  • How would you counsel a "devout" Protestant man who is planning to marry a "devout" Catholic woman?

Although engaged, they now attend their own churches and will continue to do so after marriage.

The man attends the same nondenominational church that I do and is involved in a small group Bible study. She does not attend any church services or functions with him and I don't think he attends anything with her.

I am concerned about them being able to have a sincere, strong, Christ-centered marriage when they won't attend the same church and he has expressed "deep disgust" with the Catholic church. I would appreciate Scripture to back up any points you have to make if possible.

I am also not the only person with a concern, lest you think I'm just being a busy-body. Different folks have tried different approaches, and I'm struggling with mine. He has also been very resistant to those who have expressed concerns, so I think he actually knows he is not being wise.

I am posting here for advice. Thanks in advance for any counsel you can give.

  • Do you capitalize "Bible" when referring to the book that includes Genesis through Revelation? Why or why not?

I ask because I have noticed that among Christians, who are supposed to be believers in God's word, the Bible, I notice more and more frequently that the word Bible is often started with a lower case b.

Do you think the trend toward not capitalizing it implies less reverence for God's word?

  • Do you capitalize the word "Bible"? Why or why not?

I have noticed more and more frequently that the word "Bible" is not being capitalized by people. In both formal and informal writing. By secular and religious writers. I am wondering why. Regardless of one's religious beliefs, the Bible is a book, and by the rules of English, names of books are supposed to be capitalized.

  • What's the best way to hard-boil an egg so it is done but not overdone?

I heard once that if the yolk has gray around it after the egg is boiled, that means it's overcooked. So there must be a way to avoid that?

  • What's the best way to remove wallpaper so you can paint the wall after removal?

In case this helps: It's in a bathroom. It's old (at least 19 years) and already peeling up at several corners. I'd like to remove it as cleanly as possible so I can paint the walls with as little prep work as possible. Thanks!
