  • Should I finish the humanities degree first or should I just go for the computer science degree?

I'm married and I work full time. I'm a real estate agent right now and it's a great career, but I love computers. I would prefer a steady paycheck, though, because my wife and I are thinking about starting a family, so that's what is making me think about this.

If I finish the humanities degree, I have 7 classes left, but I'm starting to wonder if that's even worth it. I worry that a humanities degree is useless. At least the computer science degree gives you a skill set that you can use to get a job.

My other thought is that if I finish the humanities degree, there wouldn't be nearly as much available, career-wise, plus it probably wouldn't pay nearly as much as IT jobs.

So, I guess, my question is, should I finish the humanities degree first or should I just go for the computer science degree?

  • Finish a degree in humanities and then go back or just go for computer science degree?

  • In the field of IT, how does University of Phoenix hold up?

Through the fault of my own, I almost got a useless degree in humanities earlier in life, and while doing so, I used three years of FAFSA, so I don't think I have any assistance left. I want to pursue a degree in computer science, but with my job now, it seems ridiculous to try to go back to the state school.

If I were to go to University of Phoenix, would it be of any help or do I need to figure out something and go back to the state school?

    Thanks!

  • Why does new dog always run away from me?

I've had him for a day and a half and he will not let me get him back in the house. I sat and chased him around for a few hours yesterday and it's driving me insane. I've tried treats, letting him come in as he pleases, and talking softly. It's not a playful chase, either, it's a "I don't want to come in." chase.

Honestly, I'm coming to my wit's end here. Should I just let him scratch on the door after like 6 hours? I really just don't know what to do...

    Thanks!

  • How do I factor fractional exponent expressions?

No matter how many examples I look at, I just can't grasp how to do it. Can anyone explain it to me in a different way?

Here's an example I have in my textbook:

    (x^2+1)^1/2 + 2(x^2+1)^(-1/2)

    Thanks in advance, guys.

  • Is it better to lose fat before trying to gain muscle?

I've always been curious about this. I'm a 24 year old guy and I could stand to lose another 40lbs or so to get down to 200lbs, but I don't want to be a bodybuilder. I'd like to be slim and cut, but I also would rather not become somewhat of a rail. haha. Right now, almost all of my fat is around my torso, so should I start trying to build muscle or should I just stick to mostly run/bike/swim to lose the rest of my fat before starting to build muscle?

    Thanks guys!

  • I'm having a really hard time finding long poems written in hiragana or katakana. Any ideas of where?

I have a presentation on poems written in Japanese tomorrow and I'm having a really hard time finding poems that are more than a couple of lines. I'm also trying to find poems that are written in hiragana or katakana. Any ideas of where to look?

  • Why are people fully incapable of searching before they ask a question that's been asked millions of times?

I kid you not, I have answered the same question probably 5 or 6 times in the last hour.

Why are people so damn incapable of searching for their answer before asking the same freaking question that literal millions of people have asked before? I just don't get it...
