Can you dry out soggy spices?
I live in a basement-level apartment and it gets quite muggy in the summer, which can ruin some of my food, despite my best attempts to store it in well-sealed containers. I have a bottle of Mrs. Spice that got all clumped up and soggy---I think I might have inadequately closed that one. It was being kept in an upper cabinet. Should I just toss it, or could I maybe scrape it out onto a baking sheet and pop it in the oven at low heat for a few minutes, and will it be OK?

2 AnswersOther - Beauty & Style5 years agoWhy is Spotify shuffing playlist??
I'm just listening on desktop computer. I'm listening to one of the Conan O'Brien playlists. The first two (1993 and 1994) worked just fine, but now I'm on 1995 and it's playing the songs in random order. *It's not even on "shuffle"!* The "shuffle" symbol is not highlighted. Is there some glitch or what? Anything I can do to undo this?

Can't decide, but leaning toward "clear blue plaid."
I'm not a real schoolgirl, just want a "schoolgirl-style" outfit. LOL
2 AnswersFashion & Accessories6 years agoSo confused about Word table formatting, please help!?
I'm trying to format a paper in Word that includes multiple tables. It is wasting a ton of space. There will be a short introductory paragraph, followed by the rest of the page totally blank, and the table doesn't appear until the next page, so that it can fit on a full page by itself. I don't want this; I just need to conserve space, and it's fine if the table goes across pages. I just want the table to start immediately after the text. I do have "Allow row to break across pages" checked. Any other advice on how I can format it the way I want--so that the tables start right after the text, rather than keeping the tables on a separate page?

1 AnswerSoftware6 years agoHow do you delete the Amazon, Monopoly, etc., apps from an Android phone?
I'm running of of memory on my phone so need to delete some stuff. I'd like to start with some of these pre-installed apps that I never use, if possible. I can't imagine why anyone would need an Amazon app. Anytime I go to Amazon, I just go to the website on my Browser. Anyway, it isn't apparent how to completely remove these apps, so if you know how, please share! Thanks!
3 AnswersCell Phones & Plans6 years agoIs there a good humidity-proof recipe for meringue cookies?
I've read that humidity can badly affect the result when it comes to making meringues, and that it's best to make these when humidity level in your climate is below 50%. I keep an eye out on the weather info, and we pretty much never get below 50% here (Minneapolis). In fact, for the next week it will be near 100% most of the time. For the last few years I've tried to make mint chocolate chip meringues anyway, but the results have been a goopy failure--they fail to thicken and set properly, and end up as flat little disks. They taste just fine of course, but don't look so hot (If I can successfully make some, I'm hoping to enter them in a cookie competition at work, so presentation counts). I used to have my aunt's recipe for meringues, which I think involved freezing the mixture for a while before forming and baking the meringues. I don't know where this recipe is currently, so I have just used a Pillsbury recipe, or ones I've found online, the past few times. Anyway, if anyone has a good idea how to successfully make meringues in high humidity, please share. Thanks!

3 AnswersFashion & Accessories6 years agoPlease recommend me some good classical/jazz music?
I sometimes like to listen to classical music in the background at work, as it's soothing and not as distracting as something more high-energy or with lyrics. I've already listened to the complete ballets of Swan Lake, Coppelia, the Nutcracker, Polovtsian Dances, etc., and the New World Symphony. I have a lot of other favorites and have been to many symphony concerts, but don't play myself and am no expert. Please let me know of good classical recommendations I can listen to on Spotify.
Or jazz music--I love Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Nat Cole, Duke Ellington and Chet Baker. Let me know what else is good. Thanks!
6 AnswersOther - Music6 years agoWhich last-minute Halloween costume idea should I go with?
Work is having a Halloween party tomorrow (I work in an office) and I don't want to go too all-out or over-the top with my costume, but here are my three ideas. I'm a girl, BTW.
1) Wednesday Addams. Skirt, cardigan, collared shirt and pigtail braids. (The only prob here is, how do they know I'm supposed to be Wednesday and not just a generic schoolgirl? Plus 32 might be too old to be a schoolgirl lol).
2) Flamenco dancer. I've taken flamenco in the past, so I have a long tiered black flamenco shirt. I have a ruffled red silk blouse that might go well with it too. And I can just put my hair in a bun a wear a flower in it maybe.
3) Kurt Cobain. Obviously I'm a girl, but hey, I like Nirvana. I have medium-length hair like he did, so I can just part it in the middle. I'd just wear a flannel plaid shirt, ripped jeans or cargo pants and a band t-shirt.
What do you think?

