power lol

  • Why does more money in circulation cause inflation?

Why does more money in circulation cause prices to go up? I under stand with more money around people will spend more therefore decreasing supply. But just because supply is down, it doesn t mean a company will automatically raise prices.

If I owned a bread store and all of a sudden everyone wants my bread and I sell out quickly , I m not just going to raise the price of my bread. They ll just have to wait until I make more. I guess it would be dumb of me not to raise prices since they re willing to pay but let s say I m not greedy and just need enough to pay my bills.

In theory I get supply and demand but practically speaking I don t get why prices HAVE to be raised.

  • Why do super delegates have to pledge to a candidate?

It seems weird to have to decide before voting starts. And from what i hear most of them just change to the popular vote anyway so what's the point of pledging early on?

  • Why not parking tickets instead of boot?

I understand why cars get towed. If they are in the way of traffic or an event it needs to be taken away.

But why boot a car? Won t a parking ticket just have the same effect? And you no need for lugging around booting equipment.

If it s an issue of people not paying parking tickets (guilty), why not just add it to the yearly vehicle registration fee? Seems more efficient.

  • Why is "you" not spelled "u"?

My argument is why not make language more efficient. As far as I'm aware there is no other word that is spelled "u". When referring to yourself we spell it "I" not eye or igh or something strange. Seems like a waste to add two extra letters to something that already sounds like the one letter.

I know it looks childish but that's only because we're used to seeing it spelled "You". If you were taught different you wouldn't see it that way.

So what's the history of spelling You and I?

  • Why NSA cares if we know that we're being watched?

I mean I kind of always suspected it anyway. Snowden just confirmed it for all of us. I'm still going to use my phone and go online. I mean what other options do I have?

So why are they mad that this has been revealed? It's not like people have stopped using phones and the internet.

  • Why did this couple want paper napkins so bad?

I was at a restaurant the other day and the napkin situation was black linen. This couple sat down next to us and kept asking the staff to bring them paper napkins. Twice they messed up and brought them linen thinking they just wanted extra but they demanded paper.

I can't figure out why this couple was insisting on paper napkins. They were wearing dark outfits so it's not that they're trying to keep their clothes free of opposite colored lint. I've seen it happens two other times but I never gave it a second thought until this third time.

    NOW FOR SOME CONTROVERSY. lol.

The person or couple that was asking for paper instead of linen happen to be black all three times I've observed this. Maybe it was just a coincidence because I live in Atlanta and there is a higher population of Black people or there is something to it. But I can't figure out why they insisted in paper napkins. This was a nice, kind of above average prices for casual dining restaurant so I don't think it was a "lets gets some paper napkins so we can take them home" situation. They looked like a couple that had good money judging by their expensive looking outfits. They clearly could afford to eat there. They just really wanted paper over linen

I'm just stating my observations to help figure out this situation. Not jumping to any race conclusions yet but just thought it was interesting. Any paper napkin fans here that can shed light on this? I prefer linen and thought everyone did too.

  • Hypothetical Q. What if no one ever got police tickets?

Let's say the world somehow started behaving so that no one ever speeds, illegally park, j walk. Pretty much anything a cop can write a ticket for.

Then the police force would have a serious money issue. What would then happen? Will the city try to tax every one more or will they start trying to make up new laws to nickle and dime us? Will they get rid of some law enforcement?

I realize this has a .0000001% chance of happening but I'm curious to see what would happen

  • WARNING: VENTING Why is rental car service so bad in big northern cities but good in other big cities?

I travel for work 2-3 times a week all over the country. Especially when renting cars from all companies do I experience horrible service in airports like the NY area, Boston. The lines are ridiculously long even for fast break, gold, express, ect members. It took me an hour and half to get my last car at JFK from the moment I got in line until I was handed my keys

Yet I can go to Orlando and get in a car within 5-15 minutes.

Both airports are super busy and have record number tourism. Why can one handle more than the other?

Is it a space thing? Like Florida has more space to bring In more cars? NY and Boston don't really have much room to expand their parking space?

