  • Would Mars be the better planet than Earth?

    I got two questions.

First, are the planets set up by: distance from the sun equals age? I mean, the older the planet, the further away from the sun. Which leads to the question, is Mars older than Earth?

Second question. I know Mars and Earth are in the "Goldilocks" section of the solar system, the part of the system that is perfect for life. Since Mars is further away from the Sun, and if Mars' core was active, would Mars be a better planet to live on than Earth, hypothetically?

  • What's the name of the dimension (realm) of the Djinn?

I'm a Christian but I have respect for the Muslim religion. If fact, studying other religions is a hobby of mine.

But for the life of me, I cannot find the answer to this question on Google.

Why do I need to know? A djinn is the main antagonist of my fictional novel.

So what is the name of their realm - most importantly?

And, if you know, what's the biblical name for our realm (human's dimension, like Midgard in Norse Mythology)? And what is their realm like to live in for them?

References would be nice but not necessary.

  • Any text programs that work with Dragon Naturally Speaking software?

I love my Dragon Naturally Speaking voice dictation software. I use it all the time for my fiction writing hobby.

However, I'd like to know if there are alternative text software out there that would work with it.

I know it was made to work with MS Word. I called up the Dragon Naturally Speaking customer service and they said that's the only software it would work with.

I found out that's not strictly true. It will also work with Windows NotePad and WordPad. Since I don't have MS Word installed, I strictly use MS WordPad for dictation.

Using MS WordPad is what I call a slight workaround, but it's not perfect for my needs.

So my question is: are there any more text program workarounds out that anyone knows of that works with Dragon Naturally Speaking?

Please keep in mind that I'm NOT talking about the Dragon Naturally Speaking feature that lets you talk into a popup box with incompatible programs and then you must press the transfer button. That gets old really quick.

All serious answers would be sincerely appreciated.

  • Why can't I cheat on my console video games?

Firstly, I'm not talking about cheating against other people. I'm not interested in that, and strongly against it. (TF2 aimbot comes to mind) And I'm not interested in "achievements" and "trophies".

I am talking about cheating in single-player console games in general, not PC games (PC games have extensive modding).

A friend of mine worded it perfectly. I "don't want to cheat" - I'm specifically want to do "in-game modding". After I pay my $40 to $60 for my new video game, I want to turn on god mode, no time limit, unlimited ammo, etc. Yet the console games now a days regularly omit cheat codes completely.

What are the video game industry reasons for sometimes omitting cheat codes?

Online multiplayer gaming, I'm not interested and I wouldn't cheat there either.

"achievements" and "trophies" for nothing but bragging rights? Not interested.

If they want me to complete the game once and then unlock cheats, fair enough, but they won't even do that most of the time.

I just bought cheats for Dead Rising 2: Off-the record. Yes, "bought" them. That sucked, but at least I got them. However, what they don't tell you is that YOU CAN'T SAVE THE GAME when the cheats are activated. Even turn off the cheats and your game is still unsaveable. So you have to play a game that takes all day in one sitting.

One other reason I cheat is because I have a life. I don't have days, weeks, or months to spend on one game. Sometimes, I need to rush things along. Especially when on average, there are at least 8 great games to play a year, in my personal opinion.

I feel that when the game companies hold back cheat codes, they hold back part of the game I paid for.

Do you remember games that go hand and hand with cheating? What would Grand Theft Auto series be without cheating? Ever play Saints Row on cheats? Have you tried Red Dead Redemption with the cheats on? Bullet-Time heaven!!

I've paid my money!! I don't hurt anybody by cheating!! It's my f-ing right as a PAYING customer!!! I WANT TO CHEAT!!!!!!

    P.S.

For you game-purist that are against cheating in principle, don't bother preaching your "you are cheating yourself" new-age trash here. Not interested.

  • Need a GhostWriter, please help!?

