  • Question about David Letterman's show?

Why does he run from the left side of the stage to the right side, just before his show starts (or sometimes, as his show is starting)? Why doesn't he just walk on from the left side?

  • Has anyone genuinely changed their beliefs (in general or specifically) because of what they had read on Y!A?

There are so many different beliefs represented on here and we all think we are right, and we try to convince others that our beliefs are right. Has anyone actually been convinced? This is just a curiosity!

  • I saw a T shirt that said this...?

    ...or something to this effect:

If God is not real, then nothing matters. But if God is real, then He's the only thing that matters.

That leads me to ask this question:

For those of you who don't believe in God, what's the problem with living AS IF there is a God? For example, living by Jesus's teachings and such. What could it hurt? What would you lose? In the end it doesn't matter right? You could help people and live peacefully with others. On the other hand, what if you're wrong?

  • My sister asked me this question and I don't know what to tell her...?

At Pentecost, the apostle Peter told the gathered crowds his testimony: "God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact" (Acts 2:32). The first Christians saw these things with their eyes, but we cannot. How, then, are we witnesses to the fact of Jesus' resurrection?

  • Post-Baby Sex?

I had my first baby about 4 1/2 months ago and my husband and I still have not had sex since about a month before our daughter was born. I have had pretty much no interest at all but we have tried a couple times. It has just been too uncomfortable and a little painful. Should I be concerned about the pain? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks!

  • Induction advice?

My doctor has scheduled me for an induction on Tuesday (my due date is January 26). My baby is larger than average and I have a smaller than average pelvis, so he wants to go ahead and let me try to have a vaginal delivery. I'd like advice from anyone who has been induced before...what to expect, what helped/didn't help, best/worst parts of an induction, etc. Anything would be helpful. (FYI: I have read up on inductions so I do know a little, but there's something to be said for personal experiences.) Thanks!

  • I've been having pain for about 4 days...?

I am 37 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I've had no complications whatsoever and have just breezed through this pregnancy. But for the last several days I've been experiencing new pains. First, there is a "stabbing" feeling in my cervix--a sudden sharp little pain that lasts 1-2 seconds, periodically throughout the day. Second, I've been feeling menstrual-like pain in my lower abdomen and lower back--not cramps, which I seldom ever got with my period, but a steady dull ache. Tonight the back pain is particularly bothering me, even reaching up to my mid-back. Is it normal to feel pains like this? Could it be very early labor? I guess I'm just not used to feeling anything--I've never had any pain at all during my pregnancy. The only thing I've physically felt is my baby moving. I'm not worried about any of this and I have a doctor's appointment in the morning so I'll run in by him, but just wondering your thoughts and/or experiences with similar symptoms. Thanks!

  • When will feet swelling go down?

I am 36 weeks, 5 days pregnant and due January 26th. For about the last week my feet have been more swollen than normal (they've been swollen a little my entire pregnancy). Not to worry, though; it is not pre-eclampsia. My doctor says it's just pregnancy swelling. But my question is, how long after I give birth will I still have swollen feet? I know there isn't an exact answer, but if any of you had similar situations, what did you experience? Also, I've heard that your feet never go back to the size they were before pregnancy-any truth to that? Thanks everyone!

  • Why am I so thirsty lately?

I've only noticed it for the last week, maybe two. I am thirsty most of the day and the only thing that is satisfying is water. At my last doctor's appointment (in late November) I was tested for gestational diabetes and passes with flying colors (my doctor's words exactly), so what else would cause this? Thanks!

  • Your experiences, please?

I'm a little worried my baby will come early. I will be 31 weeks on Thanksgiving day and this is my first baby. For a while now many people have been telling me that I won't make it to my January 26th due date. Also, just last night my mom told me that I was nesting, but that it was too early for that. And today another lady told me that my baby appeared to be lower in my belly than the last time she saw me (which was maybe a month ago), and then she said something about me having the baby soon. My doctor hasn't said anything like what other people are saying, but at my last 2 appointments I was measuring 1 week and then 1 1/2 weeks bigger than what I was. I will see my doctor again next week and will definitely ask him about this, but until then....what do you think? Personal experiences and/or factual advice is welcome. Thanks!

  • Video game: Madden 08?

My husband has been having a fit for Madden 08. I plan to get it for him for Christmas. However, I recently saw on the news that there were some problems with it. Now, I don't know the first thing about video games, so how can I check on if that problem has been fixed before I buy it? And I don't know if this is relevant, but my husband has a Playstation 2. Thanks!

  • Where to find information on all different religions?

I am wanting to study different religions, kinda from an academic stand point. My main interest is on Christ-centered religions, but I want to learn about others as well. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I may find this information? Anything will work: websites, books, etc. Thanks!

There are no small children in the family yet, so I'm really looking for games geared towards older children/adults. The last new game we got was Imaginiff, and we really enjoyed it. Does anyone have any suggestions for a fun game to buy next? Thanks!

  • It is possible that I conceived 2 weeks ago. Could I already be having symptoms?

For about 3 days now, I have had very sensitive breasts and some dull pain, like I would have if I were about to start my period. However, my period isn't due for 2 more weeks. I know I need to take a test, but it's too early right now. Any ideas?

  • What first name goes best with the middle name "Marie"?

My husband's mother's middle name was Marie, and we would like to give our first daughter the same middle name. We are just having a hard time picking a first name that sounds good with it. So I would appreciate your opinions. Thanks!

  • My sister's Pomeranian is sick?

My sister's little Pomeranian has a "red and goopy" eye, and his nose is not wet. She said the part of the eye that is supposed to be white is red, and that there is goopy stuff all in it. Any advice? She's kinda freaking out about it. Thanks!

  • BC question...?

I know taking BC at the exact same time everyday is ideal, but what if it's almost the same time everyday? Like, a 3-4 hour window? Say I take it between 9pm and midnight everyday...would that significantly affect it's effectiveness?

    Thanks!