What about employees? There's never enough and everyone has to wait 30+ minutes just to get helped. Poor counter employee is constantly apologizing for the wait. He or she has little help

And this isn't just a one time experience. This is consistent. I've been doing it for 3 years.

Also rental car prices are super high. I can rent a car in Phoenix for $20 bucks a day sometimes. NY is 80 per day and that's actually a bargain. Sometimes almost 200 per day. You would think with what they charge they can keep up with the demand and expand their facilities and hire more help. What exactly is it that they are charging so much for? Fees owed to the airport?

I understand big cities up north are more expensive to live in but why would a rental car cost more? It's just a car!!

And with my final thought F**K BUDGET WITH AN HIV CARRIER!!!!

  • Do big banks fight over territories?

Do big banks tell each other to back off their territories?

I go visit my parents in SC/NC and i have to remember to carry cash from GA. The reason why is because i can not find a single Chase branch or ATM in the entire state of NC or SC and i refuse to pay ATM fees not because I'm broke but out of principle that banks already make billions. Charlotte is a big city so why not have business there?

I know Bank of America has their HQ in Charlotte. So is BoA telling Chase to back off like a dog marking their territory?

I'm just spinning plates in my head. I have no idea how banking laws and zoning works. I just find it weird that there is a Chase branch in every corner in GA and every other state i go to but not even as much as an ATM in the ENTIRE STATE. "What's the deal"(seinfeld voice)

  • Why in professional soccer players are more open?

I'm watching a pro game right now on tv and it seems like players are always wide open in the midfield to receive the ball and have time to create plays.

When I played in high school the defense was always so tight i couldn't even hold the ball for 2 seconds without having to get rid of it due to defender always on me. Like the coaches tell the defenders to stay on your man. How come that doesn't occur on the professional level? Like I'll see a world class player like Xavi receive the ball wide open. I'm baffled that no one Is on him like white on rice. How could you leave open such a dangerous playmaker by himself?

  • What's a good Spanish speaking comedian?

I listen to a lot of stand up that speak English. CK being a favorite but I don't know a single Spanish performing comedian. I know a lot of Spanish people who do English stand up but never do I see a set done entirely in Spanish. Not good ones at least

If you turn to telemundo you'll have some hackey BS like every one is trying to be carrot top or they do a lot of street jokes which anyone can do you never see them talking about real things about themselves or unique prospectives or talking about politics in a hilarious way

So can anyone name the Louis CK's and the Bill Hicks and Chris Rocks of the Spanish community.? Don't say George Lopez because he still does his act in English. I want a comedian from a Spanish country doing stand up in a Spanish country talking in Spanish

  • Why are airplanes sometimes towed to the gate?

I fly a lot. Most of the times when landing the airplane will taxi to the gate. But every once in a while the plane will get towed the gate. Why is this? The plane works fine. It's not like there's a flat and they called AAA.

I've tried googling why but no results.

  • Does Obama having more of a following on Facebook and Twitter a good indicator of him taking the election?

Polls always seem to be biased so I don't really trust that. So I think a great way to measure someones popularity is through their online following.

Obama has about 30 million followers vs Romney's 10.

Also twitter Obama beats romney 21 to 1.

It looks like a landslide. But then you have to consider all the older people who aren't online and all the young people who can't vote. But I think essentially they cancel each other out.

What do you guys think? Based on popularity and politics aside I think Obama has the edge.

*****note****** I'm not voting because it would be irresponsible for me to vote, so please don't think I have an agenda here for Obama. Just a simple poll from a gambler's perspective.

I don't know all the intricacies of each candidates policies for me to just pick a guy because he looks fun to have a beer with at a bar (how I would vote). Me voting would be like giving Mike from the Jersey Shore the power to vote for the next Nobel prize winner in Physics, just not a good idea. So don't lecture me on why it's important to vote. I know it's important. That why I think people who know about the how their policies work should only be voting. Not just some random jackass.
