  • what does it take to have a fairy tale wedding/marriage/love?

I'm creating a themed gift for my cousin for her bridal shower. I want to give her things to help her have a "fairy tale" wedding/marriage/love. I am looking for ideas. So far I have a romantic cd (Disney Favorites), a book starring her and her fiance, I'm up for any ideas.

I'm hoping the problem is a punctuation in the wrong spot or something- and that someone with more expertise than me will see it quickly. You can view what will show - and the source code at www.mapsintheclassroom.com

  • Access Web Server From Home?

I am the webmaster of a website at work. Right now the only way I can access the ftp server to update pages is when I'm at work and on that network. Is there any way I can access that information at home? I work for a school and would like have a banner that I can update with School Closings, as they occur - which would be from home, not school. Any ideas? I'm open to getting access to the ftp or even just adding an element to my page that I can edit. (I only need it for the front page) Thanks!

  • Do they ever put burial vaults on TOP of caskets?

This past week we buried my aunt and as we watched the actual burial, they placed the large, metal, SOLID vault on TOP of her casket in the ground. Is this normal? I thought that the whole idea of the vault was to protect the casket from outside damage (ground, animals, water, etc) and to keep the ground solid above the casket. It didn't make sense that they would just set this incredibly heavy thing on top of the casket.

I've done a few internet searches and didn't find any results related to this. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can you edit a webpage without having access to the main server?

I am looking to create a webpage for my school. I would like the teachers to be able to edit their own webpage without giving everyone access to the main server (could be dangerous). Is there a program that already exists to do that? Or would I have to write something in code? (if that's the case, what is the recommended language/script?)

    Any advice would be appreciated.

  • How much would you pay a photographer?

I'm just looking for an hourly rate that a good photographer should charge. I'm not necessarily talking about a wedding, but just any event. Is $50 a good number, or should it be higher? Lower? How much would YOU pay? This should not include any packages or anything, I just want a basic hourly rate. Thanks!!!

  • Looking For Sad/Loser Songs?

I'm looking for songs where the main person is having a hard time. The trick is.. I don't want LOVE songs. A few examples of ones I already have are Good Bye Earl by the Dixie Chicks or A Boy Named Sue, by Johnny Cash

The intended response to the song would be.. "Man I'm glad I'm not him (her)!"

  • Synonyms for Money?

I'm looking for cute or clever words for money. I'm working on a project about penguins and my students will be earning money. I was hoping to tie the two together using an adjective like Antarctic, Winter, Penguin or some other word and then the word for money. (Example- I already have a system of "math moola").

ANY suggestions of a synonym for money would be appreciated!

  • Is it normal for your feet to fall asleep while "running" on an elliptical?

It's usually only up around my toes and the balls of my feet.

  • Break Up CD?

Hi. I want to make a cd (or playlist) of songs to help me feel better. My boyfriend and I just split and I'm looking for HAPPY upbeat songs that remind me that I am strong, that I will survive, and that I am a worthwhile person. I do not want sad, moody, or angry songs.

The type of song I'm looking for is like Jimmy Eat World- The Middle.

I want motivational, get me out of my funk music. Music that will remind me that I have time, and a bright future ahead of me.

I DO NOT hate my ex, and do not want any music that is ANGRY or mean.

Any genre of music is fine. (i.e. country, rock, R&B, etc)

  • Applying for Internal Position....?

I am a teacher. Our district has 2 buildings, a pre-k to 5 building and a 6-12. Currently I teach 4th and 5th grade math. However, an opening was posted for the 7th through 9th grade math teacher. I want to apply for this. My questions are: How exactly do I do this? I know I'm supposed to send a letter of interest to our superintendent. However, do I write a cover letter and include my resume just as I would for a position at another school? I mean, the superintendent KNOWS me. Do I just write a letter that says "I want the job"? How detailed do I need to be? Do I need to re-interview? I have no idea how this process workes. This is a LATERAL movement, meaning no change in status or pay - just grades being taught. I would prefer advice from people who have done this before.

    THANK YOU!

  • Geocaching name help...please.?

