  • Calling all Marine Recruiter Wives!?

We just got recruiting orders and I wanted to know what to expect. All I have been hearing is horror stories.

I don't know where we are going yet. He doesn't even go away to school until next April.

I just wanted the real scoop. Thanks!

  • Off the bottle and constipated?!?

I had asked a question a few days ago about getting my son off of the bottle. Everyone said that cold turkey was the best.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Arzyw...

Well no one warned me that he was going to get constipated! I thought that he drank enough. He gets his diluted juice and drinks water for the rest of the day. It's obvious that he's not getting enough fluids. I was mortified by what I saw and hope to God that it never happens again. Any other suggestions for getting him off the bottle with out getting constipated again. I guess I"m going to have to slowly wean him huh!

  • How to remove caked on pam?

Ok so after I had my son my mother stayed with me for a bit. My husband was deployed at the time. There were some doors in the house that irritated her with all the squeaking and was insistent that it was going to wake up the baby. So instead of going out and getting WD 40 or whatever it's called she sprayed Pam on the hinges. Yes, cooking spray. It worked like a charm but sprayed all over the door and the walls. Now it's a year later and I can't get that nasty caked on stuff off. I've tried scrubbing with a sponge, Brillo, baby wipes, Lysol wipes, Goo Gone and nothing works entirely. Does anyone have anymore ideas?

I know, I know I should have cleaned it while it was early but my husband was gone for a year and my main concern was taking care of my son alone.

  • Off Bottle, On Sippy?

My son is now 13 months. I know that I need to get him weaned off the bottle and drinking milk out of a cup/sippy/anything other then the bottle. I have tried to give him some milk in the sippy cup today and he was not having it. I'm not concerned about him not drinking milk. When I asked the doctor how much milk he should be drinking he said, whatever he wants. Which I thought was a bit odd. Now I know better that babies/toddlers/everyone, need their calcium and the other nutritional value that comes with milk. I do also know that it can be substituted with cheese, some veggies blah blah blah. I guess what I"m trying to ask is should I go cold turkey on the bottle? I don't want this to be a long drawn out process. He'll get over it eventually. He drinks everything else from a sippy. How did your kids do? How did you handle it? I guess that is the question! Thanks!

  • How do I get my 13month old to leave a band aid alone?

My son got a nasty looking boo boo on his right, pinkie finger. I have no idea how he did it but I don't want it to get infected. I cleaned it, put a little dab of neosporin on it but he won't leave the band aid alone. He's pulled two off and I'm not leaving him unattended with the dang things. That's the last thing I need, him swallowing anything nasty. Any ideas? I've been brain storming for an hour and can't think of anything. Thanks for the input!