I've been searching for a ghost writer for years, off and on. Here's what I've found. Writers on freelance sites like Elance and Odesk are willing but not A good fit. I've tried to search the yellow pages and google, but those writers are not a good fit. Anyways, recently, someone suggested finding a literary agent that represent writers. Does anyone a very good agent? Or agency? I have a YA fiction. Like an edgier "Percy Jackson". I have the full, deep outline of the story. I just need the prose to flow like its not my first time. I need someone that takes direction, not someone who has his/her own agenda. Any help would be appreciated.

  • What a very good, funny, recent young adult novel?

I'm an aspiring author and I'm looking for novel examples that are very funny, but serious when it needs to be. The best examples that I can think of are TV and movie examples.

  • Is "Young Justice"'s Aqualad dumbed-down in the comics and why?

First let me say that I'm talking about the Aqualad that originated from the TV series "Young Justice", not the original Aqualad/Tempest.

In the TV series, he is a breakout character that is very, very cool. He has super-strength, eel-like electricity, and water-telekinesis that he could make water-constructs into any melee weapon he could imagine - not to mention the other, older Aqualad abilities. In addition, on the TV series, he is excellent leader, highly intelligent, and cunning (to some people, ruthless) strategist. Even more so, he is cool looking (Google his name and "Young Justice" to take a look). Guys think he's cool looking and ladies think he's sexy, as he is sporting his eel tattoos and Wesley Snipes-like "Demolition Man"'s blond hair and blue eyes.

However, in the comic, he doesn't look or act as cool. The comic writers gave him black dreads, instead of his blond hair - why? The blond, short hair and blue-eyes looks cool on him. His origin is different too and not as good as the original's TV version (Black Manta's son - how awesome is that?). Also he doesn't display the same coolness, personality-wise, as his TV counterpart.

Some people on the internet believe that the creators didn't intend on overshadowing one of DC's icons - Aquaman, so they dumbed the character down on purpose for the comic. Some say that the writers actually thought they were improving on character by making him a more mainstream-like character.

    What do you think?

  • What is the oldest name for God, according to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam?

No need to get offended here. I'm just curious - like a trivia question.

I'm interested in knowing the oldest known "God" name according to these major religions. Just looking for one answer and one name - the oldest when all three are compared.

My research shows that "El" is the oldest. According to multiple sources, it's prehistoric and the specific origin is unknown. However, no sources says "This is the oldest name for God...".

Just checking if I'm missing anything.

  • What does a "million dollar review" mean?

On the Carnival cruise ship I was on last week, the cruise directors, Kirk and Jamie, kept announcing the music shows as "a million dollar review". What does this mean? Did the stage cost a million? The actors are worth a million? The total worth of the show is a million?

  • Why do people see liars as honest?

"He's so real." "He tells it like it is." "He rips on everyone." "He doesn't lie. He calls 'em like he sees 'em." "He doesn't care what people think."

Somehow, somewhere, street logic has filtered itself into the US mainstream. People see lairs as heroes of honesty and, yes, integrity because they have the ability to say ANYTHING without tack or class. Jerks and verbal bullies are the most candid with other people’s fault, even though they hide and deflect from their faults like their lives depended on it. This isn’t just high school anymore. People of all ages are fooled by this fake integrity while the jerks are laughing their heads off. I'm sick of it. "No, your honor, he didn't treat me like this when we met... Although he did treat other people like this, but never me."

My question details have a lot of emotions in it, but don't let that distract you from answering the question WITHOUT a solution, instead of just correcting the way I asked it. You know what I’m talking about.

  • I love butts. Do you and what type?

Butts, butts, butts… What can I say? I love them with all my heart. I cannot say how it happened, but I guess it was hereditary. Which type do you like:

    - Peach butts (round and voluptuous, but smaller than Hip Hop video girls),

    - Plum butts (Thin white girls have this one. The women’s frame seems to accentuate it. Think Trophy wives),

    - Tight butts (Like Peach or Plum butts, but more thick and muscular. Think gymnastics.)