My boyfriend and I are thinking of starting to Geocache (is that a verb?) Anyway, we weren't sure if we should have one joint account and share all our discoveries, or if we should each have our own and just take turns reporting our Joint Ventures. What is the common practice? Is one way better than another? If we find a cache together can we both log it? (As I said, we're new, and not sure how all of this works yet.)

    Thanks!

  • Graduation Video Songs?

I'm making a video for my cousin who just graduated. I read some other questions (and answers on here) and got a lot of good ideas but I am looking for more. I am 28 and listen to country- my cousin is 18 and well, doesn't listen to country. She's a typical suburban teen. I want to pick songs that SHE will like and I'm afraid I'm a bit outdated. Any songs that are considered timeless (even to the cool kids) or new songs would be appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. Most of the pictures are of her growing up - middle school and earlier. I don't have any from the actual Graduation ceremony. She hasn't been real cooperative getting me more current pictures, so I'm just using what her mom gave me in March.

  • What is the best time to take a multi-vitamin?

I've begun using the Alli program (http://myalli.com/). The program recommends that I take a multi-vitamin (no problem- already have them). However, it recommends taking it at night before going to bed. Is there an advantage to taking it then as opposed to first thing in the morning? Please site sources if you can.

P.S. I do not want to hear about the Alli Program, I am aware of the "effects" (though I have not suffered any). I honestly don't care whether you think I should take it or not. My question is about VITAMINS. Thank you.

  • Questions about Yogurt?

I've seen the commercials, I've seen health cookbooks promote the use of yogurt, however I'm a bit confused. I went to the store and read the labels. If you buy the low-fat or fat-free they still have like 10+grams of sugar. If you look at the lower sugar ones, they have lots of fat. So here are my questions:

    1) What is the health benefit to eating yogurt?

    2) When it says they are sweetened with aspartame is that counted in the sugars or is the sugar count just the OTHER sugars?

    3) Is there a yogurt that doesn't use high-fructose corn syrup?

    4) Is there a yogurt out there that is low in fat AND low in sugar? (that still tastes good :) )

I'd like to start eating it, but I only allow myself 30 g of sugar a day and that small container of yogurt sure takes a lot of them!

Any help on ANY of the questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Stuff Stolen while camping??

I'm going camping... and I have no choice but to take some very valuable equipment with me. If something should happen to that equipment (it gets stolen) will my renter's/homeowner's insurance cover it?

Also do you think it would be safer for this equipment to stay in the tent with me at night? or to be locked in the car? (it does not have an alarm) - I am staying at a state park, in a designated tent-camping area.

  • Should I lock my tent?

I am going tent camping for the first time in about 20 years. I know times have changed, but are campers still trusting? Can I leave my clothes and sleeping bag, etc. just in the tent while I go exploring? Do I need to somehow lock my tent? Or do I pack everything in the car each day? What does the typical camper do these days? (We are staying a State Park in a designated tent camping area) Please help.

  • I need help with a phrase....?

I am making high school graduation invitations for my cousin. I am trying to find a phrase that would be appropriate for the cover. The picture shows my cousin as a senior looking back at a picture of herself when she was younger. Any ideas welcome.

I was thinking of things like "you've(or I've) come along way" but I think it's a little too cheesy. Please help.

  • Favorite and Most Hated Songs?

I'm a 4th and 5th grade teacher and this week my classes need to rate 10 songs on a scale of 1-10. I really want to include songs they will really really like and ones (perhaps from "oldies") that they will absolutely hate. The catch is that the songs have to be rated G. (no profanity, no sexual lyrics)

Please include a title and singer if possible.

I listen to mostly country, so I'm not really sure what the current "hip" songs are.

    Thank you.

(p.s. this is a very tiny rural school)

  • Is it fair?

Everyone has been talking about Imus and his apparent unfair firing. But how come no one is outraged at Circuit City for laying off thousands of workers just so they can hire cheaper employees? Apparently laid off workers will be able to apply for their old jobs (at a lower pay rate) after 10 weeks. How is this allowable?? Don't American workers have rights anymore?