2 AnswersHalloween7 years agoPlease help me with my real-world math problem!?
OK, I'm just bought a coffeemaker and am learning how to make it (I used to have others make it for me but am trying to grow up). The coffee I got says to use 1 to 1.5 tbsps of coffee grounds per 6 oz of water. I want to make 16 oz, to fill my thermos. I'm too bad at math, please tell me how to figure this one out! Thank you.
1 AnswerMathematics7 years agoWhom do you subscribe to on YouTube?
Who are some of your favorite YouTube users/channels? I sub to all the BuzzFeed channels, Jenna Marbles, Wendy's Lookbook, A Sprinkle of Glitter, Conan and the Late Show. I sub to Tanya Burr and Zoella but am getting bored of their videos and don't really watch them anymore--their vids are WAYY too long and they need to learn to edit. What are some of your faves? Any funny channels to recommend?
4 AnswersYouTube7 years agoWhy does Firefox block ads so much better than Chrome? How to fix?
Just with the default settings, Firefox always does a great job of preventing malicious adware from popping up. Even though I have popups blocked in Chrome settings, it doesn't block them in reality, while Firefox does. I have to use Chrome with the device Chromecast, which you can use to stream video from your computer to your TV screen. One of the video sites I use has a lot of annoying popups that could potentially be riddled with viruses. No problem blocking these in Firefox. But again, I sometimes like watching the videos on the big screen, and that can only be done in Chrome. So, I'd appreciate advice on how to *really* block out these popups in Chrome. Thanks!
3 AnswersSecurity7 years agoWHY can't my laptop connect to wireless?
OK, so I have several laptops; the one I mainly use, but my iPad (and iPod) connect to wireless just fine. But I have a few other laptops that will not connect to my network since getting a new cable provider and setting up a new network (these laptops connected fine wirelessly) with the old network). The reason I want to use one of the older laptops now is that my keyboard on my main laptop is jacked up--several letter keys stopped working. So the keyboard needs to be replaced--an issue for another day. For now, I want to use one of my older laptops. Here's what happens when I try to connect them to my wireless network: It shows my wireless connection as "Excellent". Great! But then under internet connection, it says "cannot connect to internet. Local area cable is unplugged." The main one I'm trying to connect with is my Acer Aspire with Windows XP. When I run "fix internet connection," it tells me there is a problem with the winsock provider catalog, and would I like to fix it? Yes, I would. It prompts me to restart. So I do. Still no change. If I run "fix internet" again, it tells me the same thing about winsock. So it did nothing when I said to fix it the first time? And on and on. I don't get why it's telling me a local area cable is unplugged. It's supposed to be unplugged! I want to connect wirelessly. If I DO connect with an ethernet cord, it actually does work. But I can't keep my laptop next to the modem all the time; I mainly use it in another room..
1 AnswerComputer Networking7 years agoWhat is it like living with a roommate who's a stranger?
Long story short, I don't make nearly as much as I thought I would at my new job--after taxes and other deductions, I lose about a third of my income! So I can either live in a tiny one-bedroom apartment in an awful neighborhood, or room with someone. I don't know anyone personally who is looking for a roommate, but I am thinking of answering an ad for someone who is in a similar position as me. It's a nice place in a nice part of town, with reasonable rent. I would get my own room (of course) and private bathroom. Anyway, can you tell me a bit about what it's like rooming with a total stranger? I did so once when I lived in a dorm, but what's it like "in the real world" when you actually move in with a total stranger? I want to believe it's a total blast like "Friends" or "Big Bang Theory," but I imagine IRL it might be a bit awkward at times, especially if you barely know each other.