    - Jeans butts (Butts in tight pants, especially jeans. Maybe, my favorite. Women with perfect skin are included in this category too.)

    - Apple butts (Smaller butts than Plum butts. Think Paris Hilton or Asian girls.)

    - Robust butts (Think Robert Crumb. Thick, tight, huge butts that you cannot help to imagine you’ll have to climb.)

    Or

    - Juicy, Plump, Ripe butts (Next to Jeans butts, my favorite. Large, Peach butts with no cellulite. Think Hip Hop video girls.)

By the way, my question may seem weird to some people, but I

  • What does it feel like to be a genius?

Am I a natural genius? No, but I’m working on being a genius through skill. Any ways, to natural geniuses only (born with it – photographic memory included), when you work out a problem, like the following Math problem:

Two cars are traveling in the same direction on a road. The car that leads is traveling at 46 miles per hour. The other car is traveling at 70 miles per hour. How many miles apart will they be 30 minutes before the faster car catches the slower on?

What goes through your mind? I know you’ve been asked this before and you most likely said something like, “It just happens…” Well, think back on that answer and elaborate on it. Can you picture things clearly in your mind and HOW clearly? Is it a TV screen with bad reception or the 5 senses 3-D participation or a clear plasma TV screen when you close your eyes? Does the thoughts have a pleasant sensation? A natural high? Do you need “cues” when you think intensively, like sounds or nose twitch? I mentally picture things at

  • why are white people afraid?

Hi, I’m black. I guess I say that because it matters to what follows. More to the point, for sake of a better term, I am a “black-white” man. What does that mean to those non-Americans reading this? I am a full blooded black American male with an above-average intelligence that’s been raised in an upper-middle class neighborhood. I love America and who I am. However, due to my race’s distracting self-hatred and sympathetic identity to negative Black Exploitation, I find that I have to find out answers to important questions all by myself. And the current question is: Why are white people afraid? Some races are actually going through genocide, not only blacks, but American white people seem to equally get concern if they see any other color in their world view than white. Let me stress that some white people think this way. Lately, I’ve noticed “rednecks” are starting to understand how Racism is an easily exploitable weakness, which is based on fear, ignorance, and hatred.

When I read and look at photos of the Blood Diamonds conflicts in Africa with a black female raped body laying face down in her burned down house while a pack of wild dogs tear at her flesh, or a black man’s head in the middle of the road because the militia wanted to set an example, or the fact that American black men are the only type of males that surpass women of as victims of violence, I find it hard to understand when some white people say they “are being made extinct” - by who and how and what scale are you using to gage this? I’ve mentioned the African incidents at work in an earshot of an ultra-conservative white man and he dismissed them as somehow rare and a Liberal “spin”. However, with Al Sharpton, he’s raises his voice and turns red. I guess what I’m trying to say, and I mean this with respect, sometimes white people in America act like the spoiled bully at the playground that won’t let anyone else play with the toys even if the toys weren’t theirs to begin with. I hope I’m being clear.

P.S. When I submitted this question, there were 211 similar questions. If I were white I’d be concerned. Fear or any other form of sin is easily exploitable. Oh, and just saying sin, like hate, isn’t a sin doesn’t work. That’s one of the major concerns of my race right now. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, dresses like a duck, we don’t need to get to know its feelings to know it’s a duck.

  • Why can't I have a robot girlfriend?

Hi, I'm a robot "fan". Which means I read Robot magazine, I own and experiment with Lego Mindstorms, and I'm a programmer by trade. I know that one day "Synthotics" (a word I made up) will be a reality. (Synthotics - a branch of robotics specifically concerned with the mimicking of humans; by combining relevant fields of sculpture, animatronics, and traditional robotics) Traditional robotics don’t like to deal with “faking it” where animatronics does. With the marriage of these two we could produce an exciting product. So the question remains, “Why is it taking so long to get a robot girlfriend?”
