Looking for a gift for a person who is starting to write novels and short stories. He'd like a small portable tablet, but not too small. I'll buy a wireless keyboard to go with it. Thinking about buying a Kindle Fire HD 8.9" (or maybe an iPad 2?). What apps are the best for writing documents? Do they work well, or similar to Microsoft Word?

x^2+y^2=6 Seems like such a simple problem. I calculated the first derivative to be -x/y, but I can't seem to figure out the derivative of that!

Anyone know of a good marker set that would offer me both thick and thin markers? I'll need them for big things like making posters and signs, but also for small things like decorating cards and papers. I'd like a decent set of markers that has multiple sizes in it, and is affordable. Thanks!

I know some girls who are in high school and very talented vocal musicians. One of them plays guitar and piano well, and they cover all voice parts (soprano and alto). Where can they find some arrangements of songs to sing a cappella? They'd like some pop songs and simple things like Happy Birthday that they can sing at parties. Lavender or Mint leaves? Will that last? What else could I use?

I totally think that homeschooling is AWESOME and I respect it a lot.
