  • Why do hip hop fans/artists make this noise?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9iQiyoj2JSg

When he introduces himself he says it in his name. Like a tongue roll. I always see it used like kind of as a cheer. Anyone know anything about it? Does it have a name? Origins? etc..

    Thanks

  • Is it illegal to pretend to be a doorman?

Would it be considered loitering if I opened the door for people at a fancy hotel or building in hopes for tips? It sounds pretty low when I read it back but it seems like a good idea.

Could also be done with an elevator operator and similar jobs.

  • Can my mom legally do this?

My mom took all of my money ($500) and put it in her bank because she does not trust me with it. I don't like having to ask her to use the money I earned and I don't like having that freedom taken away. I'm 17 years old if it matters

    Any replies appreciated

  • Question about acetyl group? (or functional groups in general)?

I have seen some supplements come in an acetylated version. For example: L-carnitine and Acetyl-Carnitine. What is the function of the acetyl group? How is it different than the original form?

Is there a website that tells the role of each specific functional group? As you can tell I'm pretty confused with the role that they play.

  • Western union question?

There is a bank by me called US bank which apparently had western union in it. (It comes up on google maps when I type in WU)

Do I need to be a member of US bank in order to use their western union?

Also, will there be a part of the building that is designated for WU clerks? Or can the US bank clerk handle my western union needs?

    Thanks

  • *** Calling out doctors or smart people *** (costochondritis)?

    Sorry for the obnoxious title.

I diagnosed myself with costochondritis from weight training. I took about a month of, iced it, took NSAIDS, and it still didn't get better. I was also supplementing with fish oil but it did not reduce the inflammation.

What would a doctor give me for this? I was hoping I could get something powerful to help me end this as its been going on for almost a year. I was hoping to get something such as nandrolone to help reduce the inflammation as well as strengthen my tendons.

I have been to the doctors before and they always start out with a very weak product (for whatever my issue is) and slowly ramp up dose of medicine or give me something different but still ineffective. Its taken almost a year to heal some conditions and I am very tired of waiting.

Sorry for the long read as well. Hopefully I can get some input

    Thanks

  • Need GIMP/Photoshop help with backgrounds?

I'm trying to have an alpha channel so I can put something behind the image. Alpha channel meaning the background isn't white but its checkered. I can add the alpha channel just fine, but when I save the image to my desktop, what SHOULD be the alpha channel is just plain white.

Hopefully you can understand that. Any help would be appreciated. I'm trying to get it so that JUST the image is saved with no background. Here are some images to help give a visual:

Heres what I want the image to be: (Not with the checkered background, the checkered background means it is blank)

    http://i.imgur.com/DPl9c.png

and here is what it always saves to:

How can I get it to save like the first one? I'm trying to put a clock behind it on my desktop

  • How would a girl react to this?

I don't know if you would call it a practical joke but here it is:

You're just friends with this girl. Maybe not close friends but you talk sort of often.

You go up to her and act very serious and tell her you need to talk. You then explain why you two should stop seeing each other and any time she tries to talk you interupt her with lines like "I just don't think it's working out" , "I just need a break" etc.. and then say "I'm sorry" and just walk away.

Would this be a good joke? Basically just confusing her

  • Is it rude to ask a girl if she wants to practice making out?

In this situation you're just friends but there is an obvious sexual attraction from each other. You would also be in a private place with nothing to do, ex. you're waiting for something. Would you consider it rude or what?

Seems like it would be better to ask if she wants to "practice" since it puts a lot less stress on the situation. Thoughts?

  • Non-carbohydrate precursors of gluconeogenesis? (post anaerobic exercise)?

Since the main non-carbohydrate precursors are lactate, glycerol, alanine and glutamine, does it mean that a carbohydrate source post workout would not be used immediately to replenish glycogen? would it still be beneficial in replenishing glycogen? Or how would a carbohydrate source be used in terms of glycogen after anaerobic exercise?

I'm learning biochem on my own and having trouble understanding, thanks.

  • Dermatologists - Melanotan II..Thoughts?

What do dermatologists think of melanotan II?

I went to the derm a couple months ago and she removed 2 moles on my back but said they were fine. I've heard melanotan can increase mole darkness & size as well as freckle darkening. Do you think it would be a bad idea to try melanotan II? I have trouble tanning

  • Should I this/flip this car?

    Cliffs at bottom.

There is a 2000 eclipse gs for sale for $1300. He says all that needs to be replaced is the crankshaft sensor. It has over 200k miles though. I know I could replace the crankshaft sensor since I am in auto shop class right now. He says "I just want what I payed for this car" which makes me suspect there are other problems. Also needs new tires soon. Is it a good deal? Could I resell it after I fixed it for a profit? This is the kind of car I was looking to get anyways. Thanks

  • Why did so many rappers die in the 1990s?

It seems like there were a lot more rapper deaths in the 1990s that happen now. Do you think that's true? Is there a reason for it?

  • Has anyone seen a heel hook, applied a heel hook, or been heel hooked?

Just wondering if any jiu jitsu players here have actually seen a heel hook be applied, done one, or been injured by one. We're learning about the ligaments in the knee in my kinesiology class and wanted to see a video of a heel hook being applied. I've heard there is a bunch of pops and you can start to see internal bleeding when one is done. Anybody have anything to add? Thanks

  • Front squat form technique?

For front squats, are you supposed to have your knees aligned with your feet when you're down? I have always done back squats & hack squats but tomorrow I have to max on front squats. I will do a few warm up sets to get the form down but does the "knee behind the foot" rule apply to front squats as it does back squats? Thanks.
