Chemistry empirical/molecular formula problem.?
Im a little stuck with the following question. Would be great if someone could shed some light on the problem:
An organic compound X, which contains carbon, hydrogen and oxygen only, has an Mr of 85. When 0.43 g of X are burned in excess oxygen, 1.10 g of carbon dioxide and 0.45 g of water are formed. Find the empirical and molecular formulae of compound X.
Thanks in advance

1 AnswerChemistry10 years agoPhysics resistance in parallel question.?
Suppose in a circuit with a power supply of 3V, there are 12 wires arranged in the shape of a cube. This cube is connected to the circuit in two ways: one bottom corner (where the current flows in to the cube) and the top corner opposite this bottom corner (the corner furthest away). What is the total resistance of this cube if each wire making up the edges of the cube has a resistance of 1 ohm? Use 1/R(total) = 1/R1+1/R2... and any other circuit property/relationship.
Thanks in advance. This is driving me crazy!
1 AnswerPhysics10 years agoBest way to get group of 8 from carlisle to Alton towers?
We would like to arrive at Alton towers at 10 o'clock when it opens and leave as close to 6 as possible. Is there a train station in Alton towers or conveniently near (walking distance or with frequent buses to the theme park) and a train which would satisfy these timings? If not, please could you recommend a bus service or any possible alternative option. As always, price is also an important factor so the cheapest option would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
5 AnswersBirmingham10 years agoWhat to do in London.?
Tomorrow I'm heading to London with my son (16) for two days and Im looking for ideas on what to do there. We are both very interested in science so I think it would be good to visit one of the museums but which one would you recommend, if any? (particulary out of the natural history and science museum) Any other suggestions of fun and interesting activities would be very welcome.
Please don't just guess as I can do that myself, I am looking for opinions based on experiences or credible reviews.

Two cars A and B are initially at rest side by side. Car A starts off on a straight track with an acceleration of 2m/s^2. Five seconds later B starts off on a parallel track to A, with acceleration 3.125m/s^2.
Calculate the time taken for B to catch up A.

Id like to buy a pair of authentic sweatpants in the brand new design/style but the £65 price on top of postage is simply too expensive. Please could you share any websites you know of (preferably British for postage reasons) which display these authentic sweatpants for a reduced price and postage cost.
Here is the URL for the sweatpants on the A&F website: http://www.abercrombie.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/ser...
Thanks very much in advance

What is the pressure of a tyre (whose final volume is 1000cm^3) when it is pumped up using 1500cm^3 of air at atmospheric pressure? Assume that atmospheric pressure is 100 kPa and the temperature of the air stays the same.
